It's back, hooray!!!

More powerful but not quite as versatile as the new Downpour, though.

This + Talrand in a U/W control deck with some intangible virtue and Favorable Winds.

Free swings!

I won many a game with this in my myr/blightsteel deck... Glad to see it came back just in time for a little more pwnage before grand architect leaves standard.

"Free swings!"

Oh god, I'm not a new player, but when I saw this card, I thought it'd just tap the opponent's creatures to let my creatures unblocked.
Then I just realised they're not untapping for this turn. It is indeed free swingS (not just ONE free swing!)

Heh. I KNEW that this card would be reprinted. I PREDICTED it. Reason - Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, the Blue Planeswalker from Avacyn Restored. Her second effect with this. O.o

This card freakin wins games in limited. If your opponent doesn't draw anything relevant, it essentially it's basically a time warp for 4 mana.

I really want to make this work with Sunblast Angel! No luck yet, though.

If you use this at your first main phase, you basically get to swing unblocked TWICE unless they more creatures or something. GREAT card. I've yet to combo it with sunblast angel!

Very powerful card. Fits nicely in my pro champion mono blue control deck.

Glad to see it reprinted, although in a group game the player targeted with Sleep is usually ***ed enough to pack up and walk out.

Blue's equivalent of Overrun, and a fitting tool at that. Absolutely ruins a player's day, almost guaranteed to either be a win in and of itself, or give the blue player enough time to come up with something better.

This card is strong and fairly priced.

Hypersonic Dragon says:

You are getting sleepy... (At the beginning of your attack phase...)

why is this 3.6/5?! I lost at least 5 drafts to this!

Wow, wouldn't it be great if blue had access to greens creatures? this would be better than Overrun in that case as you essentially get two free swings with maybe 1 blocker on the second, that said I wonder what fresh hell would combine big creatures with control magic? Oh, right.

Simic you so crazy.

An absolute bane to play against.

I love how this unintentionally matches up with Simic's flavor, I mean simic's majority is merfolk, elves, and experiments. It makes sense that they would have a mage trained to induce sleep before application of biomancy, and even better that he could induce it on Simic's enemies.

Mechanically, it is perfect for a simic alpha strike too!

Leyline of anticipation + this.
Tamiyo + this.
Wins games if you know how to do it.

Muhahaha. I just love it when an opponent will win next turn and then Sleep. They generally kick me, but still. Muhahaha

Buys an entire turn against swingy creatures, and absolutely hilarious to use in a multiplayer game as a setup.

If you've got enough swing yourself, this could be the game...And then you play another. I guarantee this'd be 4.5/5 if it was just 3Blue, cause any deck splashing blue with beefy creatures would pack it and never look back.

My friend put this in his Panoptic Mirror deck.

He's not my friend anymore.

(well not really, but it does win the game for him.)

Deducted a bit for being an absolutely awful card to play against.

For extra fun, Quicken at your opponent's main phase.

@Winhert There are so many more fun ways to win with Tamiyo though; Time Warp + Tamiyo = instant win, Braid of Fire + Tamiyo = ALL THE BOLTS, Ornithopter + Tamiyo + Leyline of Anticipation = say hello to your new chump-blocking friend.

What impresses me the most about this card is they managed to make a 'sleep' spell kinda devastating! Think about it, in a video game with a magic system (like any Final Fantasy), there will be a sleep spell, and it will suck.

The trope is called "useless useful spell". MtG's version of Sleep is not that kind of spell!

I'd say an "accurate" sleep spell would be something like:

{U} Instant, "Choose target creature. Flip a coin, if you win the flip, tap that creature."
