This card inspires me to make a mono red deck, and the last one I made was when I first started playing magic.
Awesome name and awesome flavor. 5/5.

I was totally shocked when I saw this card spoiled. I immediately ordered 4 of them and still can't believe it hasn't budged from $2. It combos well with Fervor, but it would have been even better if Goblin Chieftan got a reprint. Oh, well...I look forward to abusing this card to the best of my abilities.
Currently highest rated card in game. One does not simply argue with that.

A new goblin commander. Interesting. His ability is a bit like that of that rat, what was his name.. Marrow-Gnawer. Slightly worse than the gnawer though.

"On a side note, this has a slim chance of being decent in Legacy Goblins."
Why? The most common goblin finisher is enabled through the Chieftan and Warchief's haste bonus to goblins. Either the Piledriver swings for the win in a suprise attack or half a dozen smaller goblins swing for the win in a suprise attack. Krenko simply makes that second win con happen more often.
Turn 4, vial in Chieftan
Turn 5, cast a War Marshal or Siege-gang Commander, vial in Krenko, double your goblins, swing
If that doesn't work out, the opponent at least spends a turn dealing with Krenko as he's a huge threat by the time he's out.
If the game is running longer than anticipated and your Piledriver can't get through a larger defence, sometimes you just gotta make lots of smaller goblins.
Considering I broke some face at the Prerelease with this guy, I can confidently give him 4.5/5. Krenko, Goblin Aronsist (I pulled three), Goblin Battle Jester, and Spiked Baloth composed my attack force. I also included Volcanic Strength as a boost for my creatures, most often ending up on the Arsonist.
Krenko happens to ramp well with Goblin Arsonist, Krenko's Command, and Arms Dealer. I imagine they'll serve as the core Goblin cards over the next year. Add in Ring of Valkas to give Krenko haste and make him stronger over the course of the game.

In terms of flavor, this guy comes from Ravnica. Hopefully expect to see more of him when we return to the plane soon.
Any card that makes you want to build a deck around it is a good card, IMHO. This is one such card.

Thanks for all the tips! Now I have a red deck and splash green. It has x4 Krenko, Mob Boss, x4 Goblin Cheiftain, x4 Adaptive Automaition, x3 Hamletback Goliath, and x2 Parallel lives. The Hamletback Goliaths dotake up a lot of mana, but it's worth it! With the Goblin Chieftains and the Adaptive Automaitions pumping the goblins the Krenko's keep producing, they can get pretty big. Once I got all three up to 126/126, but my oponent kept using safe passage to stall! Krenko= AWESOME!!! 5/5.

easy to go infinite, in EDH especially, Thornbite Staff and a sac outlet like Spawning Pit or ride the Skull Clamp train. Mono red IS now viable and as an all Goblin deck!

this card is nothing but flavor to spice up M13 and it tastes delicious
I like this guy mostly because he's cumulative. You play him, (and because he forms a nice mana curve with Fervor) tap him, you've got a token, even if he's the only one in play. Next turn, tap, you get two more because there are two goblins in play. Turn three, tap him, you've got four more. and so on. and so on. And it works well with Arms Dealer, so I'm lucky I pulled a second one from one of the packs when I bought his deck. Pity was, the deck itself pretty much sucked. I mean, why put a guy like this in a deck that's anything but Goblin tribal? Also, in Goblin tribal, use this with cards like Warbreak Trumpeter and Goblin Offensive. Power them up using mana produced by Battle Hymn or Brightstone Ritual. Also, he's a walking Goblin Promenade. How do you argue with that? Also, he works well with Kyren Negotiations, War Cadence, and War Drums. @Majinara No, he's cheaper. He loses the Fear ability, so I'd say it evens out. Also, Rats was never a successful tribal. Goblins, however, are. @Ferlord Do you mean expensive as in $$$ or expensive as in {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}?

Use Skirk Prospector and Siege-Gang Commander to get this bad boy out on turn 3. You attack with 2 goblins. Next turn, you're tossing 6 tokens at them. Unless they kill him, this card's gonna singlehandedly win you the game.

This was the ONLY goblin I ran in my limited deck at the pre-release, and he still did me wonders by the time i was able to start making goblins in the double digits, my opponents were getting very nervous when they had no way of getting rid of him. 4/5 easy.

