its just a 3/3 flyer with daily regimen. Why is it mythic?

Because its a three mana 3/3 Flyer with DR. Especially with all of Alara's mana fixing, this often drops on turn three or four, and trust me, she's absolutely insane that early in the game.

I would have to agree. She's great. Drop her on turn three, play Knight of New Alara on turn four, and on turn five put two more counters on her, and she's an 8/8. I pulled Jenara during a pre-release tournament, Nice!

idk about her, I suppose she has some potential but I think for now, she will be in my EDH, will have to have a talk between her and Rafiq about who is commander

Great for EDH... and a turn 6 kill on her own (or earlier with Noble Hierarch).

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.6/5.0)(6 votes)
Her biggest fears are Terminate and Cruel edict that early on, and like you've said, with as many mana fixers as there are in Standard currently, she's got a giant Bullseye on her forehead. Soon as she drops, I'm going to Terminate if I can. If not, I snakeform her, she looses all her ability counters, and is back to her original self once end of turn is resolved.
DairyQueen

Drake, Snakeform will not cause her to lose her counters; it even talks about that in the rulings for snakeform. She will just lose her ability to make more for the turn.

In my Naya-Bant Hybrid I dropped a Knotvine mystic, then dropped Jenara, and kept on using the Knotvine's ability to make her insanely powerful. Great card. Cool art.

great, but it just cryes for terminate...if you menage to give her shroud-the game is yours
Anyhow, Jenara often drops turn two due to Birds of Paradise or Noble Hierarch, and while most can handle her, the thing is you have to handle her. She can't just be ignored. And that means less removal for later, and less pressure on the Bant player right now. Certainly a good card.

Yeah, she's vulnerable to kill spells all over the place, but what all do you need in a card? She's three mana, and can easily take the game. She's a super powerful threat that generally has to be dealt with. Good card. That being said, I'll probably never play her.

People keep pointing out how quickly she gets hit by Terminate (or other creature kill), but that still means your opponent is down a removal spell for later, and it only cost you three mana to do it. And if they CAN'T kill her, they'll pay for it.

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
Its not as simple as just dropping her on turn 3 wait for a good time to play her. If your opponent uses Pacifism or similar cards, wait till' a later turn. If you fear Terror and Terminate wait as well. Hindering Light or Rebuff the Wicked will be useful in such cases.
bowlofgumbo
★★★★☆ (4.2/5.0)(7 votes)
Yeah I don't know why people waste time typing comments that describe her susceptability to Terminate. Unless a creature is lucky enough to have Shroud or Protection that's always the case, so why act as though it's a specific downside to the card? Being able to get a 3/3 flier for {G}{W}{U} is utterly ridiculous, that's why she's mytic and that's why you can stop all this garbage about your Doom Blades. Any card like Jenara that demands removal quickly is going to help you win, end of story.

I don't know if I feel this card is mythic, it's a 3 mana feral hydra in different colors, albeit a stronger feral hydra. Really good in decks that have some ability attached to them based on counters, like bramblewood paragon or etc.

This card owns in my Rafiq EDH deck. Throw her down, add Aboshan's Desire for effect (with Threshold, of course), add a few counters, have Rafiq wander out and watch the doublestrike-shroud-flying crazy angel lady beat a guy to death.
The same deck also has Akroma in it, though, which is a better top deck, but still.

For some reason on a lot of great creature cards, there are a lot of posts stating, "Falls to 'post removal spell here'". Either they don't like creatures, are afraid of them and are fantasizing about how kill them, or they are too afraid to lose their very, very cool creature. Spread the word and stop these posts! They provide NO insight.
Jenara is a classic. Her ability is bonkers and she flies. With Rafiq out next turn, then a Battlegrace after that, she creates a very nice curve! Not to mention, I'm partial to angels. : )

she demands respect and demands control. Even if they do have malestrom pulses, doom blades, or termates, or even into the roil, point is she demands it. Thats why u have 4-3 of her for backup. If there not lucky enough to pull removal you can pump out some seriouse damage. Great artwork, Flavortext, and a new bad-a-s-s angel card, what more could we ask for?
I'd love her if I liked bant, I mean, looking at Zendikar, it's like the multikickers on the one drops, but where you can play it every turn. Also, I noticed the daily regimen thing, but what I don't get is why daily regimin is where it is, I mean, that ability is what makes her epic, how can you put that on any creature for one mana and call that card an uncommon? As I see it, Daily regimen is broken, Jenara is well and awsome.
I want daily regimen
And yes, she dies to removal, but guess what, good cards die to removal, that's why removal it's there people, what kind of world would we live in if we only used cards that were hard to kill?

