beats goblin warchief in almost every way in a black-red gob deck 2 mana for a 1/1 instead of 3 mana for a 2/2 only bad thing is that it doesnt give haste, but you have chieftains for that

Can be fun in a prowl-rogue deck, Frogtosser reduces the prowl costs as well :)

sweet jesus. Paired with the prowl ability, this is mind-boggling. haste means better chance of punching through before blockers are ready, then playing a prowl spell for 1 less than it's already reduced prowl cost!!
or turn 3 Frogtosser + attack + dark ritual + any 2 black prowl spells, on top of turn 1 and 2 rogues that might be on the board.

The great thing about this card is not only that it reduces the Prowl costs, but also that it can attack immediately to enable Prowl costs the same turn you play him!

Thank god this isn't red. Goblins just don't need that. Oh god.

I'm sick of people posting their ideal first 1-3 turn set-ups, because they almost always start with "Turn 1: Swamp, Dark Ritual, ..." UGH. We get it. Dark Ritual is the ultimate first turn drop because it gives you 3 freaking mana. Obviously that would be ideal. I'm starting to become more annoyed by these comments than the Progenitus craze by mind-blown newbies and Timmy players. What has the world come to!!!! *mind-implosion*
Stinkdrinker Bandit is probably my fave, though. If they still fail to muster any blockers for the next turn, that's seven to the face, on the second turn. If you went first, it's entirely possible they won't have any blockers.

I have no idea how anyone can complain at this card. 2 cmc for a 1/1 haste is pretty much 1/1 for 1. He is splashable in a goblin relevant color and can really effect the game. Honestly, the rogue buff is just icing on the cake.

I used to run this guy in a monoblack rogue deck. However I came across a few issues that spurred me to remove him.
First: he occupies the same 2 CMC slot that makes up three fourths of my deck and I would find myself casting an evasive prowl enabler instead of him more often than not.
Second: because most of my deck is so cheap, his ability serves only to help me overextend. Anything that doesn't cost 2 prowls for 2 (except Earwig Squad) and that's cheap enough for me.
Third: beyond his cost reducing ability, he provided nothing else but a non-evasive 1/1 body for 2. Haste gave only a small window for him to be a viable attacker and I'd lose the cost reduction if I used him as a blocker so what's the point?
Frogtosser, I love you bro but you're just not for me.

You guys have inspired me to make a great legacy deck with this card. Just check out this play!
Turn one: Gemstone Cavern (put into play at the beginning of the game), Swamplotus petal (hand size four). Black lotus for blue and triple ancestral recall (hand size nine) then play a mox jet. Crack the petal and use the Jet to summon this guy. (hand size seven). Now, use the gemstone cavern for red, casting Infernal Plunge on this guy (see! He is vital!). Use the red mana for Manamorphose into Flash to put out Protein Hulk. Let it die and find two Myr Galvanizers. (Hand size five, 1 R floating). Use the red for Rite of Flame, this for another Manamorphose. Use this to flash out another Protein Hulk. Let it die as well, pulling out a Palladium Myr and three Tinder Walls. Sac them all (Hand size 2, 6 red floating.) Use the red to play Fervor and produce infinite mana with the Myr. Manamorphose into Braingeyser and draw your entire deck. Cast Gemstone Array and use it to make whatever colour you need. Cast Djinn Illuminatus (Deck in hand, 99999999 colourless floating). Now Spawnsire of Ulamog and Battle of Wits. Then replicate Living wish with the Djinn Illuminatus for three hundred and ninety eight Bog Hoodlums (keeping to the goblin tribal of this deck). Then use the Spawnsire to pull two Emrakul the Eons Torn onto the battlefield. Float a billion mana of each colour then "kick" Rout in response to the spawnsire, killing all your hoodlums. The Emrakuls resolve and die to the legend rule, shuffling your 398 bog hoodlums and themselves into your library. Mindbreak trap and Quickened Stone Rain everything they try to do and win at the start of your next turn with Battle of wits! This card gets 5/5 for making that possible!

only bad thing is that it doesnt give haste, but you have chieftains for that
Example: turn 1 swamp + dark ritual + Frogtosser Banneret + Thoughtseize/Duress/Inquisition of Kozilek etc.
turn 2 swamp + attack + Earwig Squad or any 2 cards that prowl for 1B.
or turn 3 Frogtosser + attack + dark ritual + any 2 black prowl spells, on top of turn 1 and 2 rogues that might be on the board.
