As do I Purplerooster. This set feels like Vorel got his hands on the design file (this, the promo hydra, that extra turn dude...) and I love it

That's because apparently, Vorel is a hero. Or monstrous. Or both.

This is great. Doubling the amount of +1/+1 counters is fantastic. In the Theros Block, there are plenty of opportunities to get +1/+1 counters. You can use Monstrous or Heroic, both of which are very accessible in Green. Plus, it's an instant, so you can use it to pump up an unblocked creature or pump up a guy to kill a blocker. And if you have spare mana, you can do it to both! Everytime I type another sentence I think of another occasion where this card is great.

Remember heroic triggers resolve before this, so it doubles the counters it creates.

Ajani! Yo, Cat, I heard you liked counters! Well I have counters for your counters so you can pump while you pump.

Jump your Heroes' Bane up another notch with this thing for an easy payment of 1G. I had a 128/128 on turn 5 in the prerelease thanks to this.

Casual reminder that the Heroic trigger resolves before the spell, so Centaur Battlemaster for example gets 6 +1/+1 counters from this.

I was able to use this with my Heroes' Bane at pre-release. I didn't make any friends that round.
And considering green heroic typically gets multiple counters per targeting, centaurs can get out of hand very quick with this.

I kid you not, during a game of commander I just had, I had a Kalonian Hydra, Vorel, Sage of Hours, and Doubling Season out. I ended up attacking with the hydra, using Vorel on the hydra, Bioshifting the counters onto the Sage, doubling them again with this, and then using his ability. Then I took 26 extra turns.

This is an awesome instant that only costs 2 mana! And since it's an instant that costs 2 or less, I like to bring out one of my favorite artifacts to combo with this: Isochron Scepter.
Double the number of +1/+1 counters every turn for 2 mana?! Yeah, it's that mean. And the way Strive is written means that you can ignore it if you cast a spell with Strive without paying its mana cost. Then you can target anything and everything that you want to!
To really capitalize on this, You can use a Forgotten Ancient, or from this set Nature's Panoply (imprinted onto a second Isochron Scepter). This should allow you to put at least 4 +1/+1 counters on any creature each turn. Then you just need to play Sage of Hours (who, with Heroic, can get at least 6 counters per turn.) and the rest of the game becomes a solitaire match!

On attacking Kalonian Hydra
With Vorel of the Hull Clade ready to add another counters
I like the sound of that. This is only one example what you can do in standard. All evolve creatures will love this card, same for heroic creatures.
