Really good in limited. as Trample tends to be a huge ability. And cycling tends to be really good for limited too. outside that, pretty much useless.

Anyone remember Rancor? It cost one, I think, and it got +2, +0 AND trample. Maybe I'm an old fart, but I don't want to pay 2 more for +1 +0 LESS and cycling. Cycling. Woo hoo... In a blue/green deck, for 2, I could just draw a card!

@Kuzimu: Rancor was quite broken. I would love for it to be remade. But as for this card, its not bad in limited. Works well in mid range Naya decks that need a way for their 5/4 Wolly Thoctar to deal its damage without worrying about chump blockers. But yeah, only relevant in Limited, and even then, i only see it as like a 9-12th pick in draft.

you'll probably just want to cycle this card anyway

Rancor was- and possibly still is- considered the best creature enchantment of all time. Let's not compare this with that.

Cycling is treated on commons as though it's packing the power-nine into a keyword ability. The card pays out the ass for it. On rares, it factors into the card's cost as much as flavour text. I can't imagine what it would be like on a mythic rare. Cycling it GIVES you mana, maybe?

Versatility is nice, but they keep putting it on jank cards. You want versitility? Play split cards.

If nothing else, this card has really damn good art.

You people have no imagination! I want to cycle this so my Sun Titan gets +1/+0 and gains trample while I draw more action. Like that Sigil of the Nayan Gods I plan to cycle, too. Just add some cycling Spirit Link effect and I'm good to go.

Glad Rancor got reprinted in M13 instead of some junk like this.

Bottom feeder card. But if you need it for a filler, it can give something nasty trample, or can toss itself if you want another draw.

So much worse than Rancor (another common, mind you) that it hurts. This would have been decent at 1Green, which is also the "fixed" price for Rancor.
