Great for cascade decks, you get to draw when you play the cascade spell and when you play the bonus spell, add a Blood Clock and a Spellbook to make sure you have a draw every turn.

I'd say it's more powerful in green because of its mana ramp and cheap creatures. But this artwork is superior in every way. Kev Walker <3

Godly Artwork. Beautiful time shifted card, I abuse it quite nicely in my cleric deck to flood the board quickly, seize control and hold it. Also stops you from decking yourself (passively).

@ ratrase: It's a combo card, and the turn you play it,you should win.

Another way to avoid getting sans-handed with this card in play is to use Phyrexian Arena. It also increases your effective hand size to three, since you'll be able to draw a card despite not having a draw step.

Other cards to use with this one? Probably something with Retrace so you can keep the faucet running even if you end up with all lands at some point. And if you can play multiple lands a turn, it might be worth it to try to play through your entire deck and finish your opponent with a 20-point Consume Spirit.

Null Profusion should be played with Phyrexian Arena and Mana Severance. Phyrexian allows you to get back in the game, should you lose your cards to a discard spell, and Mana Severance keeps you from topdecking anything you don't need.

I like how this card inadvertently hoses mill decks.

Dangerous against discard spells? Under the same logic, wouldn't people disregard Necropotence, since it's dangerous against Burn spells?

The fact is no, because if you intend to make a deck around a card, you will find ways to nullify the problem. During Necro-winter there's plenty of players uses Urza's Bauble to help them draw cards or use Nevinyrral's Disk to destroy Necro in dire situations, I think the same method could be applied here.

make this an artifact with liquimetal coating and give it to your opponent with Bazaar Trader. Then, FINISH HIM with mind rot.

People get seriously mad when playing without a hand

Triggers on cards with flashback, since flashback is casting the card (albeit from a different zone than usual). In addition to the obvious madness/ hellbent, throw in some Crippling Fatigue or Dread Return, which will go really well in such decks anyway. That way you can save yourself from that mean old Mind Rot player.

I totally want to make a deck that uses this and Rooftop Storm to dump my entire library out on the battlefield and make my opponent cry.

This card SCREAMS blackness. It would have been a travesty to have timeshifted it to any other color.

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.5/5.0) (1 vote)
ok, I'm confused. Why is this rated as high as it is? Your opponent plays 1 discard spell and your locked out of the rest of your library permanently. and because of the max hand size limit, this card doesn't let you plan plays out.

I see it like a black Future Sight. I like the Sight better than this, but this is good nonetheless...

4/5

Edit: turtleknite: you wouldn't play this card without a plan. You can have some flashback card in your deck to help to recover from discard, or something like that. It's a risky card, but with a great advantage!

Quick question: How does hand size and this interact with madness?
'Cause if it's the way I think it is...Damn. That'd be painful. I almost feel bad thinking about throwing in a Call to the Netherworld.

I disagree with the blanket assertion that "it's more powerful in green," but I absolutely concur with your claim "Kev Walker <3." Amazing artwork.

I don't think the synergy with Dredge needs to be explained. In a casual or Commander environment this is probably one of the most powerful Dredge engines in the entire game. In casual combine it with Bloodbond March and it gets ridiculously out of control, even more-so when you use Blood Funnel and a few copies of Golgari Germination along with a few Nether Traitors to fuel the Funnel. Also use Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cabal Coffers to provide the mana for the engine. In other words, Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge Dredge

combos with {B}{R} storm decks, cast your mana acceleration, draw, rinse and repeat ^^
dragonstorm to victory!!!!

Notice that if you get a second Profusion you'll actually draw two per card; which is sweet. I'm thinking of attempting to build a Tendrils of Agony deck around this and loadsa mana acceleration.

Raven's crime is a good combo with this as you can destroy opponents' hands as you go. Again, run this with enough mana acceleration cards and you should be able to jump from card to card into your win cons. Consider splashing {U} for Cloud of Faeries, Snap, and similar. Any spell that builds storm count efficiently builds this card efficiently; and thusly they have excellent synergy.

Remember that it turns all your spells into cantrips; which is also pretty sweet. Card advantage kill spells, card neutral bounces, card advantage single CMC draw spells.

God damn it. I was looking for a card with this exact effect—for my blue white merfolk. In addition, 6 mana is just to far above the curve for my merfolk deck—I need something I can drop turn 4.

Still, an excellent card. Makes my inner Johnny quiver with excitement.

This is the timeshifted version of Recycle.

this seems ridiculously powerful if u combine storm and cascade. With 1 or 2 mana spells, and u drop a spellbook type effect into play after this is out. All u need is some card draw effects like sign in blood to advance your card drawing. Makes me want to build a deck around this!

If you play this with Reliquary Tower, what's your maximum hand size?
Dankirk
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
I'm tempted to play this in a deck with absolutely no other draw mechanisms. Would give the deck just the draw power it's asking. However, a single discard spell and I would basicly be signing my own death warrant.

It just occurred to me, that this card, and Recycle, the original one, are absolutely positively -NOT- friends with someone else's Notion Thief.

Just because of that I am going to make sure I have a kill spell before I try to go off with this in EDH...
