This card's conditions used to be ridiculous, until Shadowmoor made it a joke, between scuttlemutt and prismatic omen. I've gotten a few wins with it in a five-color deck.

yes, this used to be hard. Now, very easy. Guild Currier for one. 4 or 5 mana artifact,(cant recall) and it is every color.

Transguild Courier is the artifact creature that costs 4 colorless mana, and counts as all five colors. As for a land of each basic type, there are 10 rare lands in the Ravnica block that count as two basic lands types: Blood Crypt, Breeding Pool, Godless Shrine, Hallowed Fountain, Overgrown Tomb, Sacred Foundry, Steam Vents, Stomping Ground, Temple Garden, Watery Grave. There are other ways to get one of each type of course, but for those of you with money, these lands help you get to your goal faster.

I don't care how hard it is to get Domain and a permanent of each color followed by 8 mana, I hate hate hate a non-permanent that wins you the game.

Managed to pull this in an epic sliver deck clash where my opponent and I were stalemating. Got it through the activation of a Temporal Aperture, and met the conditions the old fashion way, with basic lands. Ah, the days of unfocused deck building.....

Why is this banned in edh?

Don't see why it wasn't in the Coalition vs Phyrexia deck

I once beat a sliver deck using this when I was at 2 life.

I legitimately had one creature of EVERY color and one basic land of every type in play when I did it. Needless to say, the guy's eyes popped out of his head and the onlookers were all "OMFG!!! I've never seen that used before, ever!"

Can anyone tell me if this card can be hijacked with a Rebound or Misdirection?

@ Kal_Sunchaser
According to the rules "You" does not specify a target, thus this particular spell does not have a target. In other words, no, you can't "steal" the win ;) .

It does seem silly that this is banned in EDH but Test of Endurance and Felidar Sovereign are not considering you start with 40 life.

This is obviously a really cool card; however, Last Stand is 3 mana cheaper, requires only Prismatic Omen without the two other cards, and usually is equivalent to winning the game. Suppose you could run both, but that seems like overkill. Flavorwise, though, winning with this is awesome, especially if you're playing against a black/artifact deck :-)

Most auto-wins are much, much easier to obtain than this.

Best play ever: One of my friends cast Coalition Victory and in response another of my friends cast Twincast on it and won! He had every land out and everything! LOL

I have yet to hear of a funnier story on winning the game.

Aaaaah, man. I remember when I threw in Glittering Wish in my Scarecrow deck just before a duel. When I got Wish, I already had out all the necessary lands and Scrapbasket

Played Wish, nabbed Coalition Victory, paid one for Scrapbasket.

Won at life.

At the time this was printed it was quite easy to have all five colors down, what with all the Gold cards in the block, but getting all five lands was a serious pain. If only I'd had Terramorphic Expanse back then...

This may work well in a Sliver deck as well..

@markarmor

Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance both trigger on upkeep, meaning each of your opponents gets one turn to burn, pillage, and plunder your life total and/or win condition card of choice. This card, on the other hand, can just show up randomly at any time and end the game.

EDH (errr, Commander that is!) is supposed to be a casual, fun multiplayer format. Felidar and Endurance create drama on the board. Can your opponents take care of you before your next upkeep? This card isn't dramatic. If it resolves and you meet the requirements, game over.

I remember playing Sliver Control back in Time Spiral, using Dormant Sliver and Opposition Sliver (I forget it's name, something like Mindwhip, Mindlash, or Telekinetic, all slivers have T: Tap target Permanent) to lock down your opponent. The kill card: Coalition Victory. There was never a game when we DIDN'T have all basic land types and all colors out at once if we were winning.

I hate win-con cards, I'd much rather have the effect be "put a 100/100 indestructible angel with flying and shroud that is unblockable and all colours into play", that would be much more interesting and awesome, a win con is just an "I win for some strange reason" button.

Well, you'd feel pretty badly if your opponent happened to be holding Gather Specimens and you played a ridiculous angel like that...

@Hairless Thoctar: Not necessary permanent-less, as you have to own, uh, permanents in order to win. You could just as easily zap one of their creatures and make them fail the condition as you could kill this if it was an enchantment or w/e.

Progenitus. Kinda silly to throw him on the field just for this, though. But you can't argue with the results.

I don't care what anyone says, this card is fun. So there. Don't forget to bring your Earnest fellowships to make sure your wubrg doesn't get killed in response.

@Shamajotsi: Sure you can. You just need to use Commandeer.
Jeri

@Syrazemyla: But it would only make you win if you already had all the lands and creatures on the field, or not?

I love alternate win conditions, and this has got to be my favorite. Not only does it have the awesome flavor of everybody working together, but you can win with it turn one. (Though it does require a black lotus and a nearly stacked deck, so good luck.)

Turn one (on the draw): Play forest, tap for fastbond. Using fastbond, put out plateau and underground sea. Play black lotus and sac for a sneak attack. Sneak attack a Maelstrom Archangel and swing to cast your Coalition Victory. You win!

@Totema: It's not that silly if he's your Commander. You just need Fist of Suns first.

I have a deck that uses this as one of 6 victory conditions that the deck can pull off.

Not exactly sure if anyone mentioned this, but you can use Scuttlemutt to make one of your creatures all colors.
