Overextend twice as hard! Filter out the creatures from your deck before your opponent sweeps the field! all hatred aside, this looks good in casual, especially if your group thinks day of judgment is unfun. If it was an instant, if it was less mana, if it couldn't be countered, and everything would be okay. on a completely different note, this art looks GREAT for Wayne England. Devouring Swarm and this both look miles better than the rest of previous work.

6 is nothin for green! Not saying it will be tournament playable but this thing looks fun! Another note, Relentless Rats wasn't reprinted, that could've been fun. Well still can be, just not in standard. (I think there might be a short time you can use both m11 and m12...?)

I saw an expensive green rare with the word "doubling" in the title, and I got excited. I then realized that it was not Doubling Season and I became disappointed. Not that's there's anything wrong with this card, per se. But I think Doubling Season would make a great reprint in a core set -- it's flavorful, intuitive, popular, and combos with all those planeswalkers that seem to be the focus of these sets now. I'm sure many would welcome something being done to drive down that card's ridiculous price tag.
Wow, they gave green wicked creature support in this core set. Guess that what happens when every third white card printed seems to exile them!

Just make sure you run Fresh Meat (and have the mana open for it) so you're not completely screwed when your opponent nukes the field. Interestingly enough, if your Mimic Vat spits out an awesome creature token (let's say Primeval Titan for example) that is in your deck, you'd be able to tutor up anotherPrimeval Titan, despite the fact that it's a token, since the token has the name etc.
You can play an Overgrown Battlement on turn two, then play another one on turn three (probably using Green Sun's Zenith) and then play this on turn four to search up for the other two Battlements. Turn five: 21 manas.

I think this just replaced Genesis Wave in my Green/White Ally deck.
Genesis Wave is more flexible; I can throw it out early, like turn 3, when I have 8 mana to pull 5 permanents early, which probably means 2-3 allies and a land or two. Or I can use it on turn 7 when I have 18+ mana to pull 12-15 allies/planeswalkers/artifacts/enchantments/lands.
Doubling Chant won't grab unneeded lands, send Instants/Sorceries to the GY and also grows with the # of Allies in play. Safer to use cards like Overwhelming Stampede instead of a permanent like Garruk or Beastmaster Ascension. It won't pull any Ally not already in play, but now I can take out 1-2 Allies in order to squeeze in a couple more Green Sun's Zeniths' so I can grab the ones I want.
I like.

Does each creature you search for count as another instance of searching your library? As in, if someone has Leonin Arbiter out, do you have to pay 2 for every creature?

@ffang Clarion Ultimatium can search for permenants. When i poped it in my non-exalted bant deck back in alara i usally got 1-2 more oblion rings, 1-2 more journy to nowhere, along with creatures. And in a bant deck in alara 3 color cost wasnt that bad.
Soooo... if this is used on werewolves... would you put the card in play based on what side is facing up?
Example:
I cast doubling chant. I have a Mayor of Avabruck in play on his Howlpack Alpha alpha side. When I search for a card in the deck do I put the card into play as Howlpack Alpha or Mayor of Avabruck?

To the guy asking about werewolves- I dont think you can play this card when your wolves are flipped cause when you go to search for their names you wont find them, cause the names in your library are the human side. I think you gotta play this when theyre humans.
this would be totally useless in the EDH decks, but otherwise, this is excellent.
as long as you have 4 of a creature in your deck, and not random creatures (like I do, sadly), you can basically steamroll your oppoment.

Question : You search for each card in play : So if you have 2x time the same card in play, may you get the 2 other from the deck in play ?
Say you have a Relentless Rats deck, you have 5 rats in play, may you get 5 more rats out ?

I have a question about this card:
Say I have 4 creatures out, and 1 of them is legendary... and for the sake of my question, I actually do have a second dupilcate of that legendary in my deck. Since the card reads "For EACH creature, you MAY search"... can I choose to only search for duplicates of the 3 non-legendary creatures, then choose not to do that (for obvious reasons) with the 1 legendary? Or am I forced to get the 2nd legendary as well, thus sending both of them to the graveyard?

"For each creature you control" Yes, if you have 2 Llanowar Elves in play, you may use Doubling Chant to bring 1 more Llanowar Elves into play for each 1 that you already have in play, for a total of 4 in play.
"you may search your library" You may choose to not find a copy of a given creature, including Legends.
"for a creature with the same name" As long as the name of a creature token you control is the same name as a creature card in your library: yes, you may bring out that creature card.
I'm seriously wondering if the rating isn't so low (3.9) because the card is too good. I mean, I think it's about time the designers started expanding the game horizontally rather than vertically. The cards aren't just different from those that have come before. They're almost always better - and muchbetter. Why can't we just have cards that are different, without being clearly and obviously better than older cards?
Maybe the low rating has a lot to do with the fact that this card isn't incredibly fun for the person playing it or for the opponents.
No, seriously, play this in EDH . With The Mimeoplasm . And Relentless Rats . You'll love it <3

So, the upcoming Shadowborn Apostle in M14 may be a hint to the advent of a cycle of "basic creatures", one in every color. Black fetches Demons, white may fetch Angels, red Dragons... and Green? Beasts? Anyway, while obviously not Standard-legal, this card with the hypothetical green Beast-or-whatever summoner... NICE!

This is how this usually works in my green deck...
Turn 1: Forest, Llanowar Elf Turn 2: Forest, Explore, Forest, use elf and remaining land to cast overgrown battlement Turn 3: Forest, tap all our for mana for doubling chant. Turn 4: Access to 9 mana XD Not the best, but for casual play it's pretty awesome...
Late game it's even crazier, 4 overgrown battlements alone is 16 mana...

I thought of how to play this in EDH. What you need is: Riku on the field with a bunch of tokens of your stuff (or Minion Reflector and a whole lot of open mana and your tokens on the field). A sacrifice outlet (Goblin Bombardment would work) and a shuffle your graveyard into library effect, such as Elixir of Immortality or Psychic Spiral. you sacrifice your non-token creatures, shuffle them back into your library then play this, finding all of the cards again. Improbable, expensive, easy to interrupt. Perfect.
