3cc for badass tankmanship. Pair it with something like High Grounds for some solid line-holding.

This card with Nuisance Engine was a really good combination ... 20 or so little 0/1 creatures made 7/8 s!

This is a field wiping card here, you can completely destroy somebody's entire army if you have enough creatures.

Awesome Flavor, Art, and Rules. I'm very impressed. Worth using in many white decks.

When one of your opponents attacks, cast ragged veins on it, then block that creature with all of yours then cast this. Usually it is enough to kill them.

This might be the whitest flavor text I've ever seen.

The effect combined with the very understated flavor text make this an automatic 5/5 stars for me.

The card itself is rather impressive, probably warranting something between 3.5 and 4.5.

Perfectly elegant card and it emphasized the white focus on combat in Kamigawa block.

My only slight criticism would be that some people initially read this as 'target blocking creature' for some reason. Maybe they can't believe how good it is?

Well he's a polite guy. I'm pretty sure if I were a surreal spirit and someone said that to me, I'd be all "That's cool bro. Gotta do what you gotta do."
Then I'd get slaughtered because he suddenly became a goon the likes of which I'd never seen before, as well as all of his buddies. But still, I wouldn't hold it against him.

It's really hard to believe that for one more colorless than Rally you get this effect as compared to that one. I guess Rally should have at least been a cantrip. It's interesting we haven't seen a variation on this card for some time or that none of them have ever made it to a core set.

Why even bother to Bar the Door if you can Hold The Line that effectively?

This, 6 creatures and an Altar of Dementia should give you a win (or make some poor bastard lose in multiplayer, and then lose yourself because you're all out of creatures).

YOU SHALL NOT PASS! O.O

I would say this card and Baneslayer Angel are the two absolute MUST-haves for anyone considering sideboarding hate against a Kaalia of the Vast. You also need a way to gain Flying or Reach.

I THINK one of the Imprint cards, either Spellweaver Helix or Panoptic Mirror, makes this the most rock solid Defense card, like, ever.
