I'm not sure whether I like this or Vines of Vastwood better. Vines protects my creatures from RFG and any other targeted effects, but this gives me a few more interesting of combat tricks. Guess I might use both! :D

Efficient counter-removal? For green? Yes, please.

Both this and VoV have their uses. Honestly, I prefer the Vines, for the Giant Growth effect and wider application. This prevents destruction, but Vines prevents a whole slew of annoying effects

Both vines and growth are better. But this one also got its uses.

I don't like this that much. Because, first you must have a creature worth saving (instead of adding another creature instead of this card to your deck). And then it must be destroyed by damage or a "destroy" effect. If it's exiled, constantly tapped, stolen, bounced, pacified, having it's toughness reach 0, shuffled back in it's library etcetc... Withstand Death doesn't help against any of these effects. Vines of Vastwood is clearly better. Though best are cards giving your stuff protection.

The one thing it has over Vines of Vastwood? The creature can survive Wrath of God, Vines doesn't get that luxury.

This is a very good and useful card. And it's an Instant! And it only costs a single {G}!

But I don't see it get much play now, but once the Eldrazi block rotates out this may become much more common in decks. Especially if the Umbra's and Vines don't come back.

"On Mirrodin, every conflict ends in either death or darksteel... or infect."
Can be okay in limited if you have absolutely nothing better.

So any 'destroy' ability/spell will not effect this card's target. Like Wrath of God cannot 'destroy' this card's target creature. Hmm ...

Come on Day of Judgement is overused just like Wrath of God and Wizards gives a one mana solution and it still isnt enough!!! Magic players are such cry babies!!!

This definitely helps the Phyrexians more than the Mirrans.

A situational card. Look at it this way: Lure your non infect opponent to attack, throw this down, and he has tapped out a card. Now he can't block when YOU attack

You attack, they declare blocker, you use this card.

Then boost.

Board wipe and deathtouch. The two things this does that Vines can't.

Of course, that's two very good reasons to use this alone.

And with all the creature kill around, having both this AND Vines is useful. After all, I might run out of blocking spells before I can get my Canopy Cover onto my Scute Mob.

Every conflict ends in death or darksteel? To be honest, I can't even begin to describe how frustrated I would be if my sworn nemesis one day suddenly started wearing darksteel plate :/

I agree that Vines of Vastwood is better in most situations, but this is definitely worth having on a side board because Day of Judgement is getting ran a lot.

So if I read this right, the creature still takes damage? If so Spitemare would be a prime choice, better yet enable it to deal double damage through a charged quest for pure flame, or a furnace for infinite damage.

Just let that horse bottle its rage up and throw a tantrum on an opponents face.

Ah! Beat me to it. Someone finally found a use for a Darksteel Relic, stand behind it. Haha.

With such skill in shaping darksteel, you'd think they'd have devised a means to tear it apart by now.