Part of the reason she is mythic is that she is a legendary creature. Wizards has stated that legendary creatures will tend to fall into the mythic category to make them less abundant in drafts.
That said, Jenara is amazing. Begs me to make an angel deck.

@Kindulas: The reason this is awesome and Daily Regimen is not is because 1) this starts out as a 3/3 flyer for 3, which is amazing, and 2) if this gets removed you've only lost one card. With Daily Regimen you have to spend 7 mana to get the same effect that you would from a Boar Umbra, and without the totem armor protection. Besides, Daily Regimen was just a reverse version of Torture, which was a HOMELANDS card, so I think it's safe to forget about it.
This card is a rediculous EDH general, and anyone who's been using Rafiq over her is a fool.
You're playing green. There is absolutely no reason she shouldn't be a 5/5 flier turn 4.

@Dr.Pingas: Unless you have something to protect her, she dies very fast in EDH. I have found that having Rafiq support the damage of another creature is just as effective. Like dropping even a Mulldrifter with Rafiq in play can mean 6 Damage, which for Jenara would cost you another 6 mana to get her to that damage level.
Generally, dropping your general on the first turn you can play them is not a good tactic unless you have Greaves or something. Both are great and require different cards to support them or different tactics. I would not say one is better than the other.

I don't get why she's so good.
All I see is a color heavy flier with an expensive ability that is strictly worse than Ajani's Pridemate.
Sure, she gets big... Eventually. But to actually use her, it takes seven manna you have to sink into her before she can even match a Serra Angel Except without Vigilance. For that you could have an Iridescent Angel. For a 6/6 it costs nine, for that, you could have Reya Dawnbringer or Iona, Shield of Emeria...
I suppose you could argue that you could pay the cost over time... But even then. If you don't have something better to spend two manna on every turn than a two cost Battlegrowth Than your deck needs pruning.
@ Zoah .. Either your a damn fine troll or you just said some of the dumbest sh*t i ever heard.. Ajani's pridemate strictly better than this, you have to be kidding. You may not realize but THIS IS THE ONLY 3/3 Flier for CMC 3 IN THE GAME WITH NO DRAWBACKS AT ALL (not to mention her awesome +1/+1 counters ability), you may futher not realize that the 'Bant' decktype is in those colors and she is very easy to drop turn 3, or turn two *cough Noble Hierarch cough* and im also guessing you have never played EDH (now called Commander), as stated by many others she would make a devastating general. Having said all that, if you were trolling you got me good

@Zoah: She's a 3/3 flier for GU with a Daily Regimen built in. She can dish out small damage early on, then ramp it up to higher and higher amounts as the game wears on.
And that's game right there. (You use that extra mana turn 5 for Brave the Elements in case they have removal).

@ sonorhC: The asura were demons in Hinduism, but they weren't always evil in other mythologies. For instance, in early Vedic texts, the asura are, I think, merely gods of social and moral phenomena, and, in Zoroastrianism, they are known as ahura, who are, I think, forces of good. Still, though, it is weird that she is an angel.
If we suppose that Daily Regimen is worth then this is a 3/3 flier for .

Very good as a commander, as I'm sure many have said or seen. Built in evasion, in colours that have excessive pump spells, not to mention exalted, and builds herself over time if need be. Can easily win games on turn 5 through commander damage.

@lanceofzolong How do you plan to get all of that white mana? That mean you have to drop 2 dual lands and then a plains at the very least. The chance you get all of that is ridiculously low, even though it's just 2 non-lands. Maybe if you had a ton of fetch lands to fetch ravnica dual lands you could do it reliably, but have fun spending $500+ on your mana base.

Absolutely love this chick. As soon as my play group switch from 60 card to EDH she was one of the first Commanders I built a deck around. The low mana cost makes her easy to recast if she dies. But I just wait to play her until I have something to protect her, Whisper silk cloak, Protective Bubble, Lightening Grieves, Champions Helm, Shield of the oversoul ect. Then toss out a Knight of new Alara and watch everybody scramble for an answer.
