What confuses me is that they aren't exiled, but sacrificed at end of turn. What's the flavor on that? After the revolt's over, do they go off and kill each other? :Ia
They revolt for one turn, then die. I'm sure that's going to achieve something great here.

Now now peasants, I know Margaret Thatcher's tenure has seen a lot of unemployment, but the community charge will help us rebuild and- oh. You're revolting. Great.
Thought it would be pretty good - used it at the pre-release, it's out of control. With Goldnight Commander, or even Riot Ringleader, you can evaporate your opponent in one swing. Easy high pick.

"Run this in your Boros token deck with Burn at the Stake. You won't regret it."
If you get to 8 mana in a boros deck, you've already lost.

I'll leave it to you guys to find cards that interact well with the fact that they're sacrificed at end of turn instead of exiled like most temporary tokens. OK, other than Grave Pact; I'll give you that idea for free.
There were some very lethal turns thanks to those three little guys.

Really nice for a common. It interacts well with aggro battlecry decks, and I love the flavor of its synergy with Unruly Mob: after spending a turn doing their own thing, the thatchers join the unruly mob.

Four-of going straight into my Hellrider deck. Dropping this thing with a Champion of the Parish on the board will be fun also.

Once they have served their purpose, they make nice food for Falkenrath Aristocrat too...

Regardless of how Maro dotes on this card, I fail to see any value in it aside from a few Limited tricks in a R/W deck.
@steev ... We are the individual eleven... err... Three!

Way underrated card by most. The most impressive thing about this is its element of surprise: you're getting three hasty humans for one card when their army's all tapped out. Then you just equip/soulbond/intangible virtue till they hit hard!

Very reminiscent of Waylay. The creatures are smaller, but that's because the waylay tokens were never meant to be used on offense.

If you're a UK player of a certain age and you don't immediately think "Miner's Strike" when you read that card name, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG. I for one am quite fond of Maggy's Mob. Saw some cute tricks at the prerelease with it, Kruin Striker, and Riot Ringleader.

This card is broken with all the creature-fall in this set. Not fun to play against.

Turn 4: Drop Goldnight Commander Turn 5: Drop this, swing for 17.
End of turn 3 you have a 5/5 Champion and 4/4 Mob and have potentially done a decent amount of damage.

They pack quite a punch in the right deck, with Accorder Paladins or the Goldnight Commander you can surprise your opponent with a big swing. On their own they are over costed, but with the right deck they are a bargain. Just use them right, a great card.

AMAZINGLY underrated card. Now Boros Humans can win third-turn!
Turn 1: Plains, Champion of the Parish Turn 2: Plains, Champion of the Parish, Champion of the Parish. Attack with the first one (which is now a 3/3). Opponent goes to 17 Turn 3: Mountain, this card. You now have a 6/6, a 5/5, a 4/4, and 3 1/1s. If you attack with everything that's 18 damage, and your opponent would have lost.
Anyway, if you want to, you can save the tokens from sacrifice with Sundial of the Infinite.
Assuming you have each of those cards on the table, all as of yet unused, this one card turns the Champion into a 4/4 w/ a +3/+3 buff until end of turn (7/7 essentially), the Unruly Mob into a 4/4 until end of turn which becomes a permanent 4/4, nukes the opponent for 3, and creates 3 4/4 hasty tasty treats, and the Goldnight becomes a 5/5. That's kind of ridiculous but that's R/W for ya.
Also, there are other cards in the block (in black or red) and whose names I cannot recall that have a specific trigger for whenever a creature is sacrificed. Or maybe that was back in Alara....I can't really remember. I'm not referring to Morbid necessarily (not that it doesn't trigger that too). I wanna say its some kind of enchantment that reads something like "whenever a creature you control is sacrificed you may pay 1}. if you do you may draw a card." or a player takes a damage. something like that.

Haste was intentionally left off the Human token to avoid having to add a text box so that more of the art could be shown since haste is rarely relevant after the first turn.
This with Goldnight Commander is pretty easy to put together in a draft. If you're lucky enough to find Dual Casting, grab it. It's pretty hard to answer six 7/7 for 2RR by turn 6.
If you're playing standard, you got a win by turn 3 if you luck out and pull this along with three Champion of the Parish in your first three draws.
It looks harmless and most people don't know what to do with this in draft. Three 1/1 humans with haste and die at the end of the turn seem like a little weak to be paying 2R for.
Nice touch that they are sacrificed rather than exiled for village cannibals

I have a question. So lets say you cast this spell and then attack with these creatures. Do you have time to sacrifice these tokens after damage is dealt to a different source, say Falkenrath Aristocrat. I'm really just curious about the "beginning of next end step" ruling.

"The thatchers are revolting!" "Yes, yes they are."
You don't even get to keep the tokens. Also it's a sorcery so no combat tricks. 2/5

Why wasn't this ever played in top tier Blood Artist decks? The swing for three, gain three, lose three for 3cmc on turn three seems pretty insanely powerful (and three oriented. Maybe Jim Carrey could star in a movie about it).

I'm thinking the new Battallion mechanic from Gatecrash
I don't understand the flavor of them dying at the end of the turn. Did they just give up their revolt? Do they fall on their pitchforks?

Moxxy: I think the flavor is that these guys are farmers, they can only revolt only so long before they have to return home to the fields for harvest. I'm not going to go into a history lecture but back in the day before permanant/professional armies, the army could only fight in the summer after the crops had been sown and before cultivation. So Innistrad has this Midievel times/ Dark Ages feel to it, so yeah, it should make sense. (after Rome fell it would be years before nations in Europe would have enough money and resources to field a regular army)

Strong card mind you. Grab 'em with Signal Pest and Goblin Wardriver while you still can!

Another few cards you might want to look for to draft with this is Kessig Malcontents and Vigilante Justice. As already stated, Dual Casting goes great with this and Goldnight Commander. Rares to look out for are Cathar's Crusade, Riders of Gavony. Then just load up with red and white weenies with abilities to round if off like Cathedral Sanctifier and Devout Chaplain. You're pretty much set to get into the top three for the night with that.
"Yes, yes they are."
