Bottled Cloister and this is just madness : You organize the stack so that you draw seven new cards, then reclaim your hand that you exiled last round.
Anything that says "Skip your draw step" is guaranteed to be fun.

And someone on mtgcommander.net brought up Demonic Collusion. Sadly, no green spells have a similar discard buyback.

Kinda spendy @ 7cmc AND 3 diff colors... would have been nice if she were hexproof or had some kind of ping ability.

The art on this card is just amazing. I'm not normally one for interpreting all this, but I can't keep quiet about how fantastically this represents everything that is GU, BG, and UB. To her right is an orb of black, she herself is decked out in a leafy green, and to her right is an orb of blue. Her face is the security and self-assurance one expects of a creature that's both 4/4 and has deathtouch, and possess all the grace and intelligence one finds inherent in both B and U (and even the ferocity of G in her hair). Even down to her abilities- she doesn't cast a spell, she doesn't summon or enchant or trick things out- she just pushes you to your own natural limits: the power of the natural world at its darkest, at its best.
All three colors, the philosophy of G/B/U, the flavor of gorgons and wizards- it has it all. I hope to god they use this artist again- he is on the ball!

Flavour and fun wise 5/5 but i couldn't give a full 5/5...its expensive, fragile and needs to be build around....wait scrap that last comment about rating it down for being built around...holy crap...
Shes is comprised of the 3 best EDH colours....tutors, remvoal, ramp, draw, counter spells, counter abilities, permanat desruction/take control, taking extra turns general and she is a cracky threshhold, madness, discard, dredge enabler.
These are the best colors for card draw, so she makes perfect sense. The choice for the general of my second commander deck was easy.

I once had this on the field while my 2 opponents were top-decking, I won that game ;)
If she survives just untill your next turn, she is more than worth it. The card advantage she provides is ridiculous, drawing envying gazes from all other players. Glad i chose Devour for Power, all 3 generals are indane!

Character Bio: Thanks to their petrifying gaze, gorgons make few allies. But many seek out the gorgon sage Damia, whose breadth of magical knowledge rivals that of any archmage—and whose prices cut deep. Many have thought of forcing secrets out of her; her statuary is littered with the stone forms of those who've tried.
Alright so I am deconstructing this deck. I ran into my first problem with it last night. I powered her out quick with a sol ring and a grim monolith. I had a hand full of fat creatures. during my 2nd opponents turn he replicated a shattering spree and killed both my artifacts. I had no way of drawing cards for the entirety of the game. my hand literally remained at 7 full of cards I was unable to cast for the rest of the game. they just took the damage because 4 is not all that threatening. I know this probably does not happen all that much but 1 time seems too many for me.

@ShiftyShifts, that's why you don't get her out until you have a form of discard to feed her. My favorite combo is Damia and Zombie Infestation with Kozilek and Ullamog for recycling purposes.
I am surprised to see no one has mentioned manabond yet. Like null profusion, it's a great discard engine, let's you put down all your lands and then you will draw seven cards your next upkeep. Plus it only costs one forest!

Seems like a natural fit with Library of Alexandria- you'll be drawing cards no matter what, as long as you haven't made your hand size larger than 7...

