It's too bad this seems to be the only guy that can get artifacts into play at instant speed in Scars. It would have been fun to turn the 'Metalcraft' effects into combat tricks.

I love this guy. I hate paying 6 for him, and I'll hate putting him in the 'yard after he blocks one too many zombies, but I adore the flash/vigilance/indestructible combination.

Too expensive for what he does. By the time you've got him out, he is just an 6-mana chump blocker.

At the prerelease most people just Skinrendered him, that's if he hit the table.

Too expensive imo. With so much infect running around, indestructible isnt nearly as good as it used to be and a 3/3 vigilance isnt worth 6 mana.

Indestructible? Nice. Flash? Yeah. Vigilance? Why not. Six mana for a 3/3? T_T Go away you. And can still be countered, forced sacrificed, withered, pacifismed, trampled over and so on...

You can play it on the turn 3 with help of Grand Architect and some earlier blue critters. And is kinda fair for what he is (esp. in comparison to Darksteel Myr). But still, he feels somewhat underwhelming...

I'm never going to play this guy in standard. In EDH, however, I want one for every deck.

Would have given it 5/5 just for art, but that wouldn't be doing justice to the rating system because this card is so horrid. Sad to have pulled this, but that wallpaper is definitely worth whatever wizards payed the artist. Again, a waste of perfectly good art. I guess I'll give it 3/5 for having a few different abilities on top of artwork

This guy is a textbook example of cards that look good but dont deliver the merchandise on the battlefield. Its overcosted, doesnt fly, and its indestructibility means nothing when it comes to infect. At 6 cmc, you need to much untapped mana to create a surprise, and the suprise will be your opponent saying to himself: "Whew! I'm so glad he wasted his 6-mana spot on this". Want good surprise removal? Invest in Dispense Justice instead.

Absolutely awesome, but tragically overcosted. Even 1 less would be pretty fair.
I just love how carefree you can play this guy. You don't have to wait for your turn to play him, and you can attack with no worries whatsoever because he's indestructible and doesn't tap. Unless, of course, they've got infect or wither. Still, it's a really neat card. Just one that costs too much to be too useful.
As you know "Indestructability" costs (Darksteel Myr) so normally it costs

I really like this card, for 6 is a little expensive but I'm nearly always going to have an etherium sculptor around so it's a fair deal 4/5

This guy is actually pretty good... outside of Scars... It's ironic that so many indestructible creatures have been printed in a set where the ability is often next to useless.
As for the manacost, there are plenty of ways to lower it or otherwise get around it. Semblance Anvil makes it cost 2 less, Grand Architect easily produces the mana, and so does the Myr tribe. You could also try Mycosynth Golem from the old Mirrodin block if you want some nostalgia ;)

I use him in my affinity deck, being able to play him for free on my opponent's turn is nice, but he is useless unless my friend mycosynth golem is in play.
If Wizards made him slightly cheaper or gave him flying, he would be better.

People understimate what a premium is placed on all three abilities - flash, vigilance and indestructibility.
The short list for indestructible creatures is only about a page long, and a lot of those are worthless in combat. Flash is an ability that adds 2 or 3 to the cmc of a creature, and vigilance also generally takes a 4/4 from 3 or 4 mana to 5. We get this for 6, and we should be glad of it.
Equip this with a Sword of Light and Shadow, and your whole board is now removal proof, sweeper proof, and any single thing that attacks you needs evasion. 5/5

Lets ignore the cost for a moment... A solid, fun, casual card. He eats a lot of weenies on the turn after your 6th (in which you left yourself open by attacking all out), stands up nicely to wrath of god effects, and is happy to attack right after the board clears. He attacks every turn, making your opponents wonder if it is safe to block with a 4/4, and desensitizing them to combat trick wariness. ...Now lets talk about the cost: You can get a 3/3 vigilance creature for about , so if you put him in the deck, make sure you are using the indestructibility and flash to their full potential. If you cast Jokulhaups a few phases after you flash him into play, it could become a struggle for your opponent to recover. Use darksteel ingot to accelerate the Sentinel, and to have a leg up on mana production after the world is washed away. Yes is a lot for just a 3/3. You pay reasonable markups for solid and synergistic abilities. He is also a good buddy of Capricious Efreet.
Friend: so its just a 3/3 flash, vigilant, indestructible? Me: "just" has no place in that sentence.

Vigilance, flash, and indestructible is such an elegant combination. They are three abilities that work in a subtle but powerful way. This has to be one of the best designed cards in the set.
Most players weren't playing in the day of true draw go decks, so they can't quite grasp how beautiful the mechanics of this card are. Just take my word on it, this would have been the finisher of choice.
Those are good abilities, but they aren't THAT good. If he had a lower cost, maybe even less, then he would be playable, but there are better things at . That said whenever I see this card, I really really REALLY want to put him in a deck, but I just can't get myself to do it.

Throw a Basilisk Collar on this guy and you have an amazing creature.
Nice artwork, though the poor guy gets really crushed in a set focused on piling up -1/-1 counters on everything. Even without them, he's still overpriced by 1 mana, though I do appreciate the interesting mix of abilities. So close to be amazing!

If it were a 4/4, I'd probably play it. If it were a 5/5, it'd be a staple in one of my decks. As it is, no thanks.
I think my favorite part about this card is the flavor of having an indestructible, vigilant golem under your control. It's the kind of card that I want to play in Archenemy, just for the pure flavory goodness.
