A pretty damn solid all-rounder. Certainly one of the best first-turn goblins yet printed, barring Shenanigans like Goblin Welder, Goblin Lackey or Skirk Prospector.

Great 1 drop common for any Goblin Deck. First Strike for a goblin is awesome. This card also works well with the Battle Blitz structure deck based on red/white hybrid cards.

A good one drop Goblin, a good one drop Soldier, and a good one drop for a red/white deck. Generally just a good first turn card.

Insane ability for a one drop to have! XD

Sure, it might not be a good idea, but a pair can be sideboarded for the mirror match against Ball Lightning and friends.

Certainly not a bad card. If you are a new player, who want an ok deck without selling your house, it can be good in a weenie deck.

one of the best one drop creatures ever printed, being accessible as not only White, but Red

Golbin, plus a Soldier

1/1 with First Strike. At this day and age, it is still a great card, despite the power level of the game being lower back then.

Feh. Tundra Wolves has ten times more flavor than any goblin. And that's including Goblin Bully.

Possibly my favorite one drop in the game. He's not the most powerful, but that's part of his charm. No one ever wants to waste a spell to kill him, which gives him a chance to prove himself. While there's the superior Figure of Destiny who shares the same casting cost, he's still an excellent card with a surprising number of far larger creatures that he triumphs against in a fight, especially in the early turns of the game where a toughness of 1 isn't that uncommon.

He can find his place into a lot of decks. Goblins, soldiers, any place a reliable 1/1 first striker for 1 can slip in. While Figure is the golden boy of the R/W crew, boros recruit is at least a fair bit better than duergar assailant.

my favorite one drop creature, just because of his pure flavor, i love the text, and i love how they incorporated his "skill and determination" into first strike

This is a goblin. In uniform. Helping other races. Just got me thinking.....
Anyone here play the Epic War series on Kongregate?

Kaalia of the Vast's Epic War Deck (non-EDH):
Tinker + Mox Lotus = Yay Mana! :)

Doubling Season + Alliance of Arms = HOBBIT SPAM
+ Mercy Killing = ELF SPAM
+ Rise of the Hobgoblins = GOBLIN SPAM (and all your creatures get First Strike-they're all Boros Recruits!) *the rest of this post has nothing to do with Boros Recruit. It's just an excercise in sillyness. Epic War fans should appreciate it, though.*

Mirror-Sigil Sergeant + Followed Footsteps = PALADIN SPAM
Precursor Golem + Rite of Replication= GOLEM SPAM (o.O)
Mirror Hall + Riku of Two Reflections= WIZARD SPAM/SPAM SPAM (okay this is seriously getting ridiculous, but lolz this is fun! xD)
Academy Rectors + Day of the Dragons= BLUE DRAGON SPAM (I'm surprised that Magic has a way to generate lots of Blue Dragons. Rules text says Red, but the artist says blue :)
Mirror Hall + Rakdos the Defiler + Splinter Twin as BALROG SPAM (sacrifing about 3 infinities worth of Doubled Dragon Tokens you got from exiling 1 infinity worth of Golems and another infinity of Paladins)
Decree of Justice + Luminarch Ascension + Baneslayer Angel + Necrotic Ooze + Experiment Kraj+ The Mimeoplasm + Essence of the Wild= Creatures enter the battlefield as a copy of Baneslayer Angel. I think. And ANGEL SPAM. Somewhere in there you're going to have a lot of tokens coming back because of leaving the battlefield/enters the battlefield triggers and causing some mental train wrecks cuz I think some of them blink from Day of Dragons. Even without that you can probably get a way with declaring you have an arbitrarily large number of everything.
Warsturm Surge + Comet Storm as the SPECIAL ATTACKS (don't forget to use Riku on the Comets)
Sun Titan + Grave Titan + Inferno Titan as Themselves

The last thing it needed was an Archenemy to fight.

Worldgorger Dragon + Novablast Wurm + Progenitus + Polymerization (not even a Magic card, I know)= The End.

LoL, I wonder which side has the advantage? xxXDD

Not bad for a 1/1 Goblin. :P

In casual or legacy this guy gets sick with War Cry in R/W weenies. Even small equipment and war cry turns him into a powerhouse capable of destroying most blockers and living thanks to First Strike. In some cases you will even have your opponents opt to block more powerful creatures simply because they don't have first strike which lets this guy swing through. For the mana and deck slot investment its really hard to beat a card like this.

It's a goblin, Razia. You can be sure that somewhere inside his crinkly green head is a hoard of idiocy.

It'd be tough to rate this one poorly unless you held some form of prejudice.
- A 1/1 for 1 is a pretty standard deal. This is easier to cast than most because you can use or , so in a standard two-color deck it comes out with either of your basic lands.
- First strike is a great combat ability, and fairly uncommon among one-drops.
- It's a Goblin, and there are a ton of great red Goblins for a tribal deck.
- It's a Soldier, and there are a ton of great Soldiers for a tribal deck in white, and red to a lesser extent.

Now, I'm not particularly thrilled about the art or the flavour text, and a Goblin fighting for an orderly organization seems a little off to me, but from a point of view looking strictly at playability, this card is an example of an excellent generalist first-turn creature.

I love how, thanks to Unhinged, you can tap a Plains for White, use 500 for Little Girl and float 500, sac something to Mons's Goblin Waiters for Half a Red, then cast this for a literal Red or White. 5/5 for that and for being a damn good one-drop.
