This card isnt completely useless. You can chuck it on an opponent's utiltiy so that it throws itself onto your blockers.
But it still is a terrible card

Best quote I've seen in this set so far. =D
Too bad the card is kinda "meh."

Probably one of the best-flavored +X/-X card i've seen. Regrettably not all that useful though. I know it's supposed to be a somewhat dynamic card, but in comparison to other cards it just does not quite seem to achieve either thing.
Now if the fire would grow (so the creature would get +1/-1 each turn by using counters - either directly on the creature or special ones on the aura), this would be a whole lot more interesting. This would also flavorwise make sense, since as it is, a Scathe Zombie actually won't die by this Guise of Fire eventually. Would probably have been too elaborate for a Common slot then though. (But it would make an interesting red version of Unstable Mutation...)

The "attacks each turn if able" had me giggle, and feel pity for defenders with this on, forced to just stand there and suffer.

OK, I agree, this is a terrible card...but...
In limited I killed SO MANY otherwise troublesome aggro weenies with it. So many soulbonders are either 2/1 or 1/1. It was VERY nice to get them out of the way before they could bond!

Red removal in a pinch. This is a card that you scoff at until you're desperate for removal in your limited deck.

It's funny how Immolation of all cards got a kind-of reprint here.
I remember using that for creature destruction... Yup, those were the dark ages for me

This thing's pretty obviously bad for constructed, but in limited... ok, it's still pretty lame, but it has a use when you consider that AVR (and all of Innistrad block) has a pretty low amount of removal. It's not the thing that anyone would enjoy running, but it doesn't deserve a 1.5; I'd give it a 2/5.

Looks like Defensive Stance has a new red counterpart. I wonder if I can expect to see anyone use both in the same deck.
This card is kind of like this YouTube video. Which is to say...completely freaking AWESOME!!!
Also, I think this should be keyworded. Forget Firebreathing, instead Magic creatures should have:
On Fire ( this creature gets +1/-1 until end of turn and attacks this turn if able. )

Even the zombie thinks it's hilarious, just look at that grin....... well, he might not have lips anymore, but I still think he's happy.

Uh, you don't put this on your own creature. Why would you ever put this on your own creature? You put this on an OPPONENT'S utility creature, and then have one of your creature's eat it.
In that sense, it's a removal spell for . Which is GOOD.

"Huh? Seriously? Because. They can't grab me if I'm on fire.." *points at head*
As a one-toughness kill spell, Geistflame is a better card.