You don't wanna run this with a lot of fat spells, you want to be largely low in cost so its easier to dump portions of your hand before next turn to get maximum benefit of her draw, loading with 1-for-1 spells like Go For The Throat and Naturalize with low cost mana artifacts like Coalition Relic, and you wanna run some discard engines as well like Psychatog . Board control is also ideal for when you first get her out there, so your opponents don't just kill her.
One card I was looking at for late game hand suppression was Words of Waste, where you forgo your massive hand draw in favor of tapping down some mana and making your opponents discard large portions of their hands. You wouldn't need to do this often because they will soon be top-decking where you will still be getting large amounts of draw. And then if you really wanna be mean, combine this tactic with Geth's Grimoire, and maybe Consecrated Sphinx, to force them to dump anything they cannot immediately cast. Yes, people have threatened to kick my ass for using this strategy. :3
ShiftyShifts: If you take apart every deck that has a bad game, you might as well give up Magic. Bad things happening occasionally is kinda part of the game.
This card is in the same colors as Conundrum Sphinx and Necropotence. And there is probably a stupid broken Green draw spell I haven't memorized, but have heard of. Oath of Druids? Sylvan Library? One of those old wierd Green cards was pretty good at drawing, I thought for sure....
just in case any of you were unsure what you should be doing with this. Funny thing: if it wasn't for Necropotence, I would say this card had roughly 0 Gorgon flavor beyond the art.
However, BECAUSE of Necropotence, I always associate 'skip your draw step' with 'you are about to do something so evil, it took the deaths of 1000 innocents just to find a DECODER to the MAP that led you to the KEY to the VAULT with the actual evil inside it. A large amount of death will ensue when you open that vault.
Also because of Necropotence, I assume that anything that says 'skip your draw step' causes your library to shit cards into your hand.
Oh, and Necropotence's art is like a Stone Skull. Really, this card owes half of it's essence to Necropotence. To not use Necropotence with this is to disrespect them both.
Surprised nobody's said this yet: Archmage Ascension.
Yes, it's a huge target for removal, but what enchantment isn't? And while it can be slow to get going in anything short of an "I draw cards" deck where the entire purpose of the deck is to draw cards, the fact that you can easily draw 2+ on each of your turns with Damia makes up for it.
Once the Ascension is active and Damia's on the field, you get to refill your hand with any cards you want at the start of your turn.
Raven's Crime(or any retrace spell, really) is extremely helpful for getting all of those lands out of your hand. The mentioned Forbid is absolutely broken, too. But the card that prompted me to rebuild my Damia deck was Alchemist's Refuge, which allowed me to make pretty much a straight counter/removal deck and still be able to play win conditions.

Played right, this reads "at the beginning of your upkeep, draw 7 cards." That should cost more than 7 mana, and the 4/4 deathtouch body is gravy.
Damia, Dream Halls, Null Profusion, Laboratory Maniac. I'll just let you think about that for a minute.

I realize with sudden horror that drawing lots of cards also means Dredging lots of cards. And because Dredge is a replacement effect, you can basically guarantee having less than 7 cards in hand per turn. Holy moly. Though, between Manabond and Life from the Loam, a Lands deck is rather fun too.

Such a great commander for yard-based decks. With a discard engine, she combos nicely with all the Golgari stuff from Ravnica and RtR blocks, not to mention Necrotic Ooze.

I believe Damia to be the best Relentless Rats commander available. {G} for ramp, Bloodbond March, and assorted shenanigans such as Doubling Chant. {U} for protection and copying abilities. {B} for the rats, obviously. And a draw ability that lets you just dump rats, then dump more rats, then dump MORE RATS. Color fix is a bit of a pain, but as long as you don't want {B} on your opponent's turns and you don't want {U} on your turn it's probably manageable (Oh hey, there's the design rationale behind River of Tears!)

Thought I'd mention Diviner's Wand. Equips to Damia for free when she enters play and can potentially pump her up to an 11/11 flying, deathtouch with just her ability, even more if you want to dump some mana into the wand itself. Seems like a pretty ideal equipment for her.

I use her as a general for an EDH deck, and my playgroup hates it only because Omniscience is also in the deck.
Can't say I blame them. Once Omniscience lands, I can almost dump my entire hand. Lands can get in the way sometimes, but that's what Azusa, Lost but Seeking is for.

If you have her as a general and land her with protection of some sort, you probably have won. Seriously, the amount of card advantage she creates is disgusting.

It doesn't threaten to discard your hand to death like Jin-gitaxias, Core Augur sometimes does, and it is great for cards like Lorescale Coatl and Psychosis Crawler. Favourite general ever.
