That art is plain beautiful. And personally, my favorite creature to enchant with this is Archdemon of Greed... Yeah.

Um, why does this cost 5? I assumed it cast 3...

It costs too much to cast, but it's nice otherwise...and just look at that gorgeous artwork!

Combos with Angelic Overseeer for producing the humans to give it invulnerability and hexproof. Honestly, creatures are easier to dispatch than enchantments overall. Stops Blue, Black, and Red, but is stopped by a Green or White deck.

Honestly, for this mana cost, I wish it could have just been a straight-up enchantment rather than an aura. :( I've tried to play this in limited, but it's just soooo slow for it's mana cost. I usually only net 2-3 human tokens from it, and sometimes I don't even get any if they have answers in their hand at the time. In that case, the card disadvantage is huge. Aside from that, though, the art is fantastic. The flavour text is pretty cool, too.

HORRIBLE
Don't care that it's in the set with a billion blatant "play humans!" cards, it's still horrible and should never have been printed.
Don't play this. Ever.
Compare to Verdant Embrace which gives +3/+3 and makes a 1/1 each upkeep (including your opponents' upkeeps) Honden of Life's Web which isn't an aura (and thus isn't incredibly fragile) and combos with several of the other "Honden" Shrine cards.
Or consider Pollenbright Wings, which works really differently and costs 1 more mana but is generally going to give you better results. Also consider Goblin Assault, Shrine of Loyal Legions, Dragonlair Spider...there's a whole world out there of better cards if you're willing to be open-minded.
If you're really dead-set on getting a late card-advantage engine for your human deck and don't like that these token-makers don't make humans, then you should get more creative than this card at least. Use something like Rememberance or Sigil of the New Dawn.

With the vulnerability of being an enchantment and an aura, this card would only be playable if it costed one or two mana, an even then it wouldn't ever stay on the field long. Crap card by any standard, 0/5.

Would be somewhat more playable if say: It granted +2/+2 or something. If it gave enchanted creature hexproof. If it costed 2 or 3. If it was an enchantment (not aura).
Wow, so many people think that this is a bad card. Yeah, it's overpriced in cmc, but it has numerous uses. For instance, it combos very well with Angelic overseer, which has the same cmc. Not every strategy has to be heavy aggro, I play control ramp, and I do fairly well, even competitively. In addition, this is a great way to trigger Champion of the Parish/Champion of Lambholt/ Cathar's Crusade. As for those of you who have produced a negative rating because there are better cards, Not everyone plays vintage and legacy, many, like me, only play standard. And I have seen no standard comparison.

Ummm. Yeah I've never been so disappointed at a ruling before. In my playgroup, you're allowed to play this on an opponent's creature and you still get the token. That way it isn't as vulnerable. Admittedly the flavor doesn't make any sense, but being able to block a Thunder-Thrash Elder with a token made by itself every turn is kinda fun.
This is just a kinda fun multiplayer card (which tends to last longer too). I think it should have "each upkeep" and some other drawback because now it seems overpowered :p Well maybe being an aura is itself a sufficient drawback if you have to play it on your creature to get the tokens.

It's not just the ruling, it blatantly says on the card that the creature has the ability.
For the card to work as you would want it to, it'd just say the ability it confers rather than giving it to the creature.

At 5 mana it needs to be a non aura enchantment. As an aura, it could at least give hexproof or something...
5 mana is terribly late in the game to be getting a 1/1 once a turn.

If you're willing to spend some mana beyond the initial investment, really ridiculous token generators show up.Sacred Mesa, Jade Mage, Ant Queen, Moorland Haunt...
