This definitely needed a reprint. As an uncommon, it was getting a bit pricey. I'd love to pick up a couple of these, and now I can.

WHAT? This makes the part of me that likes life gain very sad. :( I shall chastise/faith's fetters this on sight. That being said, use it with something like Grove of the Burnwillows just so that this is never a trampling bear.

The cards that let your opponent gain life as an alternate "cost"(Skyshroud Cutter, Reverent Silence and Invigorate have great synergy with the kavu predator, as I get something free and a substantial pump for kavvy.
