That is one smug-looking goblin.

He looks like a petrified old witch, I like it.

Took an arrow to the knee, and still an adventurer...

Love the art! Especially since I'm going to be using this protect Guttersnipe and burn people in the face in the process.

If they had this spell in Skyrim the world would've been filled with adventuring Mages.

More beautiful utility options from the overload mechanic.

Gives your guys hexproof and +0/+1 So the bigger ass may help them stay alive thru a mizzium mortar or block better or something. Then preventing each of your creature from being targeted seems like it would be helpful against something that targets every creature individually, but the cards name evades my brain currently.

Wondering why this is good? Here's a hint, look at the third word on the third line and hold it next to the keyword.

@Vakyoom

Grip of Chaos I believe.

not bad for limited.

A very cheap, yet powerful spell with an overload ability that pros like me can get behind.

Amusingly, proves to be an excellent counter to Hex.

The problem is, if they're blowing up all your critters, chances are it's not through targeting. Still, hilarious art, fun effect, and potentially completely screws over an opponent. Meteor Storm, anyone?

This is the sleeper hit of the set I think. 2 mana protects ALL of your guys from everything except board sweepers for an entire turn. It can even save your creatures from red sweepers such as Electrickery, Pyroclasm, or even Bonfire of the Damned (depending on the toughness of your creatures and what {X} is)

This card is amazing in Limited, and it has pretty decent utility outside of Limited.

@ Totema:
He's got a right to be smug. An arrow just shattered on his pecs.

Dat face.

"Problem, archers?"

Hmmmm...........removal of removal- I like it. The overload could be very useful against cards like Flames of the Firebrand.

Kind of like a Vines of Vastwood without the kicker, since the overload is rarely going to be very useful. But it's cheap, so if you can afford it, why not? Counters a spell and potentially stops any other plays they might have attempted this turn. Plus, it can be used as a combat trick to turn what would be trades into 1-for-1's, 2-for-1's, etc trading this instead of your guys. I really like this in Limited.

Mizzium Mortars can break through Mizzium Skin only when overloaded.

This effect really similar to turn aside. You pretty much negate removal for a turn. I don't see why there is that much of a difference in the scores.

I have noticed that there seem to be two variants of this card. Don't think this was intentional. Its a red mark over the letter "o" in control in the card de***ion. Some have it and some don't, anyone else notice this?

3.5/5. Excellent combat trick and a great way to answer removal. It has the added bonus of giving all of your creatures cover against removal and your creatures get pumped. In late games this has game winning potential.

Amazing in limited. Very underrated. I can't count the number of times it has gotten me through a Stab Wound, Auger Spree, Annihilating Fire, or even something like Paralyzing Grasp for the win. I even use it for some great block tricks once in a while.

Who or what exactly is Mizzium?

Also gives +0/+1 which means blocking 2/2s is no problem for guttersnipe, goblin electromancer, and nivix guildmage, insane utility for one blue. probably only overshadowed by unsummon.

Another advantage this card has over Turn Aside is that you can cast it even if there isn't a spell that you need to counter, for example, to boost your dudes that have "whenever you cast an instant or sorcery" effects.

Agree with the sleeper hit in limited comment... Just drafted a few of these for some simic aggro, and got mileage out of the buff and the hexproof. Don't underestimate this little card - you will almost always find a use for it.

It's a good thing they made Hexproof a keyword otherwise this card would be a bit weird.
"Okay so now my creatures can't be the each of spells or abilities you control, whuch means, uh...."

@azure_drake: Mizzium is a substance of some variety invented by Niv-Mizzet, who rather enjoys naming things after himself and generally being arrogant.

A nice way to protect your creatures in UW Heroic decks, or just to proc their abilities for the victory.

One of in the sideboard of a tourney winning legacy Delver of Secrets deck. Never something I thought would apply to this card, but hey when you have a niche...
