I understand that Divine Verdict was slightly overcosted for an effect that no one wanted outside of limited, but I'm not sure halving the price and changing "destroy" to "sacrifice" was the right response... That said, I always appreciate new Gideon Jura flavor text and this is still a pretty powerful effect, even if it more than likely won't see constructed play.

This will happily slot into my Orzhov deck. Always looking for new ways to get rid of indestructible and Hexproof guys, especially at low CMC's for maximum extortability.
Great against that solo hex proofer with 4 rancors attached.

I like this card a lot.

It's ok. Fine for limited, so-so everywhere else. Of course, it's not far as good as wing shards. Now that card was great.

Fantastic. White removal that actually makes sense.

Oh man do the hexproof players hate this card. Already getting many ragequits in playtesting. So delightful.

I think people aren't realizing that your opponent controls which creature is sacrificed, so this card will pretty much never do what you want it to, especially since Exalted drops out of standard exactly when this pops in.

A white edict? I'm sold! Cheap enough that it will see competitive play, but the sacrifice part keeps it from being overpowered. Great design.

"So you want to double the counters on that Kalonian Hydra, huh? Yeah..."

I replaced dispense justice with this card as it is slightly better and cheaper (a bit more color heavy though) as I only got metalcraft once in a blue moon as I have only 4 artifacts in my extended bant flicker/control deck.

Wing Shards was "if you attack me, I'm going to make you SUFFA!" -_-
It only takes one Unsummon on top to beat 3 creatures for 1WWU. And you can block what's left with your strongest, so you are probably blowing them out. Badly. Use a Mystical Tutor to GET your Unsummon or your Wing Shards when you already have the other in hand, and your opponent is better off not attacking.....like ever. o_o
This is MASSIVELY more fair without Storm -_-
Oh, and if your opponent for some reason loses all Sanity and gets into a Counterspell-War while your Wing Shards is on the Stack....they deserve it. >_<

Deceptively good. Often better than Diabolic Edict in constructed formats.

While I like the card, I'm not sure if it makes much sense how a blocking creature can be defeated because of its aggression.

@j_mindfingerpainter Are you a time traveler from the past? It sounds like you're talking about decks from 2010/2011. :P
Anyway, I think this compares very favorably to Divine Verdict. The trade-off of "I don't get to pick which attacker" vs "I can kill that one hexproof attacker" (I'm looking at you, Invisible Stalker) is not a bad tradeoff, and cutting the mana cost from 4 to 2 is a big deal (especially for an instant that you mostly want to use during their turn... leaving 4 mana open is hard). I think it will at least make it into some sideboards, if not mainboards. I know I'd love to sideboard it in against hexproof aura decks.

Quite sad that this wasn't in M13... oh, the fun that could have been had with Exalted...

Am I the only one reminded of Diablo III by the flavor text? "You were defeated the moment you surrendered to madness."

"Oh, you're attacking with Sigarda, and leaving behind your other creatures to block... Oh crap."

In some ways the attacking or blocking rider can be a positive compared to more hard and fast removal like Murder. Use one the first chance you get, then keep WW open and a card in hand for the rest of the game. With Doom Blade, the opponent doesn't have to care about attacking or not, since the creature can just be removed at end of turn anyway. With the bluff potential of this though, creatures can be held back without using up resources.

This card seems more fair to me. I approve.
