They shouldn't be +1/+1 counters. They should be study counters or something.

"Take an extra turn."
Those words have never spelt trouble before.

Very janky, but could be fun and good in combo decks or something.

I agree that it should be study counters or something of the like. This is just too easy to break.
Also I think you got the name wrong? She's named Parasophia and she's legendary. (I'm not going to stop crying about this Wizards. You owed it to us for not making fblthp last time)
He's looking in the same direction as his half-brother Lighthouse Chronologist! Obviously has a place in EDH, but not much else.

This card seems to be fun to play with, but I don't think it's going to affect standard's meta in any way; it'll probably see play in kitchen tables and other casual plays. Getting five +1/+1 counters on him isn't an easy task, mainly in standard since you don't have Blessings of Nature nor Increasing Savagery which would get him to 5+ counters with a single spell, but none of those spells grant him protection from any removal. In Standard you could try and add some counters on him with other creatures that can get +1/+1 counters (heroic / evolving creatures) then Bioshift the counters onto the Sage and maybe even swing before removing the counters to get another turn, but again, too many cards / too much effort to get an extra turn without really establishing a solid board position or finding ways to protect this guy. Of course, if you can get to turn 4 or 5 and play an Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and have the Sage on the BF with a couple of +1/+1 counters on it and/or a Vorel of the Hull Clade then it is game, but that would also be kinda hard to pull off.

Play Give on a Master Biomancer. Play Species Gorger and this guy. Next turn, target this guy with the Gorger and play him again, coming in with 5 +1/+1 counters due to Biomancer.
Plenty of strategies to do this already, you say? Well the added benefit to this strategy is that you can also constantly add one then double +1/+1 counters on ALL of your other creatures every turn!

Many spike-y EDH decks run a "take extra turns" card in them as their inexorable win condition. I play The Mimeoplasm and couldn't really find one to use myself...
Then this guy.
I run 3-4 */* creatures that are based on the size of the graveyard (Consuming Aberration,Lord Of Extinction etc.) and the later game is optimal for this, but I do have mill that hits fast and hard. I'm looking at
Had someone draw both this and Ajani against me in a draft, and get them both out. Although infinite turns is tough, consistent extra turns is not. It very quickly became where I was taking 1 turn for every 2-3 of theirs. Made for a crazy game though. They hit that, and Ajani's 100 and I still barely won w/ Constellation and Armament of Nyx.

It is actually surprisingly easy to get massive numbers of turns from this card, especially in my BUG +1/+1 counter ramp. With cards such as Renegade Krasis, Master Biomancer, and Corpsejack Menace, his 5 counter requirement becomes trivial.
If I do it properly, I can have Sage of Hours at over 5,000 counters when it enters, resulting in one thousand turns. While 5 - 10 extra turns is more likely, it isn't much of a step up to take thousands of turns. Using Master Biomancer, Corpsejack Menace, Vorel of the Hull Clade, and Kalonian Hydra (and an opponent who didn't want to forfeit), I've gotten into the range of millions of extra turns.

Vorel of the Hull Clade doubles its counters.
What does that give you?
Infinite turns in Ravnica-Theros standard.

Alternatively, Elite arcanist imprinted with Blessings of nature.
You now have infinite turns.

T1 swamp, sol ring
T2 island, Buried Alive sending Lord of Extinction,Sage of Hours,Stinkweed Imp or Phenax, God of Deception if I have a spell to reanimate him
Then you wait until graveyards become fairly large, through mill or other means. Playing a 75/75 sage ought to do it.

Using cards like Give // Take and Vorel of the Hull Clade, in addition with Bioshift and Corpsejack Menace, he can be ramped up to massive numbers of counters with extreme ease.
