While this card is pretty cool, the only time I've seen it really functional for any sort of power play is Dredge with another off color power card like an ultimatum. Theres just not that much Ive seen that you really WANT to recur that this gives you a cost-cut. And for black/blue there's that card from Shadowmoor that does the same thing, at instant speed, but does from Opp's graveyard, for 4 U/B. Without a way to cut its cost down its not as good as it should be. 3/5

An absolute EDH bomb.

I really hope the name of this card is Wizards' admission that YawgWin was stupidly broken.

@ Kweane: YES, it may be used with that card.

What an interesting card. Some of the best tutors in vintage are graveyard based (namely Intuition and Gifts, which can be scrolled for) so you can find your restricted cards like Mind's Desire or Yawgmoth's Will and some fast mana, then cast SIns from the Past to win it that same turn.

Should be an instant

I love using this on one of the 'shuffle back into your library' cards that was countered. ;)

I prefer Snapcaster Mage. But Snapcaster is 30$. So this'll have to do.
The obvious option to make this better than competitors like Snapcaster Mage and Past in Flames is to put something obscenely expensive and powerful or otherwise uncastable in your graveyard, kinda like reanimator, but for instant/sorcery spells instead. Some competitors:
- Hypergenesis (in the right sort of deck, anyway) - Time Stretch (self-explanatory) - Plague Wind (Also self-explanatory) - Searing Wind (don't forget to add Hidetsugu's Second Rite!) - Decree of Pain (this is actually a really good choice: you can cycle it turn 5, then use Sins of the Past to recast it when you want everything to die again, perhaps even next turn if you're desperate enough. Same goes for Decree of Annihilation/Decree of Savagery, unfortunately the other two don't work due to {X} cost or being an enchantment) - Sway of the Stars (best used in addition to a couple suspended pieces) - Army of the Damned (yes it has flashback, but this lets you cast it for 6 instead of 10. Plus you can still use Runic Repetition on it, regardless of HOW it was exiled) - Coalition Victory (makes the cost FAR more manageable. You could theoretically run it in {G}/{B} with Transguild Courier and Prismatic Omen for the win. Although the Omen would let you cast it with 8 of any land, so...) - Curse of the Cabal (ouch) - Dragonstorm (It's one point of storm count and cheaper to cast than an actual Dragonstorm) - Dichotomancy (Combo with some mass tap or just get the surprise value of casting it for 6) - Beacon of Tomorrows (this is an interesting one. If it gets countered or somehow graveyarded, Sins will allow you to shuffle it back in since it never tries to go to the graveyard) - Conflux (in the right deck, being able to cast Conflux for this price can be very powerful) - Din of the Fireherd (mainly because recycling this automatically adds to the value) - Scrambleverse/Warp World (because lol) - (Always a fine choice, Sins lets you grab these earlier than usual and at a less restrictive cost) - Mudhole (Maybe your opponent will die from laughing?) - Sorin's Vengeance (doubling up on this is kind of nasty) - Beacon of Immortality (Same trick as Tomorrows if someone manages to get rid of it somehow) - Lavaball Trap (if you can set the trap condition off turn 5 and then recast on turn 6 with this, your opponent is not going to be very happy)
And yes, I did just search up all instant/sorcery cards with high CMC. There's probably a bunch more tricks you can apply with this.
Fun Combo! Put this on a Spellweaver Helix. Then, whenever you cast a copy of the other imprinted card (which is clearly something like Mystic Speculation or Flame Jab, which can be cast many times in a row), you will get a free copy of any Instant/Sorcery in your graveyard.

I use this as spell recursion in my EDH decks. I personally love the card.

Very effective, and legitimately fun to play.
