Play ALL of the different Black Cards you've been talking about for the last couple years- yeah it's more 'aggro' than 'control' at this point- turns out being able to play 6 or more Black Sun's Zenith next to 8 things-that-don't-really-die is actually amazing.
Being able to either Reanimate OR Dark Realms-cheat Griselbrand out is not too shabby either.
I'm positive those 3 spikey creatures are what will make the deck possible, so it can only be so much control. Everything I list after Obliterator I make no claim to be an expert about- but this seems like a fine start for anyone interested!

Great reprint. I hope Wizards tries to make Black's removal more -x/-x oriented to differentiate it more from White's. I always liked Mutilate, and continue to be surprised when mono-Black decks don't run it. Often times this is better than Damnation, not to mention always cheaper on the bank.

In a mono-black deck, Mutilate can kill pretty much anything you want to kill with Damnation, and many other things Damnation cannot kill (like indestructible creatures).

Note - My friend played a white/black "I'm just gonna kill everything now" deck. Ran four each of Day of Judgment, Phyrexian Rebirth, Wrath of God, Life's Finale, Black Sun's Zenith.... That deck was SO irritating, but SO funny. XD

Another excelent reprint in this set. A card I've always wanted to try out, and thanks to the reprint I basically had a set fall right into my lap. I cast this card for the first time last night to take out an Avacyn, Angel of Hope and a big ol' posse of angels, and it was glorious.

Keep in mind, Damnation doesn't get rid of indestuctible creatures. This does. Sure, It needs a lot of swamps to work, but if you run mono-black, This works just as well.

Easily the best wrath in standard right now. The only way this doesn't kill every creature is that it gets countered, or you don't have enough swamps. it takes care of indestructable, Boros Charm, Voice of Resurgence, etc. MBC is possibly because of this card. 5/5

This spell is very good for mono black. The only time I regretted having this in my hand over barter in blood is when they reanimated a fatty with 7 toughness on turn 4. But its rare that this doesn't clean out the board.
