This card is rad. You have to try it with Marisi's Twinclaws, it makes him a 5/7 double strike, you can't beat that.

this card is good if your opponent has exhasted all removal from his hand. but very bad when you attack with something and they destroy your knight and then kill the newly debuffed creatures.

While its true that this guy will be the opponent's immediate target when it hits the board, it has extremely massive synergy with other multi-colored creatures. My advice would be to enchant this guy with Shield of the Oversoul to keep him from getting killed by burn and destroy spells.

I simply adore this guy. All the (Shard)blades are insane with him.

I think this guy may replace the Wilt-Leaf Liege in green/white decks, if the liege cycles out of the standard format. As mentioned above, he's great with blades as he turns them into 6/5 creatures with abilities that still cost only 2 to cast. The downside is that he requies significantly more backup than the aformentioned liege. Any deck you play him in would almost certainly need to run 4 Dauntless Escort.

He's either a human from Bant, or, a merman from Las Vegas.

He looks neat, but often results in a 2-for-X in favor of your opponent when he dies as you attack with your newly buffed army.

Amazing in five color decks (Ovbiously) and he is going to be targeted as soon as he comes into play, so I would reccomend using shielding plax or a similiar card on him. A few people that he is good with is Bant Sureblade (Once Knight of alara is in play, Bant Sureblade will be a 6/5 with first strike) and he is also Amazing with Progenitus. Since he isn't targeting progenitus, his ability still works and he makes Progenitus a whopping 15/15.

But the thing is, LukeMan, Progenitus doesn't need any boosting.

the flair text makes almost no sense since this guy is the opposite of grixis......wtf

The flavor text does make sense (froggytherock). The 5 separate worlds from this block were becoming one. This guy is apparently "embracing" the new world in doing so he is betraying his old world, hence his name and the flavor text.

Fehhhhh...
I wish more lords would pump themselves or at least have more impressive bodies should they have more awkward casting costs.

It feels so weird paying more than 3 for a lord to me.

He can embrace Grixis all he wants. It's just gonna make the zombies eat him faster. Apparently there's such a thing as being TOO politically correct.

@HairlessThoctar: I know what you mean, but try to think of it this way; people are willing to pay 5 mana for an Overrun that *only* gives all of your creatures +3/+3 and trample for a single turn. In the right deck Knight of New Alara should give all of your creatures at least +2/+2 while also giving you a nice 2/2 creature, all for 4 mana.
Lords being expensive can be justified because they're more or less permanent buffs to the rest of your creatures while at the same time being creatures themselves. And the bigger the buff, the more people are willing to pay for it.

@KnightofSerra- And what about the Vithians and other humans still living in Grixis?

Pretty sweet, especially in Hazezon Tamar EDH. Suddenly you're putting about 7 4/4s into play.

Okay he is obviously meant to go into a 5 color deck. But still man 2/2 for 4 without any other self helping abilities. I guess its worth it to give a 5 color creature +5/+5
