Maybe you could hand it off with Puca's Mischief...? But the real idea of this card in a a Goblin deck is to discard a Goblin card. In Morningtide and Lorwynn, Goblins run a lot of reanimation and sacrificing.

It is a 2CMC 2/2 with a penalty in black, the color with the least efficient creatures, and the color best suited to making that penalty into an advantage.

Love the art for this card. The despondent look on his face really gives me a lot more love for this card than I would otherwise have.

Come on, guys... 'penalty'?
How about Threshold? How about Madness? How about many of the cards from the Odyssey block? How about playing cards from your graveyard?
All you Timmy players out there need to open up your minds a little bit.
Poor ol' Exiled Boggart. :(

Surely madness would work well with this guy?

Okay...in most STANDARD decks, this guy will generally cause a penalty. But deck from the Odyssey block, dredge, madness, hellbent, playing from the graveyard, etc. So it has its uses, but not in most decks that we're seeing right now. In Lorwyn it seems like a drawback, because there's not a heavy graveyard theme in Lorwyn...but it can be quite good in the right deck, with a sac outlet andn Mortician's Beetle
3.5/5 (Okay, I'd give it a 3/5, but he's so damn cute!)

Quite possibly the saddest art in Magic.

If you swords him, he's an exiled exiled boggart.

This guy can help necromancers get rid of expensive cards that are useless in their hand and need to be in the graveyard.
This guy would go well with Madness if you could plan exactly when he would cause you to discard. But quite often opponents will kill him at the wrong time, when you didn't want to Madness anything, just to spite you.

This is what happens when Auntie's Snitch reports a boggart with Hoarder's Greed.
Don't feel bad, little guy! BW reanimate has a place for you!
