Combo with bazaar trader by trading the card to yourself :) very good deal. Permanent effect overrules temporary :D

I actually took this out of my Political Puppets deck due to concerns over his color weight. That Bazaar Trader combo though has me rethinking my decision...

Zedruu the Greathearted can do everything bazaar trader can do (albeit for a lot more mana) and has the added benefit of being your EDH Gen... I mean, Commander.

@Leonin_Kha_Cameron: Actually, Zedruu says you can give control to target opponent, whereas Bazaar trader is target player. Being able to keep something for yourself is nice, but giving one opponent's best creature to another opponent to keep is a pretty useful political move. Also, Bazaar trader only works on artifacts, creatures, and lands, so there are combos for each that don't work with the other. Id you're running the political puppets deck, run both.
My brother HATES it when i get this card out. It really is a game winner.

Overlooked functionality: it lets you mana accelerate if you desperately need to, which is kinda cool.

An incredibly fun card, and another awesome tool for an Izzet deck. Diamond Valley effectively causes this guy to cast Spinal Embrace free every turn, which could come in handy.
Nice that it says permanent so you can jack other peoples' planeswalkers. But I'm pretty sure everyone has figured that out already. I'm just stating the light bulb moment that I had with this card. Doesn't make it any less good...

Enchantments with haste? All this and more, next; on Sick, Sad World.

This card makes Bringer of the Red Dawn look silly. Plus it's awesome especially with copy effects.
An easy 4.5/5.

I'm seeing this as really really silly in a multiplayer game with teams but separate turns, especially with Planeswalkers. Double the number of ability activations? Yes please.
Give Time Vault to your opponent, then during your next upkeep take it back and untap it. Tap it to get the extra turn. At the end of the first turn it goes back to your opponent's control (I think? If it doesn't then give it back with Zedruu or Trader some time during that turn) and then at the start of the extra turn take it back, untap it again, and repeat. You win.

I always wanted to have a land with haste but why would you take a land when you could take anything else including a planeswalker.

I'm always surprised when hear about other people's EDH groups and how no one has made the decision to allow the Shadowmoor/Lorwyn Spirit Avatars and the Nephilim as commanders. I know that none of them are legendary but c'mon. It is a casual format and four color commanders are awesome. Also awesome: Having Honden of Seeing Winds or Humility as your Commander.

For those interested in the Eventide/Shadowmoor Deity (Spirit Avatar) Cycles:
I often imagine Dominus just tossing hapless opposing creatures straight into the maw of Doomgape or into the clutches of Brion Stoutarm.

I hope I'm not the only person who first only saw the image and assumed that Dominous was female... until finally read the flavor text.
Time Vault shenanigans are totally moot. It only will untap at the cost of a player's turn, and it is totally optional. Since your opponent will see it coming immediately, the only way it's untapping is if either you sacrifice your turn, take control of their turn (in which case, why aren't you just winning?), or using alternate untap methods (so why combo with Dominus?).
