I have 4 of these in my blue/black rogue deck and they're so fun to play with. It makes rogues pathetic toughness of 1 higher so they survive more. Combined with notorious throng i have an army of atleast 2/2 fliers and the opponent is probably going to have to discard their whole hand.

This card is one of the best pairing with Oona herself. One of these out and you start producing 2/2 Fliers who can make an opponent discard cards when taking damage from them. This also works great if you have the rare Green/White/Black deck with Sigil Captain. Makes them 3/3 when they come in. Still up in the Air if they would both give their counters to a 1/1 rouge as it came into play.

There's really no debate about it. The text says that if a 1/1 comes into play, it gets 2 +1/+1 counters. this happens at the same time as the Blackguard's ability. That's why sigil captains are fun - they stack! Their ability doesn't care about the power/toughness after the creature has entered the battlefield, only as it does.

Chrisrawr, you're wrong, it doesn't work like that. The blackguard gives the tokens a counter as they come into play (it has a static ability that affects coming into play), then when the sigil captain checks the tokens' P/T it's a 2/2 and so the captain's ability doesn't trigger (because it has a triggered ability that doesn't activate until something is already in play.
Two sigil captains don't even stack, because they have a conditional IF clause that is rechecked on ability resolution. the first would make it a 3/3 and the other fizzles.

Great artwork...now if only jhessian infiltrator was black, that would really by something.

Come on people, @WhiteWizard42 is correct. Oona's Blackguard sets up a replacement effect that gives the creature a +1/+! counter as it enters the battlefield. Therefore, if it's a 1/1, it enters as a 2/2 due to the counters. Sigil Captain's ability doesn't trigger either, as it has an intervening if clause and checks upon triggering and upon resolution. So when a Rogue enters the battlefield, Sigil Captain doesn't trigger, and even if it didn't get the counter (if there's no Blackguard), then only one Sigil Captain's ability would resolve anyway.

Awesome Card. For two mana this card is awesome. A 1/1 flier with two really quite nifty abilities.
A pitty, this is much better in a rogue deck then in a faerie deck.

This card would be perfect if it gave itself a counter when it came into play. As it is, it is a great lord for Rogues, and has built in evasiveness to boot. Giving each rogue afterwards disruption while being pumped is perfect for a Rogue aggro deck.

My brain's having a melt down trying to figure out replacement versus triggers. Like, if it was a 'when' ability other rogues would all get counters if you had them enter the battlefield at the same time, but the rulings say this thing doesn't do that. ETB abilities trigger, then look for permanents if they can or do affect them, then do their thing I guess?
If this thing ETBs at the same time as another rogue then Blackguard wasn't ON the battlefield when the other rogue entered. Maybe. Something. Dammit brain work!
I'm far too tired to even try imagining why it doesn't work with Conspiracy naming rogue. How is that not a rogue entering the battlefield? Help me out here >.<

Definitely one of my favorite creatures for 2 mana. This little lady will always stay in my opening hand.

Named for Oona Queen of the Fae, it's not surprizing this combos quite well with the Fairy Queen herself. This gal turns the chump fairies Ooma mass-produces into serious threats.

anything with a +1/+1 counter gets to cause discarding, which can be an interesting development for an unsuspecting opponent.
I like how it helps both Bloodrush and Unleash.
In particular, FEAR THE Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch MIND INQUISITION!
