An unusually strong card at common. Wow.

Looks a little unreliable in my opinion. That said, on turn 4 you're probably going to hit something expensive rather than a land or cheap card.

Just like Hellhole Rats, but, you know...good.

As long as you hit them for 3-4 it seems like a pretty good deal. Of course sometimes you'll do none and sometimes you may do 8, but that's what happens when you use chance based cards. Either way a good card. 4/5.

I have to say, I believe this card is incredibly underrated. Considering that your average deck is going to have more cards in the 3-5 cmc range, statistically speaking, you will have a pretty good chance of hitting 3-5 damage each time he hits the battlefield. Used properly, this card can be devastating. Blinking him in and out can cause some serious damage.

im only giving this a 3.5/5. the ability is nice, but it needs to be finished with the revealed card being discarded too to make it worth all the trouble.

Awesome card, especially late in the game! The only thing left will be expensive cards. Even if you get a basic land, you still have a 3/2 ogre mutant. LOL...how can you have a mutant ogre? They're already practically mutants!

this card is considerably underrated, this card is incredible, a decent body for 4 manna even without added ability. and his effect destroys your opponent. his manna cost is perfect since, on turn 4, your opponent is most likely holding on to some bigger cards to drop and it will probably end up dealing 5 and up damage. and for four, its alright even if it only get 3 or 4

This card would be somewhat playable if the card was discarded, not just revealed.

I didn't really give this much credit at first, but playing it in my casual Sedris Reanimator deck has certainly improved my opinion of this guy. A three power for four mana is not too good, but if it's unearthed, it'll just charge in headfirst anyway, and I tend to average a life loss of at least 3-4. If it gets to hit too, that'll be 6-7 life gone for your opponent. Not that bad a deal at all. If you've got some, certainly worth trying out in casual!

I actually kind of like this card for a common. It would be nice if that card was then discarded, but hey you can't have everything...

no way you hit them for 8 with an ultimatum. They are all CMC 7

@Arach: He's a mutant because he's got freaky mind powers, man. Most ogres are only concerned with munching bones and crushing skulls.

If you're using this with a deck that has a heavy land destruction element there's a good chance you're going to hit some high cmc spells. 4/5

The problem is, my brother uses nothing but those stupid Myrs, and all of them have a CMC of, what, two?

I can say from experience that this IS a reliable card. This CAN win games. No joke. Just put on some artifact equipment lying around and you're ready to go. This guy deals good damage out of the box, I've never regretted playing him ever. Anybody who uses 2 or more in their deck knows what I'm talking about.

Used with Distress and the like, combined with land destruction as has been mentioned you're guaranteed to hit something big(gish)
