This card stacks with Mob Justice in number, function, and flavor. :)

In case Soulblast seems too risky and you only got chump-blockers on your side anyway.
Also this looks particularly great with vigilance, which could get more relevant that you'd think - there's some new Boros goodness awaiting us in the upcoming block on Ravnica...

LoL- I re-read this so wrong when it was spoiled, because after reading FREAKING GISELA, GRISLEBRAND, AND TIME WALK 2, I thought they'd print ANYTHING -.-
I thought it said 'tap 3 creatures you control. Burn at the Stake deals 3 times the total power of those creatures to target creature or player'
LMAO!!!! SOOOOO broken. Re-read, and it's now a reasonable card. Honestly, look at what else they printed. I think it was an understandable mistake :P xD
I would like my version to see print one day :p

If you use an effect that copies a spell once it's cast, the copy will be identical in terms of costs that affect its function. If you tap four creatures as an additional cost to casting this, then cast reverberate or increasing vengeance targeting it, each copy will do 12 damage for a total of 24 (or 36 if increasing vengeance is cast from the graveyard). Of course, you hopefully won't need to do 24 damage by the time you have 7' mana, or 36 by the time you have 10 mana, unless you're playing EDH.

Just you wait. Magic 2013 will be nothing but witches, making this wicked relevant! It's funny though, how not only do a lot of people jump right to the idea of witches upon seeing this card, but also how Innistrad block was supposed to be loaded with classic horror themes, yet I don't believe we saw any witches, or even witch-like cards. Not even a Hag!

This is a really startling card, namely because it can kill you out of absolutely nowhere. If you have seven creatures on the field, and they haven't gained any life and don't have the mana for a counterspell, then it's an insta-kill. It's a really fun card that's absolutely great in limited.

Wow.. Realistically this will be hitting for at least 9-18 damage which, more often than not will win games on a 5 cmc finisher. Sick NASTY! Thank GOD it didn't get miricle lol..
by turn 5 in a goblin deck this will always burn for lethal

The average casual player loves this card because it's so powerful in one of the most boring sets in the recent years. Except the non-played Outwit, there's not much that can provide an answer tot his.
More experienced players hate that card for the same reason.

Human weenies + this + Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, maybe even a dualcast.... That just sounds ridiculously fun.

I'm trying this out in a eldrazi spawn deck in addition to Overwhelming Stampede and it's looking really promising. The main problem I see with it is that if I'm unable to finish the oppoent with it for some reason, I'm down most or all of my blockers for a turn. On the other hand, that's where a well timed Fresh Meat would come in really handy.
4.5/5 for having a HUGE yet risky effect. Fits the flavor well.

Who'd think a singular red-burn spell would be useful in EDH?
This card in any limited game... well, ends the game on turn 5! Have you ever won a game on turn 5 during a draft?
It's great that its cost is , because if it weren't, then you couldn't just splash red to use it.
4.5/5 for amazing game finisher, while losing a point or so for a strong Red presence. It's exactly what a rare should be :D
Why do so many people think "instant win on turn 5" = fun? I guess that's why Magic is so great, cuz there's something for everybody...

Hey, I just saw this, And I was like token army! But in mono-red, So Krenko maybe?
Also, how does this work with creatures you can/could tap multiple times?
Per example: Bramblesnap. You tap the creatures to pump it, untap them with something else (Copperhorn Scout, Village Bell-Ringer) it counts as multiple creatures.
They are releasing a card called Blistercoil Weird that untaps when you cast an instant or a sorcery (I realize it may not untap fast enough to interact multiple times with this card.) but what would happen if you could twiddle the same creature multiple times through an effect like Niblis of the Breath? How does that work or rather does it?
Could possibly be a combo with Fungal Sprouting. Imagine those Sapros holding torches and attacking the enemy mage.

Three times the damage?! Three times?!! Do you know how easy it is to generate tokens?! I had a guy down to 3 life and he played Goblin Rally and then this card the next turn and it did 15 damage to me, killing me in one turn. Unbelievable.

@TamiYamiyo If she is out you might as well use Radiate. Tap X creatures: Deal 6X to each opponent and each creature they control. You and each creature you control takes 3X damage. Tap 5 creatures. Watch everything scream as they burn. Why hello prisoner V.

I never really liked Innistrad block much. Didn't care for all the Twilight Vamps and Werewolves and whatnot.
It's cards like this that make me glad there's still always little gems to brighten my day even in the darkest nights. BURN THEM ALL!!

When I got this used against me in the DotP 2014 campaign, I suddenly cried "YES. I will DEFINITELY be putting this into my B/W token deck."
Then I looked in the corner.
Now, I didn't want to add Red entirely, as 1. The manabase was perfect as-is, 2. I'd have almost no other Red spells, unless I copied the Aristocrats, something I didn't want to do (and couldn't afford to :P)
But I believe I have come up with the splash-only solution, comrades.
Same set, same art, same theme, same color. Only ONE red. But it's secretly -3. Or more.

I almost feel sorry for the creature about to be burned. Even though it is horribly monstrous, it looks like it has a sad face. :*( Anyways, strong card, but do goblin token decks really need to have yet ANOTHER win con?

Tokens, as everyone else already points out, are an obvious use for this card. On the other hand, 3x the number of creatures tapped? That means even just 3 creatures, is going to be 9 damage. That's pretty damn solid if you ask me.

I play this as a one-of in youngpyromancerstorm.dec, and it works wonders. Get even a small chain of rituals going (I suggest fellow Avacyn Restored card Battle Hymn), drop Burn at the Stake, and your opponent is suddenly staring down 21 to the face.

played this in EDH mono-red. Hostility on field, played Comet Storm (kicking 5 to do 4 each, 20 tokens) then used this, tapped all 20 tokens to make another 60. Game over. Fun times.

Token generation is one of my favorite thing to do in MTG, so this is easily my favorite burn spell in existence. One of the craziest things I've ever done with this was in a Black/Red EDH deck. Had Hostility, Fire Servant and Purphoros, God of the Forge out, alongside some other little guys. Played this, tapping all 12 of my creatures, for 36 Damage. Fire Servant double it to 72 damage, then Hostily turned it into 72 3/1 Elementals, triggering Purphoros for a grand total of 144 damage to each opponent. Wish I had gotten Whip of Erebos out that game too, so Purphoros could have given all that life back to me. :D
