Not a great card, but wonderfully designed and the art, particularly on the 5/5 side, is fantastic.

She is so pretty, but you know she is so deadly.

Over all, card is solid. 2/2 flier for 3 is always good. And a 5/5 for 4 is always something to take notice of. Only thing I want to know is why her bat form isn't a Vampire.

I don't understand how she gets to be a 5/5. I mean, she would have to be way stronger than a minotaur, on par with some of the most battle-hardened angels, and almost up there with a titan.

How often would you actually want to transform her back into a bat?

@Half-Dead It's not only because her legs. Don't you see her young skin, her face (do not zoom in, her face is better from distance) and her badass sexy figure? I don't get why you post such comments unless you are some ugly feminine monster.

And now, let's comment her abilities. Aside being a remade Nosferatu, she has nothing to show, but she is still very usable as a 5/5 body on turn 4 that is able to transform into flyer.

"How often would you actually want to transform her back into a bat?"
Sometimes you need a creature to have wings. Turning her back into a bat won me a game.

"She's ugly, I dont get you people."
You sir, have hopelessly high expectations.

@ Smithney : "usable as a 5/5 body on turn 4"
that's a lot less likely than you'd think... unfortunately.
But, I still think this is a great card - both flavorful and useful. There are so many cards in this set that give you multiple options on one card; it's great to have versatility.

The 5/5 as a human form is fantastic, can see her running down big bad beasts and wolves in her human fighting form now.

This is undoubtely one of the best card designs of all time; it's one of the most classical vampire tropes, a straight 3cmc 2/2 flier for black where only white and blue got slots, a new 4cmc 5/5 black creature. Also, the illustrations and flavor text are great!

5/5 and I even played her yet - my only copy lies on my collection.

@Half-dead: You're retarded. She looks like the girl from Let the Right One In. Which makes sense that she can rip shit up, if you know that movie.

Horseface? I'd let her suck my blood and other bodily fluids she might have a thirst for.

Just get me a rabies shot after.

I WANT HER.

In my deck. Cus, you know, she's a good card. That's... that's what I meant.

One of the coolest M:TG cards ever made. Seeing this card reminded me of the older Christopher Lee vampire movies... awesome.

She's good. But unless your ramping & vamping she'll have to wait until t5 to become 5/5, you see it now? Rules text is pretty clear, pay 4 during UPKEEP to transform.. You, more than likely will be dropping that 4th crucial land about 3 seconds too late, sucks I know. Still good enough to play with :)

Amazing how an innocent-looking woman can be a friggin 5/5. Imagine her taking down a Galvanic Juggernaut or stopping a Stampeding Rhino in its tracks and tearing it apart.

Longass comments and I summed them up as "Mad bored peoples". I actually don't care for the card or art, i just think it's a cool transfer from classics. Well random card, Show me what you got!

What seems like a regular vampire-lady is apparently as big as your average dragon?
That, and 2/2 bats are kind of pushing it.

I don't know. I love the underlying flavor of the card, and I love how good a card it is on a mechanics level, but those stats are throwing me off.

--rant removed for pointlessness--

For the record, the full version is more compelling than this compressed, anti-aliased version. You can find the full art right here:

Edit again:
Odium1995, not so much mad and bored, as bored and unhealthily pedantic.

lol at Half-dead, hopelessly trying to recover from being pwned on the gatherer comments.
As for the card. It's fun, but unless I have almost no play in hand, I usually leave her as a 2/2 bat.

All it takes is one go for the throat and shes dead. Plus, what can you do with a 5/5 on the ground? Nothing if they have creatures out. She's almost less useful than the bat.

I think the reason she's 5/5 is because she's a vampire that's badass enough to transform into a bat. In fact, she's powerful enough that she can spend a lot of her time in an alternate form. If you've played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, think about how powerful you had to be before you could stay in bat form full time if you wanted to.

