Commander??? Yea, don't see this being useful anywhere else.

...so don't use other sorceries or instants, and you've got it made?
(or you deck yourself next turn)

You do not HAVE to deck yourself, there is a reason this card states you "may" put it onto the battlefield.

Also, that shouldn't even matter, if an opponent lets this resolve you should win that turn or you're not using it right.

All-creature deck, here I come! Can probably be Johnny'd.

I usually only play 1 or 2 non permanents in mono green commander anyway.

Congregation at Dawn would at least give you three creatures to start.

Sometimes I get these Primal Surges, but my mommy tells me that's just a normal part of growing up...

The main problem is that you can't really do this as a four-of and have the rest be creatures and other permanents, as you run the risk of flipping another one of these. An interesting card, but really risky unless totally built around

Seems like a different sort of Genesis Wave.

This here's a card people will want to try to break. It's green. Green can ramp. Can it can ramp to ten mana quickly enough to pull this off? Probably not, at least not in this environment. This'll be much fun in EDH though.

A definite "Build around me" card. Run as a 1 of in a G/B deck with rune scarred demon and a lot of ramp. Dumping most of your library onto the field turn 6 or so is never bad.

For most decks genesis wave will be the better option though

This is just ridiculous. As easy as it is to get mana in green, or to do green/red manaramp, this could be basically "put your whole library onto the battlefield" in one card, instead of a convoluted combo.

This is still a combo card, though, because you need to combo it with some pretty heavy mana ramp. Sure, all green decks have some mana ramp anyway, but usually not quite this much.

I used this, next turn ran into a Killing Wave. Almost table flipped. Almost.

my allies deck is going to love this so freaking much. just need to track down a second harabaz druid and i am all set to drop about 15 cards all at once.

edit- just rebuilt my allies deck so that this is the only non-permanant card in it. with a pair of Hagra Diabolists, i worked out that each one does approx 30 damage 30 times for over 2000 life lost if i just flip over my libary.

Wonder if this was a miracle at a certain point... It sure took the spot of the green mythic one.

I prefer Genesis Wave, because it's more versatile and reliable.

There's something incredible depressing about playing this 10 mana card, and revealing a non-permanent card off the top of your deck.

Why havnt anyone mentioned the obvious combo with Warstorm Surge and/or Urabrask the Hidden?...
ramp ramp ramp, now DIE! *evil grin*
Fun card!

I got this on the second day of pre-release. I lived the dream and managed to cast it, and at least got five deep (three lands, one creature, one equipment, the lands allowed me to even pay the equip cost).

I still lost that game to a Dark Impostor I could not get rid of. vv

This shouldn't be hard to pull off. Green can ramp. A lot. Add blue for the perfect enabler. Selective Memory

@j_mindfingerpainter Except Abundant Growth can tap for blue?

Y'know, I bet you can do something pretty super cool with this and Selective Memory. Even lets you run multiple copies of Surge. Just ramp like a madman, Selective Memory the rabble, and drop your Surge.

It looks like all the animals are all singing together in a choir. Except for the Rhino. He thinks the song is silly. Play this using Galvanoth?

This lets you play a Laboratory Maniac deck without any blue mana...and since it's green, the high cost can be offset rather easily, especially with Druids' Repository, which is also from this set!

Noel deCordova just came out with a pretty sweet idea for ramping up to this card. This card is a singleton and it's the only non-permanent in the deck. You win because Abundant Growth draws you a card and Laboratory Maniac wins the game for you once you do. The only problem is there's no {U} mana acceleration in the deck and it's hard to win if you draw the Maniac.

EDIT: @ Nonprofitparrot: I said {U} mana acceleration. Even having a Birds of Paradise would be nice but Abundant Growth doesn't accelerate mana because it gives the ability to a land.

I used Joraga Treespeaker to cast Vorinclex, Voice of hunger on turn 6 in a mono green deck filled with all permanents
then come turn 7 I used this and cast everything besides the bottom 5 cards of my deck
I had 25 4/4s because of rampaging balloths and a ton of other fatties on the field
and the other dude couldn't do shit about it cause he was running white green heals like a chump!
That was the hardest i've ever seen anybody lose

Just got the "Bound by Strength" deck and this card came in the booster pack. I will agree that the best combo for this card is B/G. Very great card, I am glad to have it.

