It's an instant 4/4 flier for 4... the tapping of your opponent's lands is just gravy. Tasty faerie gravy.

Don't forget the "save the championed creature as it's about to be killed" part. Gonna need a bigger gravy boat...

Well I didn't like it that much, until someone played this on my upkeep. Now I love it. 5/5.

This is gonna kinda suck when mana burn leaves...

Actually, this is going to be broken once mana burn leaves, because mana will also start to empty at the end of steps and phases, so "Mistbind Clique during your upkeep" doesn't even allow you to float the mana hoping to draw something during the draw step.

Oh dear god, how I hate this card against me >_> Never liked faeries (or any current metagame deck) to begin with, really... Oh well, still gave it 5/5 for being just silly powerful.
Fyi for Fae players. Don't be afraid to Champion a Mistbind Clique with itself! If you Champion a Mistbind Clique with a Mistbind Clique (hereafter referred to as a MC1 and MC2), the creature that MC1 Championed (usually a spellstutter sprite) will come back into play because MC1 is leaving play. I've actually played a spell during my opponents upkeep, had them Cancel, and Championed MC1 with MC2 to return a Spellstutter Sprite to the game to counter the opponents counter from the triggered effect while simultaneously tapping all their lands!
I know it sounds complicated but extremely useful and surprises the hell out of your opponent. In effect you get a counterspell, for free. 5 Stars!

Oh ye gods. I thought of a silly strategy to use with championing creatures(clone them with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, and champion themself) and this is the perfect one to abuse it with. Tapping a player's lands every turn is just so very mean, and if you get lucky you could pull it off by turn five. And it doesn't even require mana to keep doing it.
It's breakable if they have a mountain and bolt in hand, but still very very mean.
...I'm tempted to build a deck around this now. Two(well, three, but one generic)-card stasis combo is not at all bad.

As intricate25 said, there are nice tricks to do with this one, in addition to the obvious one. I use Unsummon on it to bring back the championed Spellstutter Sprite, myself.

Here is what I do: Spellshuttersprite, Riptide Laboratory, and this. Champion Spellshutter for a pseudo-Time Walk, then should you need to counter s spell, bounce it with Riptide (Or just bounce it during the end step to get another Time Walk).
Imagine if this could champion a Wizard like how Lightning Crafter can champion a Shaman...

There's a lot of complex card design space going on here. Not only do you have a large and efficient flying beater that puts many blue creatures in standard to shame these days, but the deck it fits into makes extensive use of the Champion keyword. As described by intracate25, not only can you counter a spell with your spellstutter sprite and then champion it for later use, but you can also champion your own Bitterblossom to avoid dying to life loss. There's at least one infinite combo revolving around changelings and the the champion keyword and a little known artifact called the Didgeridoo.

Horrible card design. Somebody had to be intoxicated when designing this card....
Step 1: Play this, championing Cloud of Fairies Step 2: Bond with Dead-Eye Navigator Step 3: Lose all your EDH friends Step 4: Profit

What... the fuck? Why did they think this was fairly costed? A 4/4 flyer for is already very good, so giving it flash and an awesome ability only comes with the "drawback" of championing your Spellstutter? Good job, WotC.

@ Kirbster
Well, having your opponent's lands tapped in not even NEAR another extra turn for yourself because your opponent still :
-Draws a card -Has Upkeep step -Can attack -Can play lands -Can tap those lands (if he played it after u cast fearie)
That is one hell of a lot of efect that aren't even near complete turn skip. This card is still very good, but that comparation to Time Walk is kinda a miss..

While the fae are a powerhouse and a bit too much for a standard environment; they were also so well done and so cool. Instant speed tricks that constantly interact with your opponent in a variety of powerful and oppressive ways makes for cool decks.
Instant speed hand-disruption, land tapping, you add bounce cards to your deck just to reset your instant speed effects! They were a value set of creatures that gained an affinity-like hatred but were/are actually pretty cool to play when they aren't the OP mess that they were.
IMO they're one of the best designed tribes for their sincere connection to the colors they're in and their beautiful non-+1/+1 synergy.
