Obligatory double strike effect #1. Wizards includes at least two in every large set these days.

Wait...you're back? How did I miss you on my first (five) browsings of the new set? Let's get you put on shivan dragon for some good facemelting fun.

Oh, how I loved this.
Equipped it, each turn, to my Mutavault, and managed to kill an opponent with that.
Equipped it to a Cyclops Tyrant and killed a non-red-playing opponent in just a few turns.
Would also have loved to equip it to Dragon Hatchling but never got around to it.

Might be one of the number one limited bombs in this set.

Double strike is good, no matter the format. But when I Clone'd a Woodborn Behemoth and equipped this, a double striking 8/8 with trample is pretty devastating in limited.

Double strike that is resistant to Wrath effects wins games.

Mirrodin block was really weird, mainly as the Uncommons of that block were downright mental, both in power and utility. This is just one such example - perhaps not as crazy as some, but still a very powerful and effective card.

The equip cost of 2} really makes this. It's easy to equip it to a Ball Lightning!

Whenever my opponents play a creature with double strike, my stomach drops. Now they have the ability to give any creature double strike for 2. And it's reusable...
Seriously though, I can see this causing people to maindeck artifact removal in standard.

While I do like the card, I don't think it's playable in Standard. All five Swords might have been somewhat overpowered, but those are in fact closer to the power level of the current Standard than this card. Bant / Naya Hexproof is one deck that might make use of this, but I'm sticking to Ajani, Caller of the Pride.
I don't know if there is a more appropriate Mirrodin artifact to name than Isochron Scepter, I don't remember its name? I'm just saying "Vorthos sees Banefire coming out of a casty-cast spell-makey thing" :D

Sometimes I prefer nquisitor's Flail more, because running multiples isn't as much of a problem as it costs less, and it has a multiplying effect, rather than a redundant one. This however, is great with "dealing damage to a player" triggers.

Attaching this to Mind Drinker , does it cause his effect to go off twice because he hits the person twice?

Daxos of meletis really benefits from this

Being a Timmy and attaching this to Colossus of Akros while it's monstrous is probably the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I love this card to death. As someone who gravitates pretty frequently to , double strike is the ability I'm always sad to be missing out on. I'm eternally grateful there's a way to get it in any color, even if it takes a bit of mana investment up front.

I love this card. There are so many effects that trigger off of dealing combat damage, which means there are plenty of ways to abuse this effect. Maelstrom Archangel: 2 free casts. Curiosity or any card with similar effect: draw . Ghastlord of Fugue: exile 2 cards from the opponent's hand. Anything with cipher ever: cast it twice. Spellbinder: Same as cipher, but any instant.
Plus you know, double strike is always great, so being able to run it without running red or white is kinda awesome.
