Can we please get new art for this? Maybe even put akroma back on it?

Yah. New art. Good to have around, though.

And there's Pacifism, a card that costs less than the new Black card, Murder and still manages to accomplish the same thing 99% of the time.

This card is the bane of my magic games. This card is the sole reason I wish red had enchantment removal, sadly I'll have to settle for splashing green for naturalize

Considering cards like Strangleroot Geist, Young Wolf and Gravecrawler, this might actually be more useful than Black spot removal in the future metagame. It's no Celestial Purge, but it might have to do.

It'll also be quite fun to cast this on a Rancor-ed creature and watch the opponent squirm to try and kill his own creature. ;)

Wouldn't be a core set without Pacifism.

Of course the artist's name would be Robert Bliss.

If you look at white's removal in M13, then white's removal in M12, I think this is better than before. 4.5/5.

One time I played in FNM, my opponent used Dragon's Herald and summoned Helkite Overlord, attacked me with it, which i played Pollen Lullaby, then on my turn, played this on it. Overlord was peaceful throughout the whole game lol. This card saved my hide plenty of times.

I am a beginner player of the MTG. I don't understand this card. "Can't attack or block" or "Can't attack and block"

After seeing this guy's face over and over, I still have no idea who Grakk is!

Good way to slow down Undying and Rancor.

@Silver-Paladin: not to be that guy, but five out of eleven is 45%, not 36%.

For the 9th time in his life, Grakk felt a little warm and fuzzy inside. He also wished he could take a vacation for once in his life.

You know, as much as I love this card, I almost feel that we should have something...new for our core sets. Like maybe a reprint of Arrest. Or something new. I don't know. What I do know is that Giant Spider has felt the boot and this hasn't, and I'm starting to get a bit sick of both this card and its art.

I get that the Tempest, Saga and Onslaught arts don't make too much sense in the context of a Core Set, as they depict Karn, Urza and Akroma, but how about the Seventh Edition art? It makes some sense, a soldier or knight just abandoning his armor and walking away.

Oh my god, so useful in a combo Plains deck. Use it to beat the hell out OF BEATDOWN decks! :DDDD
So cheap, too!

@Eternal_Blue
This card has a lot more drawbacks than what you described. Its upside is that the creature doesn't "die", which is much more relevant recently as there are many more creatures who use effects upon dying (undying, Thragtusk, Angel of Serenity, etc.) than there used to be.

That said, this card has quite a few weaknesses. Among them, it's vulnerable to enchantment removal, much like Oblivion Ring is, but it is also much more narrow than spot removal. Creatures with relevant abilities can activate them at will with pacifism on them; as well, passive abilities still function normally. The creature still counts as a creature on the field, which can be relevant for things such as Sublime Archangel. Or, say you want to use it to remove a Geralf's Messenger without killing it... and then it gets sacrificed by Falkenrath Aristocrat next turn. Oops. It's also Sorcery speed, though most removal is Sorcery speed in Standard nowadays. But trust me, you won't see this in Standard any time soon. It's a decent Limited card.

I hate this card *puts 4 doom blades into his deck*

@ ahmed1991

A creature enchanted with Pacifism can do neither. Remember, cards that require you to choose between two or more different effects will deliberately say "Choose..." in their text, such as with Azorius Charm. Similarly, you can ignore any interpretations such as "if this creature blocks, it cannot then also attack its next turn," as these would, similarly, be clearly spelled out in that manner on the card. So long as it's pacified, it cannot attack, block or somehow do both.

@paladin I could see it being better with the Seventh Edition art.

@ Death-Shinobi

I agree with its weaknesses still I love this card. I'm currently using an Angel Themed deck with it as one of my main defensive cards. Since it's a casual deck, it fits perfectly, thematically and budget-wise, especially when Innistrad is going to be phased out from standard on the 4th quarter of the year.

Is this really better than Bonds of Faith? It is more efficient than Arrest, but does nothing versus abilities, which are usually how opponent's combo off. Yes, I do agree that Pillory of the Sleepless is slightly better...it can actually win the game. Now, Faith's Fetters...complete lockdown on any permanent (except mana abilities)...which is somewhat comparable to a Meddling Mage that is harder to take out. Sometimes stuff is indestructible, is black, regenerates, can be played from the graveyard (or has undying), wishes, etc...that is when these cards are better than Doom Blade.

Seven.
The last seven years.
The last seven years STRAIGHT.
Nine out of fifteen. 60%.
Thats how many printings of Pacifism use this art.

"But Paladin, Pacifism is a staple card like Naturalize(only four years straight of one art, with 5 instances of that art, out of 11 printings, 36%), or Serra Angel (only six years straight of one art, with 8 instances of that art, out of 16 printings, 50%)

Frigging LANDS get 4 or 5 new arts per set, be it core, large set, or small set. Can we get a new freaking PACIFISM already!?

@Corey_bayoudragonfly: There are 5 instances of the art, but only 4 of them are in a row, so I did 4/11 instead of 5/11.
