Definitly broken. Chances are your two creatures are going to be WAY better than your opponents three. Combined with some coming into play abilities and you have game over.

I get the idea behind this card, but it's obscenely broken at only three creatures. It needs to be something like 7-10 to work.

Bah-roken. It's tooth and nail against any not-creatureless deck. Oh wait, did I forget to mention it's only four mana?

Yo, Use this card to pull out Vigor and Empyrial Archange. Then Fireball yourself to end the game nice and quick.

A perfect example of why at any given time you ought to have some enchantment/artifact or creature removal in your hand. For all that this card is broken, it's no where near as broken as an isochron scepter imprinted with anything. For that matter, it would be easy to wait for your opponent to play this, then just wear away ASAP and think no more of it.
I run two of these in my green deck (my local metagame includes pretty much anything that isn't unglued or unhinged) and it's not bad at all, but like I said, easy to respond to.
And when Rhox and Spearbreaker Behemoth are staring you in the face for letting it go off, you learn to respond to it pretty quickly.

If it's so broken, than can someone show me the dominating decks that run this in their formats. Even paste formats like the standard envirment it was in.

I'm not saying it's not broken, I'm saying I can't find it in all the winning decks. It's probably one of those "amazing in casual but kinda sucky in competitive."

The card is powerful but not broken. In the current Vintage/Legacy environment, there are quite a few creatureless decks, so this card would never trigger.

It's more powerful in casual games, because there are usually more creatures. This card is also pretty useful in multiplayer, as someone is likely to have a creature-heavy deck.

I'm thinking, for land in a deck with this... Kamigawa's Forbidden Orchard should get your opponent at 3 creatures by turn 2. Surely you can get this out by turn 3 no problem so you're more or less good to go. Perhaps even turn two with a bit of creativity. Nice. In a bad way.

Use Dramatic Entrance on the same turn and get 3 Hellkite Overlords, possibly on turn 4.

I like the part where this is basically a four mana Tooth and Nail, entwined. That seems balanced :P

My jaw dropped when I pulled this all those years ago. It still hasn't gone back up. There's just no way to comprehend what's going on here. "Hmm, you've got three goblins, okay, guess it's time to break out my two Verdant Forces." Madness.

I love this card. Got four of them... devestation always ensues... too bad I have practically no good creatures in the deck :/

This card would be a little more fair if the opponent had to have 3 MORE creatures then you. At least at that point they could sort of control what was going on. But 3 creatures, period, even if you outnumber then already? What the heck...

I was just browsing through the Urza block cards to see just what level of ridiculous I could find and just oh my god...
It's like Wizards had some sort of civil war or something, that's the only way I could describe the apparent nonexistence of the development team on this set- they were all killed off by the designers.
Good lord this isn't even the number one rated card.

I don't know what you're complaining about... I mean, what are the odds your opponent will have THREE creatures?

wtf let me get this straight, can you trigger this than bounce it to your hand, so you dont have to sac it.... ??? if you can than wtf... this will go straight into my artifact/simic deck, how did this see print.

(the last ruling leads me too believe you can bounce it to you hand after it triggers than you can keep it)

I've had one for a while, and just traded for two more. Now i just need some big/combo-y creatures with support and i am set.

You should just pull, as someone suggested, Iona and Painter's Servant.
Or you could pull Pestermite/Deceiver Exarch and Kiki-Jiki

You know what I think I want to do just because it would be absurd amounts of fun and give me an excuse to use her? Akroma, Angel of Wrath

I want to get one and throw it in my green deck, so for that once in a lifetime moment. "Oh, look, you have more than 3 creatures. Oh, and they're black." *cue maniacal laughter as I search for Akroma

Use with cards that put creature tokens into play under opponent's control, such as Hunted Troll or Forbidden Orchard, then just make sure you run some fatties in your deck as well. My personal favourite is a 1-of of Emrakul, The Aeons Torn with a 1-of Urabrask, The Hidden, hasty Emrakul for {3}{G}? Yes, please!
Villainous1
★★☆☆☆ (2.8/5.0) (2 votes)
So just because my opponent has three creatures, I get to drop Emrakul and Progenitus for free without even having them in my hand. This is fair and just.

Combos with most of the hunted creatures from Ravinca, this is just 1 green and easily splashable with any other colour you use for your hunted

Just make sure you bring out stuff with evasion or trample and the game is almost set unless your opponent has removal

It takes almost an entire round to trigger this. That is a lot of time to respond.
Still, you can have fun with this card, or you can be a jerk. Grabbing a couple of Terra Stompers is likely to win you the game, but they still have a fighting chance. Even if you grab It that Betrays and Keldon Firebombers, they could still kill the Eldrazi in response.

Well, this is dumb. BongRipper's right. Urza was a great leader, but a *** game developer. xD

This is an interesting effect tho- I'd like to see it be more restrictive- say search for green creatures with CMC 4 or less? Then it would be ok at...3GGG -.-

played a lot of EDH at the Vancouver GP today, got to abuse this with a Sol Ring and a Forbiden Orchard to get a turn 3 win with Triskelion and Mikeaus, the Unhallowed

It's friggin' entwined Tooth and Nail with an easily played around restriction (Forbidden Orchard, hunted anything, blah blah blah). WHAT THE HELL?

Another broken card in ursas block, how surprising.

Were the developers drunk when they made this block?

You know the best part of this card? It came in an intro deck. A 10ish dollar intro deck. I really wish I played Magic before the Innistrad block, back when intro decks didn't completely suck. Okay, so Wolfir Silverheart is really good. But not as good as this or Umezawa's Jitte.

My first ever rare and one of my favourite cards of all time. Drop it when they have 3-4 creatures out and watch them squirm in their next turn as they desperately try to get rid of some of their own critters. Whatever's coming, they know it's pretty much KO.

This card is just too broken. A friend plays this together with two Worldspine Wurms and the Altar Of Dementia that is NOT funny!

In EDH it's basically a super cheap double creature-to-the-battlefield tutor, that can be played in a Primal Surge deck. The hard part is finding a combo that is fun but doesn't end the game immediately.