This card was broken before it was born, with Doomsday + Shelldock Isle + Laboratory Maniac and your cantripping permanent of choice. It might work as a decent alternate win condition for that combo deck, since an opponent will be expecting to see you Shelldock-cast Emrakul.

Make a deck that primarily works with Creatures with etb effects, and have lots and lots of lulz.

A casual game I played in ended abruptly when one of the players used this in conjunction with Laboratory Maniac and some ETB=draw-a-card creatures. And yes, this was the only non-permanent in his entire deck. Most of us were not amused. Although in retrospect, that is admittedly a fairly awesome way to win.

In my Elf EDH deck, this is my only non permanent, so I can revel the whole deck if I wanted to with an Akroma's Memorial to win. I also put in a lot high power/toughness creatures. Pretty hilarious to watch my whole deck go into play and win. I can pull this off on turn 4 at the quickest

A self mill deck with reclaim and/or noxious revival with elixlar of the unmillable. bunch of beefcakes and craterhoof behemoth and fervor. wait till you draw primal surge from the topper, the deck should consist of stall(feeling of dread?) and self mill(search your deck for lands counts as minamizing the library) maybe also toss in the mad man (labatory manic) for a creature for the "CRATER" and if you somehow don't win by the confusing mess i would call "The Mad Man's Mind Splatter" I AM REALLY TIRED

It´s funny...

When I join "casual" EDH games, I always get confronted with mass ramping, titans and fatties of all kinds, but as soon as I go infinite with my Oona - 1/1 faeries - EDH deck (even in a normal EDH game), everyone starts to get whiney and I get kicked...

But of course... to ramp and play creatures which are at least 4 times as big as yours is totally ok... lol

Needs to be built around, but still extremely effective if done so correctly. It's high cost shouldn't even be a problem, it's green. Though I prefer Genesis Wave in my ramp deck.
Radagast

Devastating, though harder to control than Genesis Wave because of the Exile effect. Still, in the right deck, this card basically reads "put your entire deck into play and laugh evilly."

I think I'd rather just Genesis Wave. Much more versatile, hits *most* of the same stuff (casting it at this cost would be 7 7- cost permanents and means you don't get stuck if you hit a non-permanent.)

That said, this is still a card that made my jaw drop for moment :D

Watch the last video of the page, and if you want to jump to the good part, the eight minute mark is where you'll want to tune in. It's how you properly build around this card.

I run this as my secondary/late game win con in my EDH kraj deck. Even with having Genisis wave as my only other non-perm, its extremely hard to play this and not hit enough cards to combo up and shutdown/kill everyone.
djflo
★★★☆☆ (3.5/5.0) (1 vote)
@Nerphice, in fact you will end up with 0 cards in your library if this doesn't hit a non-permanent.
Yes, you may put it onto the battlefield, but if you don't it just stays exiled.

So long as you have something that gives your guys haste, you should destroy them that turn (Concordant Crossroads in Green works).

DING DONG YOU ARE WRONG.
The card clearly states that you MAY put it onto the battlefield.
You are in full control.
There's no need to worry about milling yourself.

Play with Cream of the Crop. I'll play four of each and still throw down 90 % of my deck.

How about this with x4 Rune-Scarred Demon to tutor it out, in a GreenBlack ramp with this as the ONLY non permanent.
Put your entire library into play, good game. Could have x1 Fervor or something and swing for the win.
Aquillion
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@djflo: Yes, but it only repeats if you actually put something into the battlefield.

As soon as you choose not to, that card stays exiled, and you stop; you don't keep exiling cards. So you can stop with 10 cards left in your library, or 20, or however many you want.

I donno why this card is rated so low, I have it in my green high mana ramp deck, with cards like Keeper of Progenitus and Elvish Archdruids, the deck only has 3 sorceries/instants so the minute i get this played if it comes up its GG no questions asked simply over.

Its one of the few cards that alone and with a deck full of permanents can win you the game.

i run this in my human and angel's deck, only green card i have in the deck other than Captain Sisay, but good ways to get this card out is either with, Windbrisk Heights or Omniscience which can in turn be pulled using Academy Rector. Pulling this combo in a multiplayer, the look on everyone's face is priceless.
