When I was young, I got one of these guys in a pack. I tried to realize if it had any potential, but it never did anything except for die and take my lands with it.

Well, this card IS very circumstantial, but as a goblin-user myself, I only see Bazaar Trader. It's not completely useless.

Donate this and annoy your opponents by giving it phasing.

@aznxknightz, phasing doesn't trigger come-into-play or leave-play effects, unfortunately.

this is an incredibly good card to get rid of that sorrows path you played the turn it attacked and was blocked

currently has a worse rating than wood elemental. And that's terrible.

Wizards: "We hate our consumer base, which is why we keep printing worthless cards like grizzly bears. However, you keep buying boosters. There is only one solution: print an even MORE worthless grizzly bears."

Conjurer's Closet is the best card with this

Again, this is a limited-only card, to give your red goblin deck some two drop fodder. No, it's not good and limited is pretty much the only place you'd ever see this.

Sac it to Goblin Sledder to further pump your Akki Raider!
I think this could have been a 2/3 or a 3/2 even. But I understand the joke that red can never get a 2/2 vanilla goblin for {1}{R}.

"Yo dude. Here's some explosives."

"Nicol Bolas, I think you connected that to our own lands"

"What? Really? Why would I do that? When have I ever done something evil? Now come on, go and die for me."

The Bazaar Trader combo isn't an entirely bad idea, since both cards are goblins and there are enough goblin searchers to actually make it work reliably.

It's still not worth it, though, since you have to kill the Firebug.

Hmm. Maybe with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Bazaar Trader? Copy it with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, give the copy to your opponent with Bazaar Trader. It's three cards, but again, it's all goblins, so you can easily tutor it up with the various goblin searchers. The problem is that I don't think the copy dies if your opponent has control of it -- Kiki-Jiki says that you sacrifice it, and if you no longer control it, you simply can't.

(Now I'm thinking of better cards to use the Kiki-Jiki / Bazaar Trader combo with.)

@Moleland: Making each player sacrifice a land would actually have been very overpowered, even without any combos. It would have been like Strip Mine on a 2/2 body -- just fill your deck with cheap two-mana goblins, run four copies of this and some other land destruction, and watch as slower decks find themselves completely unable to compete with you.

Should of made this card's abilty 'When Goblin firebug leaves play, each player sacrifices a land.' - Would still of been flavourful

EDIT

@Aquillion - Perhaps you are right, although I think something along my own lines would make this a better and flavourful card.

Perhaps my idea, but an increase in CMC? Or perhaps "When Goblin Firebug dies, you may sacrifice 2 lands - If you do, each other player sacrifices a land." Although that much chaos might mean a increase to the cost as well.

Right, because red cannot have bears. AT ANY COST
