@Salient: Man, I'm going to applaud you for going all regex on this shit. But another comment elsewhere showed me that Crookshank Kobolds beats even that at TWENTY FOUR MILLION. And hey, if you need to tone it down a notch, the same card also has 22,000,000 on it!
And it turns out it's also mentioned here on the second page.
If you can find a way to redirect the damage to a player, you can win the game the turn he activates that ability.
Failing that, you could always nuke an Eldrazi or Titan or something when you really need to.

I love how Unhinged has some Seriously obvious combos, like this and _____, as was mentioned before, as well as some others a I can't recall now.

187 would have been a way cooler number that would still kill anything

@Try4se: Because it's an awesome card? Who cares about legality? By far, most of the people who play this game will never, ever see a tournament and play on their kitchen tables with friends. Legal? Banned? If I can bring it to the table, I can play it! Lighten up.
What a beautiful curve. A bit intensive on the red, though.

The greatest amount of damage you can do with this card is 1,000,000 if you're going by printed numbers only (edited to address the "24 million" Kobold). This gives the seventh edition Llanowar Elves a reason to exist, and lets you kill a 1000000/1000000 creature with Dracula, literally quoting from Bram Stoker. How cool is that?
If Pygmy Giant flung noncreature cards instead of creature cards, you'd top out at 700,000 with Relentless Assault.
The next time you think to yourself "I must be the geekiest person alive," remember that someone sat down, wrote an algorithm to automatically search the Gatherer database using regular expressions to find instances of numbers, and organized the results by magnitude -- just to leave a silly comment on an Unhinged card in Gatherer...
Edit: ....but I forgot to search for number words like "million" :(

I actually hate the flavor text because it almost completely invalidates any reason to actually combo this with a card that has a high number, seeing as how 487 is almost always higher than you need to be (unless you need to be infinite, in which case this won't help).

BEST FLAVOR TEXT OF ALL TIME. If you missed it, go back and read the card again.

If the number is written out, does it still count? I would like to use this with Hundred-Handed One if that's the case.

You can change its flavor text. 'Nuff said.

Crookshank Kobolds, this, target a Stuffy Doll. 24 million direct damage for {R}!
T4 Boros Reckoner, activate the giant.
