I see very little use for this outside of a Worldslayer deck or a myr deck. In the current environment, it's way too easy to kill an indestructible creature this small, but in non-standard formats, once infect stops being played much, this is going to be one heck of an annoying wall. I guess that could be said in its favor.

He is so awesome! Maybe he isn't gonna help out as much as some creatures against infect but I agree that he is cheap and durable and he also gets bonus points for combining my love of Darksteel and Myrs into such a sylish and artistic package.

Low cost indestructible creature. Makes the built-in-effect more accessible. Would have loved for it to have more P/T, but who wouldn't.

I want to know why this has a power of 0. I don't mean why it functionally has a power of 0. I mean why every other myr has at least the ability to deal 1 damage and this one is not even capable of dealing that much. I have to assume, based on the art, that Darksteel is such a heavy material when something of such tiny mass is created out of it, it is not capable of lifting itself and walking to the extent that it can physically attack something. If every creature in MTG were to have a foot race for one mile, this creature would probably come in dead last by at least four hours.

Honestly, I love this guy, and for those of you worried about infect, that's why they put darksteel so heavily in the set. I tend to just burn off the infectious bastards before they hit me. ALso, I'm loveing the art.
4/5~4.5/5 imo

I've always wondered how much the smallest possible indestructible creature would cost. And you have to think outside the set with this card. Darksteel Myr is a fantastic, cheap, durable frame to attach piles of equipment to. Imagine Sword of Vengeance, Worldslayer, and maybe some Bonesplitters or any of the dual-colored swords. This card has potential and must be worked with before it wins you the game.

★★☆☆☆ (2.8/5.0)(3 votes)
Ok it's a 3 or 3,5/5, not a 5/5.
But this one needs (and has) friends in standard. For sur, one in the set, a Myr's one, Myr Galvanizer, and a construct old friend, Steel Overseer (a good friend to all the Myr Tribe!).
Not so bad with Echo Circlet... but vulnerable to infest... Decent.

for creature that is basically wall and can't even catch most forms of evasion? No way. There's Wall of Tanglecord for if you need defence, and Goblin Gaveleer or Sunspear Shikari if you're want to equip something. Indestructible doesn't mean Invincible and i doubt that opponent would waste any removal on it, anyway.
Just compare it to ornithopter or memnite... either indestructibility on creature is worth more than or it's just worst myr of the set.

Why is this rated lower than sentinel? I mean I understand situational drawbacks, especially with how big infect is right now, but in non-standard formats it seems decent enough.
Diachronos
★★★★☆ (4.8/5.0)(4 votes)
Yes he dies in one hit to Infect, but not everybody uses Infect! Even if he's only a 0/1 without Flying or Reach, he's still Indestructible, which makes him an incredible defender against other walkers.

Could be a bit better, but in any case, the ultimate chump blocker. Whta coul be more annoying than not being able to hit your opponent with you evil little 45/45 deathtouch first strike just because your opponent hase a 0/1 out?
Darksteel myr + 4 Myr galvanizers = a 4/5 indestructible. Having at least 1 myr reservoir on the field can get you any galvanizers you lose due to removal or combat. This card is a lot better than people give it credit for, at least in my myr deck it is.

I keep one on me at all times in my wallet. Why? because noone believes me that grasp of darkness or Drana or such effects kill indestructible creatures and his reminder text is oh so lovely.
@Nathreet, this is rated lower because it can't do anything but block. Darksteel Sentinel can attack and then block and has 3 power. It does cost alot more but at least it can function

He's pretty underwhelming on its own, but it works great in my artifact deck. Early on he is a very decent blocker and later on Myr Galvaniser, Steel Overseer and Tempered Steel will turn him into a huge beatstick, easily becoming a 5/6 or bigger.
Forget what I what I wrote earlier, he is weak :( I have replaced all of my Darksteel Myrs with Memnites, and I do not miss him one bit.

Black negitave removal (stabbing pain)
White exile removal (Condemn)

Any deck that needs to fill a "wall" slot.
Shure it has some cons, but what cards dont? Solid card in my opinion 4.5/5
Poor little guy is just too heavy to be able to attack. He blocks various Hydras quite well however, such as Protean Hydra, or Phytohydra, a couple of creatures you'd prefer not to damage. Probably could have been a 0/2 for 3 mana though, I mean Phylactery Lich is 3cmc and is a 5/5 Indestructible.
As much as I like Myr (i think they adorable) IMO he's not worth it. Sure he don't die easy but there soooo many way to deal with him it hurts (especialy white Enchantment-Auras and infect). Also he don't do good job defending in late game. Any guy you want to block with him will more often then not have trample. Not to mention flyers. If I want a blocker I throw a Steel Wall.
But it's just hilarious to stop new Glissa with him ^^.

I'm surprised this is how it is. You can get a 0/1 flier for {0} with Ornithopter and a 1/1 for {0} with Memnite. Darksteel Myr kind of fits in the middle, so I could see it costing no more than {2}. Especially compared to Darksteel Sentinel, which sure, costs {6}, but is a 3/3 and has two extra abilities. The Sentinal gets +2/+2 and two abilities for only {2} more? And I really don't think the Sentinel is overcosted, so that makes this little guy undercosted.'
Still, I like him, because he's a Myr.

This creature can stand up to most anything upon hitting the table. The only things that can stop it once it's begun is -
Even so, Darksteel Myr is still a good option for blocking, and becomes a solid beater when equipped - preferably with Darksteel Axe so it won't be losing it's attack power very easily. Most of the removal that your opponent will be packing will either be burn - Searing Blaze , Lightning Bolt, Flame Slash, etc, or exile - Journey to Nowhere, Revoke Existence , Dispatch, Condemn, etc. As well as the plain ol' destroy cards - Doomblade, Day of Judgement, Consume the Meek, Smother, Go for the throat, etc.
Actually, when you think about just how much removal is out there (in standard alone!!!) indestructibility looks extremely attractive on just about ANY creature...
This could have been such a cool card... I think an Indestructible Myr for that otherwise is a vanilla 1/1 wouldn't have made any trouble at all.
Especially not in a block that features Infect creatures, so i don't see how this would have been a problem in Standard. And regarding Extended and eternal formats, there are plenty of -spells that can exile creatures.
Take a look at the artwork - even Darksteel Myr itself seems depressed and ashamed of his 0/1 body.
And anyway, since when are there Myr with 0 Power? Maybe that's just me, but that does not seem to suit their flavor either. Especially in this case if you are made of sturdy-as-hell freaking darksteel! Oo
@desolation_masticore: It would actually be pretty cool in terms of flavor to have 'indestructible' mana - a colorless mana that, similar to Upwelling's effect, doesn't get emptied from your mana pool at end of steps and phases. But Wizards normally refrains from printing cards that require remembering things or writing it down on a piece of paper.

I'd be interested in a 1/1 indestructible for . Very Strange.
An indestructible body that can't deal damage by itself isn't worth 3, if you ask me... Would have been more solid if he could deal damage, or had costed 2 or even 1.
