I like this card, even though it's a bit pricey you can steal your opponent's most powerful artifact creature or put some annoying artifact. I give it a 3.5, would be better if it costed less.

or if you could search your own library, considering how many decks don't run artifacts.

This is arguably better than Mind Control, and is a great contestant for the sideboard. Just use it, and pray as hard as you can that your opponent runs a Darksteel Colossus.

Forgeling, you fail at reading. Search OPPONENT'S deck not yours.

MTGFreak, Forgeling says if you could search your own library, suggesting that he merely thinks that it would be better if it did do that.
I did have to read his comment twice to get what he was saying, but it seems that he posted right after Shiduba, to add to his comment. However, the comment system doesn't work in order of posting from oldest to newest, so it is a bit confusing
in other words, no MTGFreak, you are a failure at reading

A friend of mine started running these in his deck just too tick me off. Sure the casting cost is a little high but for 5 mana he could steal my Akroma's Memorial or sundering titan.
The artifact you steal is put into play instead of into your hand, which means you don't have to pay it's mana cost. You can look through your opponents library and see all their cards, giving you the advantage of knowing their strategy. No surprises. The artifact should take away from their strategy as well, possibly breaking several of their planned combos.

@brunsbr103: If you scroll down a bit, you'll see that the comment system is in fact also sorted from newest to oldest.
Though I prefer Bribery in most cases, this card is pretty powerful by itself, especially in EDH. In fact, in EDH, it's arguably better.

Considering all the Blightsteel Colossus users there'll be in EDH, this just got a lot nicer :3

I would use it to steal a copy of their Jitte and then equip it on my creature.
Sure, it is a bit situational, but it would be so amazing to pull it off.
