Ironically, Thalia is the only human in Dark Ascension that would die from Scorching Fields.

I love dragons, but could've done something a lot cooler for the red mythic than just another dragon. Really need mono-red to get full benefit from this, and mono-red should be winning before it gets to use this.
@phyrexiantrygon I don't expect all mythics to be as overpowered as JTMS, in fact I find those cards are less fun. I just don't know what kind of deck this would actually work in other than a casual red deck or an at least half red EDH deck. It's a cool card, but there is only one mythic of each color in this set and I think they could have come up with something more original. It doesn't seem to go with Innistrad's theme so much.

I think the reason I like this card is not because it pumps massive token armies, not because you win the turn after you play it, not even because the flavor text is pretty sweet. No, I like it because it's wing's look like the glass weapons from Skyrim.

Underpowered? I think the game has lost touch if we're calling a six drop underpowered when it has 5/5 flying and an ability that will most likely win you the game if you have a couple of creatures out.
It's less powerful than a titan, sure, but that doesn't make it underpowered. Titans were a horrible mistake in Magic, they shouldn't be seen as an appropriate benchmark for card power.

This is a tad different from the epic dragons Todd Lockwood has made in the past, like Rith, the Awakener and my personal favortie card of all time, the originally celebrated curiously strong Niv-Mizzet This is going to be telling about what else I've been doing on the internet, but this dragon honestly looks like something that would be doing battle with an indigenous sextet troop from a plane populated primarily by equines. And yet even considering that, the level of awesome hasn't been decreased in the slightest... in fact, I'd say the quota for it's excellence as been increased by a margin of approximately one-fifth.

Anyway, upon seeing this, the Timmy in me had a heart attack, and the Johnny in me had a mental breakdown from a mind reeling with the possibilities. Firebreathing for all! How could you not go wrong with that?
She does eat up a lot of red mana though, so it'd be a real stretch to put her in anything else other than mono-red. It's still possible and I'd still recommend it for most decks, but you probably won't get her out as often or beef a full-swing as much. But considering she really works the strength in numbers route, you won't even have to dump a whole lot of mana into the universal firebreathing to generate overwhelming attack force.
It'd probably be beneficial to run her with ramping like Seething Song and Geosurge, both to help get her out earlier and to strike with devastating power. Bear in mind that something this useful is just begging to eat some spot removal, so keep some Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots (or if you really wanted to be a d!ck, Whispersilk Cloak) to help keep her alive long enough to get any use out of her.
This card is just begging to be played with Kaalia. What's the only thing worse that facing an army of angels, demons, and dragons? When that said army is breathing more fire than a volcano.
4 out of 5 for utility, amazing artwork and a flabbergasting effect, but restrictive mana costs and no built-in way to deal with all the hate she is inevitably bound to eat.
I'm surprised that no one else has caught onto the insanity inherent in teaming this guy up with Kresh the Bloodbraided. Kresh's buff depends on the power of the creature at the moment it went to the graveyard. Hey, you remember those 10 Saprolings from Mycoloth I just Devoured? Moonveil Dragon just buffed them by . They were 5/1s. And Kresh just gained 50 +1/+1 counters.

YES! Thank you for bringing mythics back to what they're supposed to be! Powerful, big, splashy, but not necessary to be competitive! I feel they've done a good job with that in Innistrad and Dark Ascension. While I do agree that he is a little underpowered, putting this at rare woulda murdered drafts
EDIT: I just pulled this, the art is AMAZING on the actual card, and it turns out that in mono-red token control, it is really good. Totally worth the mythic, because it's huge, a dragon, and has a fun, unique ability. Also, this would NOT have murdered drafts, because this is not Alara block, there isn't enough mana fixing to run this unless you're in mono-red, in which case, I hope you have enough resources to pull it off!

I don't get why everyone's hating on this card. There's plenty to line, here! Sure, Spikes should look elsewhere, but Timmies (and even the occasional Johnny) should enjoy it.
For those criticizing the mechanics, why? Nothing like this has been done before, so it's unique. Who cares if it obseletes Shivan Dragon? (Not that it even does, it costs more R than Shivan) and Shivan wasn't even fantastic in the first place (fun, awesome, but not exactly competitive.)
As for the flavor, I think it's neat. Benevolent dragons are quite common in today's fantasy, so what's wrong with Magic tossing one in? Plus the art is awesome.
Why are people comparing this to Shivan Dragon when there are literally dozens of cards (and at least several dragons) that blast Shivan Dragon to smithereens in the sets since he was last printed?

I'm gonna go with recent releases from M13: Fervor, Krenko's Command and Krenko, Mob Boss all love this card. Why? Turn 6, you play this and swing with a flying 5/5, after playing Krenko. Turn 7, you tap Krenko for more tokens, and use Moonveil Dragon's ability to boost all of the tokens up by 5+ power. Then you have a swarm of haste Goblin tokens attacking, each with 6-8 power, depending on your mana. Either way, unless your opponent has his own token army, or an amazing god-draw of mass removal, you probably win. No, most likely you do win. This just makes red tokens amazing.

It's got to be the prettiest (and most devastating) dragon card ever! I combine it with utvara hellkite (when a dragon attacks it puts a 6/6 dragon with flying into play) and a helkite tyrant (6/5 flying trample) Just power all of them (and the tokens) and your openents life drops to 0 fast. (pulled that combo on my friend and watched him squirm!) if you have a multi-color deck just use a cromatic lantern and make everything red.

Compare with Sunhome Guildmage. 3x the mana cost, 2.5x the power, and 1/3 the full team firebreathing cost. Yes, this guy is a bit difficult to get out. Yes, the sunhome guildmage makes its own tokens. Yes, in order for the to be effective you have to have A LOT of guys out. Big deal. The sunhome guildmage has nothing on this from the team firebreathing cost alone. you can bump up your team more with the three red mana in casting him than you can with three red and three white on a sunhome. Efficiency. Doubling that, if I were to throw this thing into my Boros deck, I'd be pure hell to deal with later in the game. and I'm happy with that.

Can't believe I actually found something to replace my old standby Shivan Dragon. It's true and 3 requires a heavier devotion to red but the special abilities of this and the Shivan are both designed to make use of a healthy red mana supply anyway so it doesn't even count as a drawback imho.

For those criticizing the mechanics, why? Nothing like this has been done before, so it's unique. Who cares if it obseletes Shivan Dragon? (Not that it even does, it costs more R than Shivan) and Shivan wasn't even fantastic in the first place (fun, awesome, but not exactly competitive.)
As for the flavor, I think it's neat. Benevolent dragons are quite common in today's fantasy, so what's wrong with Magic tossing one in? Plus the art is awesome.
My comment: This card is an excellent Mythic. See Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Baneslayer Angel, Thundermaw Hellkite, and Sublime Archangel for Mythics that aren't excellent.
It's a beautiful mix of a magestic dragon and the serene aura that the moon generates...it's absolutely beautiful.
(I know Moonveil Dragon is a 'good guy' by Innistrad flavor. Just go with it, okay?)

I combine it with utvara hellkite (when a dragon attacks it puts a 6/6 dragon with flying into play)
and a helkite tyrant (6/5 flying trample) Just power all of them (and the tokens) and your openents life drops to 0 fast.
(pulled that combo on my friend and watched him squirm!)
if you have a multi-color deck just use a cromatic lantern and make everything red.
