I think WoTC have been playing as much Skyrim as I have.

Like this comment if you want more art from Johannes Voss.

The wizard in the art looks like he would have beer with Cunning Sparkmage after your battle.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the next $10 rare. If I'm wrong about that, I'll eat crow. Otherwize Izzet Snapcaster deck, here I come!

If there are going to be any more copy spells, then I can build a deck full of spells that copy other instants and sorceries!
I'm just afraid that I'd forget to put the other spells in there.

Galvanic Juggernaut burn spell machine gun

A really fun casual card; sadly not likely to be seen in any serious decks. But burn is where it's at because there's never a time you don't want another Thunderous Wrath for {R}!

Being able to reverberate a spell each turn is pretty good for 2 mana

Also broken as hell with any untap effects - This + seething song+ pili pala = infinate mana. Toss in a bolt for infinite damage too

Uhhh, fellas? Why not make it repeatable? This is Gelectrode's new best friend.

Cerulean Wisps?
with Goblin Medic?

@repete. Because Gelectrode only untaps when you cast a spell. Dual Casting (despite the name) copies a spell on the stack, which doesn't count as "casting" it.

Perfect card to combo with Call the Skybreaker. Cast CtS, then enchant the Skybreaker with this and proceed to get an army of 5/5 fliers. Use Arcane Melee too and you will get that army even faster!

I love how you're basically elevating one of your creatures to your own level of power for a time. Maybe even higher, since they're casting your huge amazing 10 mana spell using a single red mana.

Stop posting the "like if.." comments. This isn't facebook or youtube, and at this point I honestly hope that Johannes never does art for MTG again so that you will stop before other people start... (notice how most of those comments have been rated so low?)

Combo it with Reality Spasm. Just think about it.

opened up one of these in a pack and though : well that's not exactly disappointing. resuable reverberation as early as turn 3? seems plausible. will probably ultimately be a dollar-rare.

Guys, this is not a cheaper, repeatable Reverberate.

Reverberate is far better for most situations:

-It doesn't die to basic removal.
-Your opponent doesn't know you have it (in theory).
-You can use it whenever you have the mana. DC can be tapped out, Arrested, etc. and requires a creature that isn't necessarily going to be attacking every turn (not exactly a good thing for a red-leaning deck) or isn't a critical blocker.

And above all:

-You can copy anything on the stack, not just your own spells. Counterspelled? Reverb it. Sleeped? Reverb it. The possibilities are endless.

Dual Casting =/= Reverberation. Both have their uses, however.

you using your mono red deck and you in a bit of trouble, you have 8 red mana with this attached to your only creature boros recruit because that bloody black deck keeps using doomblade on your creatures. you decided to cast downhill charge and then reverberate before the reverberate resolves you copy it with dual casting to get +38/+0 to your boros recruit then you fling to finish him in one swift but brutal turn for the win.

Blistercoil Weird likes this if you stack it properly.

This seems fun to build around. Slap it on a hexproof creature.

If i have a creature enchanted with Dual casting would i be able to go infinite with a Desperate ritual with psychic puppetry spliced on by copying it and then un-tapping it with Psychic puppetry and then using the mana from the Desperate ritual to copy the first one?

EDIT: How do i auto-card something?

"copy target spell" =/= "cast a spell"
so it won't trigger Blistercoil Weird, etc.
(I guess it could get you one extra, but not repeatable)
-
but, I so badly want to find a place for this in my new deck...
this, plus Illusionist's Bracers seems fun :)

best spell to copy? Fork! no, um, Demonic Tutor!
no, wait, Rite of Replication... kicked!

What is the ruling for if you attach this to a Keyrune? Can you activate it while the Keyrune is an artifact?

@Hawko0313:

Blistercoil Weird would be able to copy any spell on the stack for as many spells as you are able to cast. Additional spell copies placed on the stack (Reverberate et al.), do not count as casted spells, but there are some cards (Eye of the Storm, Isochron Scepter, Cast Through Time) that exile spells and allow you to cast them again - triggering Blistercoil Weird's ability.

@Niyght:

The enchantment would "fall off" the keyrune the moment it stops being a creature. "Enchant Y" doesn't only refer to valid targets for the spell; it also means that if the enchanted card is no longer Y, the enchantment goes to the graveyard as a state-based action.

"704.5n If an Aura is attached to an illegal object or player, or is not attached to an object or player, that Aura is put into its owner's graveyard."

@Tarantula_Lover:

Quoted from Formatting Tips linked to the right of the Create Comment box:

"This tag will create an autocard style link that can be used to link to other Magic cards. It can be used by surrounding a card name with the tag, e.g.: Fork or by adding a multiverse id attribute to it, e.g.: My favorite version of Fork. or by adding the name attribute to it, e.g.: I love fork."

So there is one way of saying Progenitus and two ways of saying a really really big scary monster.

Also, from forums.mtgsalvation.com:

"Splice adds text to the original spell. In this case, the text of Glacial Ray is copied onto Lava Spike. An Izzet Guildmage making a copy of it will make a copy of all the text, including anything added by spliced cards.

Quote:
502.40a Splice is a static ability that functions while a card is in your hand. “Splice onto ” means “You may reveal this card from your hand as you play a spell. If you do, copy this card’s text box onto that spell and pay as an additional cost to play that spell.” Paying a card’s splice cost follows the rules for paying additional costs in rules 409.1b and 409.1f–h.

Quote:
503.2. When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object’s characteristics (name, mana cost, color, type, supertype, subtype, expansion symbol, rules text, power, and toughness) and, for an object on the stack, choices made when playing it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether a kicker cost was paid, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The “copiable values” are the values that are printed on the object, as modified by other copy effects, “comes into play as” abilities, and abilities that caused the object to be face down. Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied.

(Edit: Derf, Ray splices onto Spike.)"

In other words, yes. Yes, you would go infinite. You would be copying the Desperate Ritual with Psychic Puppetry's effects spliced onto it. You would let the copy resolve, giving three red mana and untapping the creature enchanted with Dual Casting, and then you would copy the modified spell still on the stack again and again as many times as you want for infinite red mana.

Unless you can finish someone with that red mana, however, it would be best to get at least one more Psychic Puppetry to splice onto the original spell so you can at least untap the enchanted creature and decide what else on the battlefield you'd like to tap or untap. Evermind (most likely) and Glacial Ray (certainly) would be combo victories for just two extra mana at the same time, in the same colors.

After three cards in hand and two on the field to combo for win, I think you deserve it.

Hail Izzet. (their colors, obviously)
