...Oh god yes. If you've read my comment on Gutter Grime (which at the time of writing is the highest rated comment on that card) you'll know that I was upset that the token ooze card in the block was underpowered and clunky. Apparently somebody at Wizards read my comment and agreed with me, because this card is a dream come true. Yes, it's less combo-rific then the Grime, and yes I don't like the triple green mana cost, but honestly beyond that this card has no flaws. Amazing art, great flavor, and very good abilities. Because of this card, I wonder if it's possible to marry a piece of cardboard. Thank you Wizards employee who read my comment. If you'll excuse me, I'll be making at least two decks around this card.

He's great and all, but DAMN, 3 Forests! I started to type up my thoughts on the card when I reread it and noticed he gets a +1/+1 simply for attacking. So turn 4, when he's ready to go, he's already a 2/2. That's not bad. Though, you'd have to force the opponent to block it somehow, with a 2/2 creature. I suppose Lure will help now, but not if you're in Standard.
The trick with him is getting him to even kill anything, but since simply attacking is all it takes to make him grow, eventually they're gonna be throwing it chumps to stop the 5/5 from getting through. Now they have to deal with the 6/6, and then the 7/7...oh my.

i can see this card facing a lot of claustrophobias, skifsangs, and other tap effects. Nice card, but the card pool for the set has a lot of answers. Lovely in EDH or casual constructed though.

This one's going to get ugly.
This and Vorapede make me want to build a new mono-green deck.
Stupid M10 rules make it difficult to assign combat damage to a bunch of creatures and then Day of Judgment everything except the Ooze. I am suddenly very bitter about that change. Vault of the Archangel is too hard. :( If Lure were an artifact, Painsmith would be cool. Deadly Allure. Ooh, also Prey Upon.

The simplest way to force your opponent to block this is for it to be so big and nasty that he doesn't want to take the damage. Which will happen, as time goes on.
Or, of course, you could block with it, too. Any indestructible creature for 3 mana is pretty good (compare Darksteel Myr), even without the counter accumulation.

this card is fantastic, my main problem is that in standard its so terrible with too many ways to deal with it spread across too many colors... dismember, trip, all infect, wring flesh... ect ect...
Dont get me wrong, i love this card, its just not the right block for it to shine.

Really neat card! Seems like someone in R&D decided to revisit a card from long ago, Primordial Ooze, and fix the problems with it. I'm a big fan of this card, but I'm not sure how much play we'll see from it while Dismember and infect are still in the format. 5/5 for the beautiful flavor, art, and mechanics.

Awesome with Grappling Hook. Force a block, and double-strike it to ensure it's dead. That way, you're definitely netting at least 2 +1/+1's a turn. Throw in some proliferate, and you've got yourself a boss.

This is the most dangerous card in drafts. I really can't think of any other card that is as terrifying in a DKA + INN draft than this.
You could EASILY argue that so many other cards are more dangerous, but removal is hard to come by... never mind sacrifice removal (Tribute to Hunger and Liliana of the Veil <:( )
And even if you bounced it back to their hand, it still only costs 3 green.

This card is kind of funny. When playing with relatively low-powered deck(like me and my friends at school) it's no trick at all to run up 20 or 30 counters on this guy, and then throw out any artifact that gives it trample and lay waste.

It is possible to get this out on turn one - I have done this once, and it was a long shot, but it CAN be done. Forest + 2X Chancellor of the Tangle. Reveal them from your hand if you're lucky enough to get two in your opening hand, bang, three mana. Then you have an indestructible mower the entire game. I run this card with Lure too. I realize there are many ways to counter this creature, but none of my friends do so easily.

I love this guy in a Gruul deck! with cards like Pit fight and Prey Upon!! among other cards in my deck, its possibly one of the only ones that i got that just screamed aggro! though besides the fact that when your facing infect or counter decks, it can get annoying to see it reduced to a statue like by arrest or pacify, but if you get hex proof, you can sure get a card muncher!

This is an excellent card! So excellent, I bought 4 of them! Also makes a great card to attach to a Soul Foundry. Add in ways to easily give your creatures Trample, and your opponents are in for a quick lose. (Like Rancor, Horned Helm, etc.) And given that these are only 3 drop creatures, this should only be the beginning of something horrible.
@BryceCarmony Blue actually has some of the BEST defenses against these. They're called "shapeshifters". Just make your shapeshifter become a copy of the ooze. Then you have your own badass ooze! Vesuvan Doppelganger, and Sakashima the Impostor are two of my favorites. But Clone and Evil Twin are also decent for this.
@AvrageJoe Ruling for the card is that is that the one attacking gets the +1/+1 counter, same goes for when a creature dies from a predator ooze, only the one who had a hand in the killing, gets the +1/+1 counter. So what you state, wouldn't work that way.

This card is going to be amazing with the upcoming Nylea, God of the Hunt from Theros - not only do you get to exploit having a high concentration of indestructible creatures in the deck (Ulvenwald Tracker springs to mind), but Predator Ooze provides an extremely durable source of devotion to keep Nylea online and benefits greatly from receiving Trample in return.
Not only are all these cards perfectly viable in a vacuum, but they curve perfectly into each other too - you can drop a mana Elf on Turn 1, Predator Ooze on Turn 2 and have Nylea online with little fuss on Turn 3. That curve happens to continue into a Turn 4 Wolfir Silverheart, which is an 8/8 Trampler for 5 with Nylea on the field that can pair itself to your Ooze...

At one point in a commander game I sent this guy out on the battlefield next to Avacyn, and my opponents only had the resources to make me get rid of one indestructible creature. They did the obvious choice of making me sacrifice Avacyn and left pred.Ooze and me alone, thinking they had finished my board off. By the end of the game, I was swinging 32 damage their way and predator Ooze ate them all. The difference between him and the archangel? Avacyn is only ever an 8/8.
