This little guy is probably the best thing to ever happen to me. Tutor him up with a goblin matron, toss him on the board and let your opponents giggle. Yet when you Seething song into a furnace of rath and then lightning axe the little bugger he goes nuclear and slaps them back for 20 damage. I absolutely love him.

Now if you had Platinum Angel out, you could just volcano hellion him for 3000 damage and go world war three on your opponent.

best card ever printed in goblin history.

Mogg Maniac + Righteousness

Play Righteousness on the creature that blocks Mogg Maniac for lots of fun!

Lucifer nearly killed me with that World War Three comment. That's an awesome idea. 5/5 for that addition to the thread.

I'm normally not ranting about art that much, but hell Snoddy did a great job reflecting what this card is and does!

Aside from that it's a greatly comboable card, as you can tell when reading some other comments here. Yet i wouldn't use Righteousness with it, in case you don't know, unless the creature has trample, your opponent will be dealt damage equal to his or her attacker's power when blocked by the maniac even if it has more power than him.

But another handy White-blocking instant that is fun using with this card is Valor Made Real (or oldschool Blaze of Glory), which effectively allows you to redirect the total power of your opponent's attacking creatures to him.

If you plan on building around that guy i advise to add his great brother Spitemare to the deck, too.

My friend had two of these down and a Furnace of Rath... he was able to Earthquake for 2 and hit me for a full 20damage.

This guy's great. I love playing them in my Goblin deck. First, for the ohko potential with Skirk Fire Marshall. Second, because no one seems to ever want to block him (or attack with a strong monster while he's untapped).

Quality card.

i've had so much fun with my maniacs, can't tell you how many times i've Chain Lightninged him and my opponent for 3 mana. Blazing Effigy chains were my fav for a while... then Skirk Fire Marshalcame out, 20 damage 1 hit! so versatile for combos, and such a great body defense! very expendable, devastating and fun

Use Pygmy Giant and Yellow Scarves Troops and inflict 500,000 damage to your opponent for one red mana.

I like the Yellow Scarves Combo with Pygmy Giant , but following, my dear Friends, starting World War 5, Peter Griffin style" A WAR SO HORRIBLE!!!, it skipped World Wars 3 and 4...", doing much more than 500,000 damage. Try INFINITE DAMAGE people...well not infinite damage, but there are some combos out there that let people gain massive life, sometimes infinitely until they cut their combo loop, somewhere in the millions. And of course this combo will be legal in some tournaments, especially the tournies that don't let you use Unglued, Unhinged and Portal Set cards not reprinted;) Our beloved Maniac with Treacherous LinkandPariahor Pariah Shieldslapped on, then trigger any damage ability targeting yourself or Moggy McMassacre! What you have in my opinion is the best three card infinite damage loop ever invented;) I also like someone bringing up Spirit Loop combo, but think OUTSIDE the box my friend. Remember I said something about infinite life gain until someone kills the combo? Have ANY creature have the Treacherous Link and Pariah or Pariah Shield on with a Soul Link firmly attached. Let the loop go on and on, gaining life and so forth, but be careful to have the abilty to destroy any of the enchantments, or find a way to send the creature to the graveyard, or you will draw the game. End the loop in the millions of life, then proceed to use whatever means you prefer to bring back the cards you need to slap said evil combo of infinite(almost) damage to your opponent for a screaming good time;)

@luciferbest

weaksauce says i! only 3000 damage?! NEVER!?

assuming you have a mere 30 or so lands to work with:

double shivan meteor 4 times of each fire servant, quest for pure flames, and furnace of rath to 53,248 damage to one of your very own spitemare, however, each spitemare will pump it up AGAIN! through 4 gratuitous violence, the furnaces, and the pure flames. so your first spitemare will do 218103808 damage, then 893353197568,

THEN 3659174697238528 damage to your mogg maniac! hah! take that autolife loop decleration of a mere 6.5 billion life! 3 quadrillino coming at you!!!

Throw in a Nin, the Pain Artist deck, target this for a bunch to draw a bunch of cards and still damage your opponent. Twice the damage with Niv-Mizzet out.

Here's an idea,

This ( Mogg Maniac) plus Repercussion and Pariah (or pariah Shield) on the Maniac.

Drop an Earthquake of at least a size 1.

Repercussion and Pariah repeatedly trigger off of new damage instances that Repercussion generates, as Pariah sucks the damage that is dealt to you by Repercussion to the Maniac. Which then triggers Repercussion again which triggers Pariah, etc...

Hold on to a Disenchant for use on Repercussion to end the loop when you feel like it.

Feel free to add whatever flavor of life gain/mill/etc... to the combo.

If the combo does not work, then my apologies.
However after reviewing the full rules the combo appears to work as described above.

Enjoy!

@Smuai4444 You don't have a loop at all, replacement effects won't modify the same event twice. When you have a creature enchanted with both Treacherous Link and Pariah any damage directed at you or the creature will get redirected twice and then hit its original target.

@Isacc522 Your loop also doesn't work because Mogg Maniac will die from damage as soon as Earthquake resolves and the first set of triggers are put on the stack. If you do manage to cast an Earthquake for X with Mogg Maniac wearing Pariah, you get to shoot your opponent for 3X damage though, which isn't so bad.

One actual infinite damage loop with this card is to enchant it with Guilty Conscience, make it indestructible (with Darksteel Plate, Withstand Death, etc.), and then deal it damage.

Use Blasphemous Act. Then you can sweep all of your opponent's creatures and deal 13 at the same time!

@stille_Nacht
Ill go ahead and 1 up you.

1) Spitemare x2
2) Furnace of Rath
3) Eldrazi Monument
4) Gut Shot

I like to think of this as throwing a Red Supergiant Star at a planeswalker.

OR
1) Stuffy Doll
2) Guilty Conscience

This method does not deal *10001100101000* damage in one blow, but it will kill the opponent all the same.
* = 9000 damage in binary code ;)

Time to get a playset of Boros Reckoner to pair with my Maniacs and do something fun (like make them fight each other with Pit Fight and buffs, Boros Charm, other indestructible stuff).

Holy crap. Unbelievably good against Tarmogoyf or Knight of the Reliquary with AEther Vial. Dropping this guy instant-speed for a 4-7 damage burn on the opponent while saving your life total is brutal.
