John_Firefly, that doesn't work because by the time it does the damage, it's no longer enchanted. If you used Soul Link (from apocalypse) that would work because it triggers on damage dealt to the creature.
Come to think of it, the new aura from M10 (Lifelink) would work because it grants a keyword ability directly to the creature. But this card doesn't work like that.

Does it stack with lifelink? If it does, it's pretty good for lifegain/lifedrain decks.

It does stack with lifelink since they're two seperate abilities. That's what's nice about this card. Getting it back once it goes away makes this quite playable in my deck.

Gotta love it. Opponents hate it.

No the Mogg WOULD die, but last known stats are check because he is in the graveyard at the time damage is dealt.
In that case the enchantment was still attached before he went to the graveyard and you will gain life.

wrong Silversky, this is what would happen
Player 1 Shocks the Mogg, and Player 2 lets it resolve.
The Mogg is dealt damage, and then in return puts his ability on the stack, but also dies.
State-based action comes first, killing the Mogg and the aura Then the Triggered action on Spirit Loop would go on the stack Spirit Loop Returns to Hand THEN the Mogg's ability hits, and it deals damage. The Spirit Loop would have to be on it when it deals the damage, NOT when the ability is put on the stack.
Lifelink wouldn't work either, because he's dead when his ability activated.

yes but don't you have the option to prioritize? order the events so he does his damage first, then you would put the spirit loop into your graveyard and in turn into your hand.

With Rancor, it's like Armadillo Cloak, but without the +2 in toughness and the terrible feeling when the creature's destroyed.

Love the way most of the enchantments in this set/block work in the same way as Rancor :D

Hyon, yes it does stack with lifelink, since its a different ability.

It baffles me that no one's mentioned spirit link. At least Stray_Dog made the connection between Rancor and the Urza's block cards.

Kiseki you can't cast it on an opponent's creatures...

suppose i enchant a Mourning Thrull with this and at the beginning of my turn i forecasted Paladin of Prahv, do i get tripple lifegain?!?!
Nearly every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.
This card references Spirit Link and is part of a cycle of auras that harken back to the Rancor cycle in Urza's Legacy. The other cards in this cycle include Aspect of the Mongoose, Fool's Demise, Fallen Ideal, and Undying Rage.

Don't forget you can play it offensively on your opponent's creatures who now gain life FOR you, since the enchantment causes the creature to gain life for the enchantment's controller regardless who owns/controls the creature itself.
In EDH it syncs well with Oloro, or just smile as your opponent's Nekusar gains life for you, as well as negates the draw damage it causes for you too (provided any individual draw-damage isn't fatal).

@Narffet This one states "Enchant creature you control" But you are absolutely right with Spirit Link and Armadillo Cloak

This becomes 'Spiritual Cycle' in Russian, that has to count for something...

Still, makes me want to splash white in my Skirk Fire Marshal deck.
