This... kinda fails. Could anyone please explain to me why this even got 2.5?

This card was usable in Mirrodin block with Confusion in the Ranks to hose your opponent. Its fun in a reverse control burn deck, but aside that it does fail at life. Artificial life? Failing at artifical life = double fail. 2/5

To the guy asking why it got a decent rating: It's a 4/6 creature for 4 generic mana. It's good in decks that are either very light on creatures, or bring creatures into play by other means instead of playing them (aether vial, zombify, soul foundry or whatnot).
You could also use cards to give it to your opponent to stop him/her from playing creatures.

@ Forgeling Because it's build by the Vedalken as the flavor text says. And Myr are only fabricated by Memnarch himself.

donate and then use a regenerating creature against it.

This creature is so fail I don't even know where to start. Maybe it would be playable if it was 6/6 but this just isn't. I can think of so many 4 drops that is so much better than 4/6 with negative ability. I hear a lot of people screaming donate but you know what other 4 mana card you can donate; Illusion of Grandeur and that actually kills the guy.
If you like donating stuff and you like Commander, why not try running this with Zedruu, the Greathearted? Yes, BattleFish is right, Illusions of Grandeur is a good donate card as well, but I wouldn't say better, as your opponent may be able to kill you before the Illusions gets them. Especially in Commander, with the greater life totals. Also, with 100 cards and the singleton format, having more hoser cards to donate than just Illusions and Delusions of Mediocrity would be advisable. Throw in Steel Golem too.

Its steel golem's fatter big bro! @Sarroth For Commander, why just stop them from playing creature spells? Celestial dawn turns all of their mana symbols white. And if they don't have a white general, well, they are screwed.
Don't forget Zedruu fans, you can always steal this back with Homeward Path for a quick blocker prior to donating it again!

See, I'd think cards like this are bad, especially in limited.
But how wrong am I!
When you play this, your opponent somewhat benefits. They wouldn't want you to lose this, because then you can re-play creatures.
So what do you think they're going to do when you attack with it? Block it with something powerful? No, they're going to let it through (of block it with something else). The same goes for when they attack: They may be ess inclined to attack when you've got this out for the same reason.
It's magic politics.