A 5/5 on the ground isn't a great attacker if your opponent has some big creatures on the board, but if you've got a Stromkirk Captain out, she becomes a remarkable deterrent to attack. Further, if you've got Curse of Stalked Prey out, you can build up some +1/+1 counters with her bat form, then transform her into an utter monstrosity. There's a reason she's called a *Stalking* Vampire.

She's not as much of a game-changer as Rakish Heir or Stromkirk Captain, but she's still decent if you've the mana to invest in her and the right build to fit her into.

Screeching Bat: pretty cool black flyer, above the curve
Stalking Vampire: *fap fap fap*

Why is she a 5/5? Vampires can do magiks =D

just ordered a playset. Cool card. Would be far better if the transform cost back into a bat was only BB.

To each their own, I find the face quite attractive.

In terms of the card, it's pretty meh. 6 for a 5/5, not light on color investment, etc, I'll pass. Limited it might be decent. I wish you could transform at instant speed.

She's ugly, I dont get you people. Is it because she's showing her legs? pity they are not in front of her face, no pun intended

@StreamHopper: stop looking at her body and look at her face. You think that's high expectations? tell me how thick eyebrows, big nostrils and horseface is hopelessly high expectations... if they are to you then I truly pity you.

@Smithney:" It's not only because her legs. Don't you see her young skin, her face (do not zoom in, her face is better from distance)and her badass sexy figure? "
She has good skin and a good body, but that doesnt make her any more pretty. I dont need to zoom in (is that even possible?), I wear glasses and even without them I can see that she retains some bat-like facial figures after transforming. Just because you hormone-driven teenagers (at least mentally) would "tap that" doesnt make her any prettier.
Also thanks for proving my point regarding beauty.

"I don't get why you post such comments unless you are some ugly feminine monster."
How does that even make sense? You think I'm jealous? That comment actually makes more sense if I was saying that she's beautiful, that way, if I was an ugly monster (at least facial-wise) It would be like i was telling myself that I am pretty (as in: yeah go for us ugly gurlz). Hell, logically thinking I could throw the same argument at you.

Well, whatever, I dont know why I thought you people would be intelligent enough to get the point and not resort to cliches. the fact that you contradicted yourself and still got a 5 star point while I got the rating that I have really says a lot, the same apllies to StreamHopper comment, since even after I showed how untrue his point was I still got rated lower.
Then again what am I doing expecting maturity on the internet? This was supposed to be just a small comment, not a crusade.

And with all this I forgot to comment on the card:

One of my top picks in draft and it always seems to pay off. Good versatility. I probably wouldnt use it outside of that though.

@NoobOfLore:
After this answer I am not really gonna waste any more time on comments filled with hypocrisy such as yours, nor flawed logic, BS and a counter-evolutionary ideology of discussion in desperate ways to make one's claim feel weak, not here to feed you, though I really had to pick on that considering It was kinda insulting (main reason why I answered in the first place).
not gonna answer anyone else either, I just checked here today to see if the discussion had died down.

I dont really need recognition if that's what you think; reason why I downvoted this discussion and even the one guy that was by my side, I dont want this to be the focus of the comments, but I wont delete my post even if it makes me look bad by lenght. (just hope that either will not be voted back to first page, it should not be the focus of this card comment)

Sorry if this is as "Painstakingly" as you said, to me its really nothing in regards of writing, not everyone in this generation expresses their opinions in what you would consider short. to me such really are so, its a pity that so many people nowadays fall into the illusion that being constructive is bad.

With that aside what I most wanted to say is that I do find her extremely beautiful in the full art, stunning, rather.
thanks for the link.

EDIT: wow, actually ended up here today when searching for the name of the other side of the card in an online draft, and I see the first comment less related to the card and more to this discussion, I see that lying and insulting at the time was not enough to some people. my post looks longer in comparison because some people removed parts of their posts at the time, insulted, and said blatant lies to help their case - such as claiming that I was here everyday when I first posted here then only edited it one or 2 weeks later - I think I did do at least one more edit after that though.
Not all of them did that, that I can remember, but dont care enough to read my own and the rest of the posts to see who is who. My fault as well for discussing with immature pricks, I guess.
