This card makes me realise how much I wish Cavern of Souls was never printed. this would be so sick with Snapcaster mage + counterspell :'( MUC could be a real Standard deck...

The best drawbacks are the ones you can turn into advantages. Use this to bounce....well, anything that has a enters/leaves the battlefield effect. You can play it the turn after Snapcaster Mage to save him for another spell.
On an unrelated note, the flavor implications are amusing. "My Krosan Cloudscraper was actually a faerie all along!"

Pros like me will be using this to bounce creatures that are beneficial for me to bounce.
Impersonating Shrieking Drake. Can't bounce itself, sad, but still see this being decent.

This works beautifully with Æther Vial. Not only can you easily bring the bounced creature back out at any time - you can also get Faerie Impostor on the battlefield in response to your opponent's spells, so you get a Rescue tech against creature removal! (Scout's Warning, Alchemist's Refuge, Winding Canyons and Leyline of Anticipation work for that use as well.)
Those and Faerie Impostor are rogues. So why not try the same with rogues? With so many fliers you'll probably get to pay prowl costs as well - and if that enables an enter-the-battlefield-effect on creatures, this rogue ability gets just more awesome with bounce. But Stinkdrinker Bandit doesn't even need a cip-effect to become awesome at that point. Oona's Blackguard and Cloak and Dagger are also both powerful for rogue decks, and the equipment's shroud even works without any drawback for Faerie Impostor since her ability isn't targeted. Frogtosser Banneret can reduce all (prowl) costs and can save you a lot of mana especially when bouncing. (Remember he works with tribal cards like your Cloak and Dagger and prowl sorceries like Noggin Whack, Morsel Theft or Notorious Throng, too). Since we were talking about fearies, prowling and Oona's Blackguard - Oona's Prowler is a good choice, too. Marsh Flitter might be worth bouncing it in conjunction with your creature boosts. Thieving Sprite fits in here as well. But aside from her you don't have to stick to faerie rogues - hire an Earwig Squad, and get their Auntie's Snitch. Thanks to the power boosts, Cold-Eyed Selkie can get you tons of cards. And to get back to Faerie Impostor - Shardless Agent is an excellent target for her. Particularly with 0CCSuspendspells. If you want to try something different, use Wu Spy (who also synergizes with both aforementioned cards.
And let's not forget about her incredible use with a third tribe: ninjas! You couldn't possibly ask for a bigger synergy for ninjutsu: Not only is it Faefire Impostor a cheap one-drop with evasion like Tormented Soul, she'll even allow you to sneak in ninjas a second time that are on the battlefield but can't get through. Bounce any ninja (e.g. Ninja of Deep Hours) with Faerie Impostor, next turn he'll be able to ninjutsu himself back in if you opponent doesn't have any flying creatures that could block her. Sakashima's Student in particular even works with Faerie Impostor in all three of these tribal decks!

My favorite part about playing this card was explaining to my opponent that my Sunspire Griffin was actually a faerie in disguise. But not to worry, I have had the real griffin in my hand the whole time.
Also, I really want to play this with ninjas. Nope, that Faerie was actually a ninja in disguise. Scratch that, it was actually a faerie disguised as a ninja disguised as a faerie. These kinds of tricks really make my day.

If we stay in Ravnica, this card's good with other cards with ETB abilities, especially commons, there are actually quite a few in the set (being a casual player, I'm very happy about that). Such commons I can think about right now are Azorius Arrester, Gatecreeper Vine, Seller of Songbirds.

Runs great in Ninja decks with some Ornithopters.

This is going to be so much fun in my Mana Echos Faerie Deck.... tap two Ravnica Bouncelands to play Cloud of Faeries, then imposter the Clould, re tap the two bounce lands to play cloud again. Made Three mana profit from the lands (which can still be tapped for four more) plus at least 5 from mana echos' ETB effect (more if there were other faeries chilling with you at the time)
This Plus Vexing Devil is a neat little combo. Nothing amazing but it's certainly fun.

Anyone else wish this card had Flash, or had some way to give it flash? It would make this card soooooo broken in a fearie de-.....
who am I kidding, Faerie decks are already broken... xD

I just wish this thing had Flash. Your opponent tries to Paralyzing Graspor Arrest your creature, you just play this guy. Supreme Verdict? Bring this in to save one of your creatures.

this card is crazy in my RTR detain deck mainly because all detain abilities on my creatures are come into play so i constantly detain then attack with flying creatures.

cool card but god dammit why do they make art in which the creature is so small?! ffs the hand on the right is bigger than the faerie itsself!
As a side note, with 2 you get "{U}, increase the storm count by 1." Oh geez.

with one of these on the battlefield, and one in hand, you can absolutely abuse the abilities of creatures that have "when a creature enters the battlefield" or "whenever you cast a spell"
this is amazing for a simic deck (evolve).

The trick is even better if you have a Cloak and Dagger waiting on the battlefield for the Faerie Impostor.

Tartarga, if this had flash it would be busted. Maybe if it cost 2?
I just cast it, say *** it, sacrifice it, then drop Tragic Slip cuz I can.

I so wish this card had flash! It would be far from unfair or breaking the game, but it could make modern faeries have something else to work with. Would be a very competitive and balanced card with a perfect place both in standard and in modern... But as is, it is better than average for uncommon.

I'm confused about this card. Is it a faerie that pretends to be other things or is it a non-fairy thing pretending to be a faerie? It makes about as much sense either way.

I really just wished this had flash... However, still comes nice in EDH if you use the Vendilion Clique as your commander.

It just so happens that some of the greatest blue creatures to bounce are faeries, too:
Cloud of Faeries, Spellstutter Sprite, and, since we got enough faeries now to make things tribal - Mistbind Clique.
Don't forget the Vendilion Clique. Pestermite and Latchkey Faerie are a nice choice as well.