When you tap this card and create X 1/1 goblins, can you on your NEXT turn, do it again taking into account the goblins you created on the previous turn? If so It would seem that in no time at all, you could have an entire ARMY of goblins that would be darn near unstoppable. (which would make sense why they call this deck "MOB rule" ) Or can you only create goblins with him one time?
FatalEagle
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@Ying Yes, you can do it the turn after you summon him (if he doesn't have haste) and the turn after that too. And all turns after that, as long as he's on the battlefield and you're able to tap him. If it were a one-time thing, it would be worded similar to Chancellor of the Forge. And that's why this guy's rated 4.4.

I've used Sublime Archangel in my angels/goblins deck, in conjunction with Krenko, Mob Boss and Akroma's Memorial. There's something to be said about having 50+ Goblins on the board, all with flying, first strike, vigilance, haste, trample and protection from red and black. Combine that with all my creatures being exalted, attack with one goblin = at least +50/+50. My death by ant bite, goblins attack has become a one strike devastating attack.

1st turn Goblin Arsonist, 2nd turn Krenko's Command, 3rd turn Fervor, 4th turn Krenko, Mob Boss, 5th turn Battle Hymn and Moonveil Dragon. Attack with an 11-1 Arsonist, and 10x 11-1 goblin tokens. Fin. Alternatively throw a Ring of Valkas on a Kruin Striker and watch people's eyes flick between Kruin and Krenko.

With the new RtR cards, I figured I'd play around with overload and Krenko's massing abilities. There's something special about a ghetto overrun using Dynacharge after tapping Krenko once or twice. On the other end, an overloaded Teleportal gives you a ton of secret agent goblins and a quick overloaded Mizzium Skin will protect your entire horde in a pinch, all with a minimum of mana used (especially with the new Goblin Electromancers which are also conveniently goblins. My current setup is rough, but I feel like there could be something to it.

Krenko is the most Hedge General I know.
A Hedge General is a general that wins very often and very frequently if he isn't looked after; trimmed; dealt with early enough. Once you've Chaos Warp'ed him, game over mate. Without him, a Goblin EDH deck would be very weak: Goblin Piledriver will have little to help him, Skirk Prospertor won't be able to give you enough mana, and you had better keep playing more and more creatures once Eldrazi Monument is out.
On that note, Eldrazi Monument is Krenko's best friend. It means that the only way to kill him is through exiling/Chaos Warping/bouncing (If that counts), and even if he's the only one on the field, he can just tap to get that one goblin to continue sacrificing until you can plat another.
Just a thought. First Main phase. Play Aurelia, the Warleader. Then tap Krenko, Mob Boss for goblins. Combat phase. Attack once, untap all creatures you control.Attack again. Second Main phase. Tap Krenko, Mob Boss. Poop more goblins.

Dear Krenko,
I like your style. Here's hoping it works out for you. Just wondering though, don't you think it would help to crack some of your own boys' skulls sometimes? I find it motivates the lads into fighting harder, makes 'em more fearsome if you know what I mean. Still, whatever works for you. Keep up the good work. It's about time one of our kind hit it big in standard again.
Combos with Savage Surge or Burst of Strength, Krenko on his jack jones gives you 4, 2 gives you 8 (6 tokens), 3 12 (+9), 4 - 16 (+12) etc.Edit: not even mentioning a certain Bracers. Also, in Boros colours use with Mentor of the Meek and Battle Hymn you could draw insane amounts of cards. Just watch out for all the things like Golgari Charm.
Force an opponent to use a removal spell or have a strong chance of losing the game.

Ridiculously powerful. My goblin deck can kill someone in EDH on my fourth turn, then kill two more people on my fifth turn, largely due to this guy right here. Dealing over 120 points of damage by your fifth turn is ridiculous, and it's all mono-red, and only using one legendary. He's powerful.

I love the idea of this card, but I sure wish there weren't so many ways to go infinite with him. Combo is fine in duels, but I'm sick of having nice multiplayer EDH games suddenly end in an infinite loop.
Staring down an army of thirty goblins is epic and tense. Everybody instantaneously dying in the same turn from 1,000,000 triggers of Warstorm Surge is disappointing, especially after spending half an hour developing our board positions.
