This and Voltaic Key in the same set make me giggle.

I'm afraid they'll bring back Arcbound in Scars of Mirrodin.

So close to 'Scars of Mirrodin'. All those Alara artifact decks have a new toy to play with. I'm just glad they kept Naturalise in 2011. This will probably rise in value once Mirrodin is killing magic all over again.

Like the Lich, could be really good or bad. It's all dependent on Scars.

I can just see absolutely ridiculous potential in this card. I actually am starting to worry about Scars. Mirrodin is/was/always will be one of the most broken sets in Magic.

Triskelion and this one, add Voltaic Key, mix it with Basilisk Collar and whoalla...Killing Spree

The cost is what breaks it. At it would have been fine, even great. But on the second turn, artifact players have yet another reason to giggle madly. The artifact-loving part of me... loves this card, while the logical part of me thinks it's a bit much, especially with Scars on the horizon. I'm not sure about this one.

Shell, when didn't they? Oh wait, you probably play standard.
This card will make the vintage affinity that much scarier. I can't wait to get my hands on some.

OH YESSSSS !!!!! The cure for the artifact decks has arrived!!!!! Arcbound creatures now have a chance of seeing serious play more so than ever before.... Maybe even the real crappy ones. Ornithopter and other Thopter kin are now blessed to have such a fast booster instead of the crummy Holy or Unholy strength type boosters. Free counters will flow like wine. Not to mention Fate Transfer will be used to fight off creature removal from not Modular creatures to continue the fight without too much delay. FINALLY, WotC has given me a card I REALLY enjoy....It amped all my artifact decks 10 fold!!!!!! THANKS WIZARDS!!!!!!! The shame is trying to get copies of these things after release. Hang onto them when you get'em and wait until Scars of Mirrodin shows. Artifacts will rule those days!!!!!

This guy will be insane in three months. On its own, it's a great, efficient "lord" of artifact creatures which is not terrible without any underlings. With a whole crew of artifact creatures popping up in the fall, this is going to be a card to watch. I'm not going to be arrogant enough to try to "guarantee" anything, but I will be very surprised if there aren't numerous high-performing competitive decks playing four of these when Scars of Mirrodin comes out.

this card should have costed 3-4 to put out, there is absolutely no way it could be considered balanced at only 2, with that said...im getting 4

lol looks like scars is in danger of becoming like it's little brother already. a few slips here and there through the design team and we've got ourselves cards that will warp the metagame for years again. exciting.

In terms of power, this should have been a mythic.
I love artifact decks and play them almost exclusively, but this and Voltaic Key being in the same set just before Scars of Mirrodin, which presumably will be artifact-heavy, makes me a little nervous about the metagame. At least Etherium Sculptor and Tezzeret the Seeker will be out by then.

The sickiest Artifact I've ever seen, Not only it gives every artifact +1/+1, It gives them permanately...
And on the top of that it comes in very early... Awesome...
I really hope we get some hardcore artifact hate in scars. A reprint of Ancient Grudge would be in order, but even that would not be enough. Some sort of cheap enchantment that deals direct damage whenever an artifact is cast, or something like that.
Otherwise look forward to a million identical artifact creature decks with this guy and voltaic key come scars.
Mwahahahaha!!! Behold the new captains of my mech army! Why don't we proliferate a bit while we're at it? Prepare to be assimilated!

Voltaic Construct makes this the ultimate counter machine. Add an everflowing chalice and proliferate and you've got some mad counters coming out per turn.
I less-than-three this card.
Then, proliferate.

The vulnerability of artifact creatures to so many removal spells is the only thing keeping this from being completely broken. Too many great combos to name. Wicked, wicked little guy here.

One of the scariest cards I've ever seen. I've turned my 1/1 myrs into 12/12 beasts with these guys in mid-length games.
Also, like Myr Galvanizers, they're great removal magnets that basically force your oppoent to get rid of them if they can, freeing you up to play some big guys (like Battlespheres) with much less worry.
This plus contagion engine is just nonsensical nonsense. Frist, all your creatures get smaller, all my creatures get bigger. Then next turn, all your creatures DIE, and all my now hugantic creatures kill you in one glorious charge. Wonderful.

Put four of these, 4 Ornithopter, 4 Memnite, 4 Voltaic Key, 4Etched Champion and 4 Tempered Steel, some Freed from the Real, proliferate cards and some tutors and you've got yourself a very annoying artifact creatures deck. 4.5/5, because steel overseer is quite a removal magnet!

Great card, and a 4 of in my artifact deck, but really, I wouldn't call this card broken with its vulnerability to removal. Now if it had hexproof or indestructable...then yeah, that would be too much as far as balance is concerned.

It's fun to spam with a pentavus and an unwinding clock. Progressively larger pentavites with pseudo vigilance
Tap Steel Overseer for 1 counter on each creature. One +1/+1 counter in all. Pay 1 for Voltaic Key to untap it, tap Steel Overseer again for another 1 counter. Two +1/+1 counters in all. Pay 1 mana to untap Steel Overseer with Freed from the Real to tap it again for another counter, repeat two times. Five +1/+1 counters in all. Use Tezz's +1 ability, untap Steel Overseer and Voltaic Key. Tap for a counter, untap with the Key, tap for another counter. Seven +1/+1 counters in all. Then you pass the turn.
BUT since all permanents are artifacts with Mycosynth Lattice, Unwinding Clock untaps your entire field. So repeat it all again minus Tezzeret/use Freed from the Real one more time, gain an additional six +1/+1 counters on your opponent's turn.
By the time your opponent passes the turn, ALL your artifact creatures should be at least 13/13, and god forbid if you have a Blightsteel/Darksteel Colossus hanging around. If not, then take pride in swinging with your 13/15 Ornithopter.
Of course, this is just a best case scenario. It probably won't happen or as often as we'd want, but hey—we can dream, right?
