Sometimes Wotc makes a card that can do so much, and yet so little. Cycling, Flying and the Land trick, tacked onto a popular creature type make this a fun card to play.

You DO remember playing for fun, right?

untaping the lands needed to play it is nice.

Awesome card. It's fun. And good. And fun. And broken. Who wouldn't want Flying Men that either cost zero or generate you a mana or two?

Convieniently generates 6 extra mana without costing anything with just one Snap and 2 double lands. Or the double lands and Equilibrium with two Clouds of Faeries for infinite mana.

Nifty card, even though it dies to Storm Crow.

Ravanica bounce-lands, Heartbeat of Spring, and these girls were part of a block that had a little land known as Tolarian Academy. Free faeries? Try flying blue mana acceleration.

I remember popping two of these on turn two once and still having the mana left over to play a counterspellif needed.
I love this card, the ability, the art and the fact that it's free on turn two :P

At least we got to learn that untapping lands is definitely not a very good idea when talking card design.

An excellent pauper card. It costs zero or actually generates mana with Karoo lands. Plus, it is a faerie. And it cycles late game when you don't want a 1/1 flyer. Quite an excellent card.

Best card ever.

Turn 1: Island.
Turn 2: Island. Tap one island for High Tide. Play Cloud of Faeries, untap your two lands. Tap them for four mana. Play Helm of Awakening for 2. Play Snap for 1, targeting Faeries. Untap your lands and tap them for 5 floating mana. Play Faeries for 1, untapping lands and tapping for 8 floating mana total in mana pool.

THEN:
Future Sight
Sensei's Divining Tops
= Draw your whole deck and get a very large storm count, or infinite mana through use of the cards in it. Then brainfreeze or braingeyser.

OR:
Cowardice
Lightning Greaves
=Infinite storm count and infinite mana

OR:
Cloudstone Curio
Another Cloud of Faeries (or just any other cheap creature)
= Infinite storm count and infinite mana

OR:
Equilibrium
Another Cloud of Faeries (or just any other cheap creature)
= Infinite storm count and infinite mana

So many other ways for a second turn kill, so little time.

Kind of a bad omen for what would eventually happen with faeries.

What? We can cast this and Storm Crow on the same turn? Holy shit!

No comments on the art? I always thought it was funny how the artist went to great lengths to censor their bodies instead of just putting clothes on em or something.

All these Urza block guys should've just untapped basic lands. You could still enchant your lands and what-not to gain mana from playing them but insane mana combos would be a lot harder to pull off. Of course Palinchron would need some tweeking still.

@mtear They just released an even more broken intro to this combo.

Turn 1: Island

Turn 2: Island, High Tide, Cloud of Faeries, Cloud of Faeries, Ghostly Flicker

Then combo out with anything but Futuresight and Top, seeing how expensive the Top has become.

Definitely the best card ever. Karoo lands are the best friends of these faeries.

I love how my opponents almost never seem to recognize the danger in which they are, when I have this card in play with my Oona EDH deck. It´s one of these rather unpopular, hidden treasure cards, which noone really pays attention to. But have this in play with Dimir Aqueduct, for example, or even better with a precious Lotus Vale, and you are only one step away from infinite mana.

Obviously a great card with high tide and wild growth. Also has great synergy with decks running standstill(can drop this and standstill the same turn or if standstill is already out you can still cycle cloud of faeries)

The better you get, the better this card gets. Forget combos; consider equips and tempo. Playing this gives you a 1/1 flyer with counterspell mana open. If you can keep your counter-mana open all game while laying/responding to threats, there is just about nothing an opponent can do.

Hidden strings works well with it as well, for the same reason; add in the evasion to make it so that by T3, not a turn goes by with closed counter-mana.

Their thinking back in Urza's Block was probably something along the lines of, "It costs 2. If it costed only 1, then it would be better than flying men."
