this card is made out of all the great things about artifact creatures. I.e. affinity.

this card is the backbone to my no mana-affinity deck that i have been constructing. easy enough to get out on turn 5-6 if you stack your deck with alot of 0 cost artifacts to replace mana, and then you can get out all of your strong monsters that previously didnt have affinity. how awesome would it be to get darksteel colossus out the same turn you play this eh? also, since theres no mana, just keep muliganing until you get it into your hand.

This card is sick, broken and breaks every other artifact in an artifact deck.
Anyone using it should be shot. Out of a cannon. At the moon.
Can I have 4 please.

use this with the artifact lands, the only lands I would use in a deck with 4 of these and basicly, you can play whatever you want

DAMN don't say monster, don't ever affiliate MTG with that piece of crap game Yu-gi-oh they are called creatures, CREATURES GET IT RIGHT.

well, removal only works if they can hit it, which Leonin Abunas or Whispersilk Cloak takes care of pretty effectively, or to fully stop even word of god, Darksteel Forge

BAN Affinity for Artifacts and allow Arcbound Ravager to return.
If this card hits the field in an artifact/affinity deck, it's pretty much game over. But, there are plenty of cards to deal with the golem. Not to mention there are plenty of cards to slow-down an affinity deck. A couple of Lightning Bolt, Path to Exile, Naturalize, etc., and affinity (and this card) are pretty much dead.
5/5 for flavor and a monster ability
Unfortunately with all of today's good removal floating around, affinity is not the monster it once was.
EnV: "monster" the way I used it means overbearing, impressive, intense, etc. I did not mean a synonym for "creature". It's called reading in context. Try it some time.

Meh. Even with removal, affinity is still rather frightening. Especially with the forge (goodbye half the removal that could kill this) and this guy. Though yes, affinity isn't the monster it was. Still, I would fear running into it.
I thought Esper was broken, but Mirrodin just shatters the game.

I get the impression that this guy's rather fond of artifacts.
Has to get all his friends in on his obsession.

Got a rules question... Can you ignore Affinity and choose to pay the casting cost for a creature? I run a Sunburst/Modular deck and affinity would kill the Burst part.

@jvdaniels: This isnt that great in affinity, as when you have enough mana/artifacts out to cast this you will have enough for any other affinity spell. This is more for general artifact-heavy decks to drop a Collosus or something. Devastating, it doesnt make it any easier to cast Frogmites or Myr Enforcers.

Apparently the Mycosynth was Phyrexia's subtle growth on Mirrodin... I never would have guessed. The mind of MaRo is unchartable, deeper than the quicksilver sea, taller than the towers of the Ur Golems, more confusing than the Tangle, brighter than razorgrass and more "poisonous" than the necrogen.

This + Artifact land in my affinity deck = win, if I survive. He is a beast, but the biggest target of removal and destruction in the game, which means two color swords and Whispersilk Cloak to the rescue!
FACK WHY IS THIS CARD SO EXPENSIVE! I found this guy on gatherer and I was like "hey, I should make an affinity deck" and I said to myself "if he's under $5 I'll buy a playset" and HE'S NOT!!
A friend of mine wants this so bad, especially for his master of etherium deck

@GrailBH: I can't find the actual ruling, but I do not believe you get to ignore the change in Mana Cost that this card applies. So yes, it would hurt the Sunburst part.

This great for a specific sub type of an archetype: Metal Stompy When just ONE Blightseel Colussus isn't enough. When just ONE Darksteel Forge isn't enough. When just ONE freaking DRACO isn't enough. When just FOUR Wurmcoil Engine tokens aren't enough.
You play this in a deck that wants to use all the hugest, massive artifacts in the game.
You DON'T play this in Affinity, because Arcbound Ravager wins on Turn...2? 3? maybe 1? Ravager does stupid.
This is the Timmy version of Affinity, not the Johnny one.

@GrailBH: I'm sorry, you can't ignore a cost reduction and just arbitrarily pay extra mana for things. Unless somebody lets you. @DacenOctavio: Conspiracy? Nothing you listed in your combo cares about creature types. Artifact lands? You've already included Mycosynth Lattice.

This card is not actually useful because by the time you amass the artifacts to get it out the ability should be useless, as there are already plenty of great creatures for that situation which don't need to be given affinity.
You could build a non-affinity deck based around four of these with 0 mana cheapies, expensive artifact creatures and hardcore drawing (Future Sight / Glimpse of Nature) but, as well as being heavily reliant on what you pull, it would be incredibly easy to hose with artifact destruction / creature removal / card discard / burn. You'd be much better off just building a normal affinity deck.

Yo dawg, I heard you have an affinity for affinity, so i put some affinity on your affinity so you can cast spells for free while you cast spells for free.

Hey I have a noob question. Does this reduce the cost of all artifacts, and all creatures or just the cost of artifact creatures
@wholelottalove Then why are people mentioning combos with cards that are only artifacts?
Jedijoe

@pjasco
Good catch! It does state specifically that this card gives only artifact creatures affinty, and not all artifacts. The ones mentioning other combos are simply not reading the card.

Such an incredibly huge target, its actually quite funny to see how quickly people try to kill it. A must have in any true affinity deck.
@BuffJittePlz: Separate instances of affinity stack. Check the rulings.
