Freaking amazing. 5/4 trample is ok for 5 mana. 5/4 trample vigilance is nice. 5/4 trample vigilance returns from the dead stronger is amazing. I love this card and hope to pull one soon.
5/4 trample for 4G is common 5/4 vigilance for 3GG is uncommon 5/4 undying for 2GGG is rare
5/4 vigilant undying trampler is 2GGG mythic.

It's good but just a little bit too small in the power creeped world of the Titans. Also Baneslayer Angel still eats this for breakfast. What is it that prevents Green from getting the best beater in the game?
I've been waiting for this. I knew it was coming. A mythic rare bug. We got common bugs. We got uncommon bugs. We even got rare bugs. But, damn, is my Insect deck gonna be a tad more effective now.

I love insects, especially when they are hard to squash. I have an Eldrazi Monument deck this guy is going into as a finisher.

No mention of how horribly degenerate this thing is with Ghave, Guru of Spores? Just think, free sac outlet plus Ghave plus this guy equals triggering the sac outlet's ability AND getting a free Saproling for . Imagine Vish Kal (who even comes in Ghavey's precon), -5/-5 to any target plus a 1/1 dude for , as many times as you can pay. Vish Kal too expensive? Try Carrion Feeder. Perma-shade pump for instead of temp pump for , plus all the chump blockers you'll need. Nantuko Husk trades the permanence for +2/+2 or +4/+4 instead of +1/+1. The turn after you play Ghave, that means that you'll be swinging for 19 (Ghave and the Husk), 31 if you sac the Saprolings. The 'Pede itself hasn't even attacked yet. "What if I don't draw any sac outlets?", I hear you wail. Well, Ghave is one too, don't forget. He just costs a bit. With this in mind, you now have ": Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature and put a 1/1 Saproling token into play." If they printed this ability on a creature, it would be broken. And all of this is STILL ignoring the fact that Ghave makes the Vorapede itself pretty well impossible to kill. You can just remove the counter to have it survive any regular death spell (Doom Blade? Alright, more Saprolings). And if they try to exile it, just pay the premium and get a token AND a Saproling. Bonkers.

Undying made the card, but I'll be damned if this doesn't deserve a rating above 4. This thing rocks in mono green aggro. It puts pressure on the opponent while still being able to block on their turn, it hits like a truck and even has trample to boot, should your opponent try chump-blocking it. And if that's not enough, it sits through board sweepers and other kinds of removal and comes back to hit the opponent for 6.
Not a spectacular card, but sturdy as a rock and the most appealing green 5-drop I've seen for a long time. 4.5/5
A friend and I were once playing 2v2 vs. my little bro and another friend of ours. That friend, along with my bro's Hunger of the Howlpacks managed to make this something like a 25/25 Vigilance Trample. I'll never forgive him.

How is this rated so low? It is one of mono-green's best 5-drops, including Wolfir Silverheart. The triple green makes this hard to play in a lot of decks, but in mono-green that doesn't matter. It is green's Baneslayer, and deserves to be mythic as much as BS angel does. Yeah its not as powerful as BS Angel, but it shouldn't be because BS was too powerful. This is a great card, and one of undying's poster children.

It's sad that with the arrival of Wolfir Silverheart, this kinda got even less love that it deserves. It's not that this card's "meh", it's that Wolfir Silverheart is "sort of" broken. It costs 5 and can potentially pack a whooping 12 power. That's insane. - Although I'd like to insist on this card's strengths that the Wolfir doesn't have. First, the evasion. Vigilance and Trample's a great combination, since it's good in both offense AND defense. Second, survivability. It lives twice, and the second time it's stronger, that's crazy. - More often than not, people will opt for Wolfir Silverheart. Since 12 pure power for 5 mana is incredibly cost-effective. This is more balanced and well rounded. Thus I prefer this one, because I'm the kind of player who dispises cards that are "overpowered".

I love the Undying mechanic. And this card is the gem. A tad difficult, since mine is black green with 4 Woodland Cemetery, but it plus Geralf's Messenger equals balance. Throw in Young Wolf, Butcher Ghoul, and Gravecrawler...Black Sun's Zenith to reuse Undying and kill opponent's creatures...Birthing Pod for speed and fixes mana issues...it hurts, and hurts badly. And without this card, wouldn't work. Even in mono-green, or any well constructed dual color, it is a monster, and then some. 5/5

It really speaks volumes about the power creep of Magic when a 5/4 undying creature with vigilance and trample for 5 CMC isn't good enough for the metagame it's in. It's one of the best green creatures there is, but it came out at the same time Primeval Titan was legal, and then Wolfir Silverheart and Thragtusk came along.

All of those keywords go perfectly with Quietus Spike, turning this guy into a 2-turn clock while still being able to block and kill anything, only to come back stronger if it dies. If that doesn't do the trick, Vines of Vastwood solves most of your problems. If they have an 8/9 blocker with first strike or a Final Judgment in hand, not much could have saved you anyway.

Zameck Guildmage turns this card bonkers! Granted, it requires two colours when Vorapede is already heavily colour intensive, with all the mana fixing that isn't too big a problem though. Once you throw your vigilance trampler at your opponent grinding card advantage cheaply your opponent better have a good answer.
